I haven't been concerned about it much since I havent travelled internationally. DH has been outside the country but not to a zika zone. My mother is so obssessed with zika virus and keeps warning me to be careful ands beginning to get in my head. So now i'm going to the store grocery shopping and i added repellant to my list. Are your friends and family also constantlu asking about zika? Are you worried?

I'm not that worried about Zika in the US (except maybe the extreme southern US). It definitely has been informing our travel decisions though - we've crossed Mexico and most of the Caribbean off our list for a potential September trip and I'm not even really comfortable with the FL Keys.

No, or at least, not yet. I'm in a state that doesn't get the mosquito that carries it, and neither DH nor I has traveled into any zika zones since I've been pregnant. I am keeping an eye on the news though in case they find cases where the virus jumps to a different type of mosquito. There is a related species up here and it is unknown as of yet if they can carry the virus.

No, I'm not worried about it. I don't live in an area where it's likely to get it, plus I'm just about done with pregnancy. I think the first trimester is the most dangerous.

No, I'm not very worried about it. I live in the mid-South and the only cases in my state are travel related. I'm almost done being pregnant though. I do wear repellent when I'm working in the yard, but if I'm out walking I don't put it on.

I live in the northeast and am by pregnant, nor do I plan to be possibly ever again, so for myself personally I'm not really worried. But in terms of world health and even in the U.S., I find it terrifying. And I think to only going to get worse after the Rio Olympics. But even if I was pregnant I would feel comfortable here in New England.

I am a little worried; I've been making sure to use insect repellent and not be out at dawn/dusk. We only have 2 ish more months of summer to worry about.

My MIL sends panicked zika related emails every now and then. The mosquito has to bite someone with it and then bite you. They dont inherently carry it which means that the chance are super small unless lots of people right near you have it. I am not that worried.

I was sort of worried in early pregnancy and made sure to wear bug spray a lot. I'm in the mid atlantic, but in a travel hub so I often see people who are coming from affected countries. And I was in BFF's wedding when I was like 6 weeks pregnant and she lives in PR so...
But I'm not like overly cautious. I just try to use bug spray more like I use sun screen

yeah I personally wasnt worried at all initially but i guess with each new case reported my mom gets more worried. but so far each case has been contracted by someone who went to a zika zone and was bitten there or has sex with someone who was bitten in a zika zone

Not really, unless in the deep south of US, and even then, there aren't any confirmed cases. Definitely impacts our travel decisions, though.

I'm in the northeast and we don't really have mosquitos in the city so I don't really worry here...but I'm a little nervous to travel. We might do a babymoon to Bermuda in the fall (we found a good deal on flights) but we will definitely get travel insurance if we do to monitor if there are cases there (so far there aren't)

I live in southeast Louisiana and I'm not worried about it. There are so many other things that are more likely that I worry about (lately, a car wreck) and no local cases reported. I wouldn't travel to an affected country, but for now, rest easy! Plus at this stage in pregnancy, even if you did get it, the baby is so developed. (as I recall, you're 30+ weeks)
ETA: I get bitten multiple times a week. Nothing I do to prevent can completely avoid it.

@mrsjd: yes I'm 33 weeks today. Thats another thing that I couldnt really find information on how the virus affects you depending on the stage of pregnancy.
