I do think it was early! I didn’t feel my first until like 18+ weeks but with 2 and 3 I think it was 12-14 … always hard to tell at first if it’s real but I like to think so  and definitely by around 14

I’m super early but so very much looking forward to those baby kicks! My LOs will be 7 and 10 when baby arrives, so I don’t really recall when I felt either of them move.

Curious if you felt #3 sooner?

@Sams Mom: Yes! With my first. It looked and felt crazy. My OB explained they can start having a startle response. She is very busy on the outside as she was in the inside.

My daughter had one specific spazzy movement that kicked in during my second trimester. I got scared and called the docs because it felt like she was having a small seizure in utero. My doctor thought for sure it was fine. She’s still super wiggly, and shakes her feet sometimes when she’s on her back, which I think is what I was feeling. It’s probably normal. 😃

Also a trick I learned from the high risk nurses, if you’re really worried drink 12-16oz of fruit juice in 5 minutes or less, and most babies will move within 15 minutes or so when all the sugar hits your bloodstream.

They told me to monitor it today and let them know, I've been really busy at work, but can't recall feeling her all day until just this moment as I typed this. I messaged them back to see what to do saying I hadn't felt her at all today, so of course she decided to kick me.

If it makes you feel better my doctor told me that if something is wrong they just quietly stop moving. Frantic movement or “struggling” as I asked about when I was pregnant and paranoid isn’t a thing that indicates issues!

@Sams Mom: the first time I felt it I honestly was afraid my son was having a seizure in utero. Neither of my other two ever moved the same way. I definitely think you should check out any change in movement with your own doc, but at least in my case it was just a baby with a lot of energy.

@cake2017: I haven't really started because we were supposed to talk about that at my appointment in a couple days... And I honestly can't remember the rules from last time, 10 kicks in an hour? 2 hours?

@nwm: my son was just in perpetual movement, but not anything like this. I don't know if it's a lot less overall or just more concentrated in small bursts... But it's definitely more frantic than anything my son ever did.

Definitely good to talk/check with your doctor especially if there is a decrease in movement but my first was super spazzy and really fast with kicking at times and it turned out he was just hyper and liked to kick. I asked my doctor about it and she just shrugged.

I'm almost 31 weeks pregnant and today I've noticed less movement overall, but it's more spazzy/frantic when it happens. Is this something anyone has experienced? Is it of concern? I've messaged my doctor's office, I see him Tuesday, but I don't know if it merits a call to the nurse line or whatever at my doctor's office.

I haven't googled yet, and I'm a little extra concerned because of issues I had in my 3rd trimester with my son. But because of that I think I'm more worried than I should be.

My second baby had major movements when I was pregnant with her. The doctor told me she would come out very strong since she was already exercising her muscles. And that absolutely was the the case. Tiny baby was lifting herself out of her rock and play and her swing so so early.

My first was crazy in utero, and is now a crazy 3 year old! Colicky baby, extremely high energy toddler/preschooler. But also very happy and sweet. Second was more calm and was definitely a more calm baby as well.
