Same! We saw a pediatrician for my 6.5 year old that prescribed a medicated oil. I think steroid or something? It was so messy but it finally cleared it up and kept it resolved for the first time in his entire life. We’ve tried every oil, head and shockers, nizoral, anti fungal, you name it. We use a natural tea tree oil shampoo for regular washing.

We swear by this stuff! Been using it for years (since DD was a newborn). It cleared away her cradle cap immediately. I find it even works on dry scalp and dandruff!

This past winter, my scalp was exceptionally dry and I ran out of my tea tree shampoo, so I tried DD's Weleda. I was surprised by how well it works on my own scalp!

So my 3 year old had cradle cap her whole life and we never really did anything about it. I used this a few months ago and it still has not come back. And just the act of using it was so satisfying: https://www.target.com/p/fridababy-dermafrida-the-flakefixer-3-step-cradle-cap-system/-/A-76474056?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012735142&CPNG=PLA_Baby%2BShopping_Local%7CBaby_Ecomm_Baby&adgroup=SC_Baby_Low%2BMargin&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9031951&targetid=pla-1030584751616&ds_rl=1242884&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8ebEhdC_8AIVYR6tBh3npwi0EAQYASABEgJE6_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Ugh, my son's was really bad until he was 6. We used Head and Shoulders almost every day for a week straight - letting it sit on his head for a minute or so before washing it out. It worked great and didn't irritate his scalp. It's been totally gone since then.

DS (5) has always dealt with cradle cap on and off. The pediatrician recommended we treat it with olive oil, which works pretty well, but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions about shampoo, etc. that might help keep it at bay. Thanks!

I remembered reading somewhere (or our pediatrician told me, I don't remember) that Aquaphor is a good barrier, but not really a moisturizer. We have had great results layering Eucerin baby lotion underneath aquaphor. The aquaphor keeps it on and prevents her diaper and clothes from rubbing on the spots that have eczema. We also used basic cortisone cream on a really bad spot on her forehead, layered under aquaphor, and it cleared up quickly.

Following with interest. My almost 4 year old has always had one patch of eczema on the back of her neck, and is having TERRIBLE flare-ups on her thighs this summer. We also had some prescription creams/steroids for when she scratches it/it gets infected, but would love ideas for preventative measures.

How often are you bathing her? DD had bad eczema and we only bathed her once a week because any more would cause flare ups. Also, have you identified the source (or if there is one)? If she sensitive to laundry detergent then you won't see improvement so long as she is still wearing clothes.

I couldn't use Aquaphor because of lanolin, so we used Aveeno Eczema Nighttime Balm and it worked great.

Also, come.to think of it, try doing a spot test on a place that doesn't have eczema with the Aquaphor to make sure it actually isn't contributing to the flare ups.

DD2 is 7 mo and has some stubborn eczema in her arm creases and on her back. Doc has us trying hydrocortisone and aquaphor, and using Cetaphil for bathtime. Some days it looks q bit better but I'm not seeing a big improvement.

What does this cycle look like - should I be seeing improvements? I have permission to use the cream for 2 weeks and we're just finishing week 1. Dd is not bothered. I don't want to spend money on eczema products unless they're going to actually work. Any advice?

Same problem here and I've been wondering about a teak or bamboo "rug"...seems intriguing though some water will pool underneath on the tile. I personally dry off in the shower, then step out so not too concerned about the pooling.

Can anyone recommend a product/solution that doesn’t need to be moved to dry and doesn’t get gross? Does this exist? Thanks!!

Sometimes using a weird name can help too. We do something called a Washy Washy in our house and it can be either a bath or a shower but what it means is you literally just get in, get wet, get soapy, rinse, and get out. There's no playing, but I introduced the idea with like a fun, silly voice and the kids bought it, hook, line, and sinker.

It's a four year old thing. A friend says she got her son this shower visor thing to keep water out of his eyes, and it made a difference. I just use the handheld and try to get the hair washing over with fast, and keep the water on the kids so they don't get cold. Seems to work most days...

Can you make a smaller shower with the handheld? Have it hanging somehow? Our stand up shower has a hook for some random reason so we are able to hang the handheld and make a small shower that is below his head (he is 3.5). We also let him play firefighter after he is washed up with the handheld. Good luck!
