@DesertDreams88: 6 would be a good age. 3 or 4 might be too young. My DH had a vasectomy in January, so we are definitely finished with babies. Thanks for sharing your plans!

I fully plan to get skin removal surgery or a tummy tuck when my youngest is about 6 and we're 1000% done with even the possibility of another baby (for example, my partner will get a vastectomy and we'd wait the 6 months, get his sperm count tested, etc)

No personal experience, but a photographer I follow on Instagram posted about her decision to get surgery https://elenasblair.com/blog/where-do-i-fit-in-the-body-positivity-movement

I think it’s similar to a lot of the things you are feeling. She just had the surgery very recently and seems happy and I think she plans to share the results and talk about the process more once she’s recovered.

@JennyPenny: thank you! I really appreciate it!

My boobs are also deflated after breastfeeding, so I totally understand where you are coming from too. Thank you for the suggestions! I have bought myself some clothes and lingerie that I feel good in and it definitely helps, but in my head, I know it’s still there. I wish I didn’t care so much, but it’s hard seeing a body I don’t recognize as my own.

First, congratulations on getting back to your pre-baby weight! That's a fantastic accomplishment.

I'm right there with you though, but it's my boobs that bug me more than my stomach. If someone gifted me a boob job, I would take it in a second, but like you I'd feel guilty/shallow doing it for myself. For me, I've just mostly focused on ways I can feel good in clothes. So bras and lingerie that make me feel less saggy. If I were more worried about my belly, I could see myself getting some nice things that hide/suck in my tummy for wearing under clothes or while being intimate. I also tend not to look in the mirror too much while naked. It's not a perfect solution but the right undergarments definitely give me back some confidence.

I had twins 15 months ago. I am down to my pre pregnancy weight and fitness level, but I have loose wrinkly skin on my stomach that isn’t going away. I hoped it would get better with time, but the skin was stretched so much, that I finally realize it’s here to stay.

I know I should be proud of my body and all it has done for me, and I am in many ways, but I am seriously hung up on the loose skin. It makes me feel incredibly insecure in the bedroom, and I’ll never feel comfortable wearing a bikini again. Lately I have been considering getting a tummy tuck when my twins are 3 or 4. Part of me feels so incredibly shallow and selfish for even considering it, but the other part of me just wants to feel confident again. I want to accept my skin, but every time I shower, get dressed, have sex, etc. I’m stuck staring at something I hate seeing. I think my “lack of control” over changing it is driving me crazy.

Have you ever considered a tummy tuck? Has anyone had one that is willing to share?Or does anyone have advice on accepting/loving postpartum changes?

Just FYI, it's a myth that plucking, shaving, or any other type of hair removal causes hair to grow back thicker and darker. One of the many misogynist tropes that exist to make our lives hell.

I pluck mine using an Epi slim device that a trusted friend recommended a decade ago. And once I got used to the sensation, it doesn’t hurt (it did hurt the first few times) and the hairs grow back in a lot lighter. You can get it on amazon and it’s worth the $20.

I pluck the few course hairs I get. I used to wax my upper lip but don’t anymore... I might look into tinkle razors mentioned above...

In 2011-2012 I did elaze or laser treatment on my underarms and lip chin area... total waste! I guess my hairs weren’t thick enough On my lip and not sure why it didn’t take care of the thicker ones on my chin/neck but they are spread out and random... like I have 10-15. Anyway, I pluck now... usually in my car... and usually when they seem 10 inches long!!! Like how does that happen ... swear I look everyday!!

I’ve been getting dark, coarse chin hairs since I was a teenager. I’ve always plucked them. I have noticed in the last year or two that I’m getting more than ever, and I’ve thought about looking into lasering them, but right now I don’t think it would be worth the cost. I also shave my whole face with a tinkle razor every couple of weeks for peach fuzz and that has never changed the texture of either my peach fuzz hairs or my darker chin hairs.

Tinkles have an unfortunate name but they’re on amazon and super cheap. Waaay cheaper than dermaplaning. And oddly satisfying. Haha.

I started getting black chin hairs around 20? It started as just two always in the exact same spots. Now it is up to 15 but they typically come up in predictable ways. I have just always plucked them. It hasn’t changed the texture, though they were thick and coarse to start, so who knows. Mine aren’t clustered so it would be hard to do anything to them as a group, it is easier to deal with them individually

I also deal with upper lip and lower lip hair. I bleach or thread that. I prefer threading but I was having to go to often and it was just too expensive, so I typically bleach them now.
