This is my second month charting and I think I have a Triphasic chart going on here. Besides not tracking cm (yet, I plan to start next month!) am I missing any big signs that could help ease my mind. Whether I am pregnant or not!

This is my first month really temping (oral). I started middle of last month so not sure it counted. I wanted to chart to make sure that I am ovulating and see if I can identify the window. So I am relieved to see that I do have a definitely shift here.

But I want to understand WHY this chart (set to advanced) is suggesting that I ovulated on day 19 and NOT day 21? I know OPK (ovulation predictor kit) was last positive on 19 but you can ovulate 2-3 days after surge to my knowledge.

There are open dots because I sometimes woke up before or after my usual time of 745am. I always had regular periods between 30-34 days though last month it was a weird 28. And I did also have one cycle about 2-3 months ago that was 18 days but that's out of ordinary for me. I don't have PCOS or any medical issues at all.

I feel like when I looked into this a few years ago the technology just wasn't there yet, but curious if anyone has used a cycle tracking device lately, and whether it worked?

I'm still breastfeeding my toddler and my period only recently returned, so things have been a bit wonky. I don't feel like taking an OPK every single day for who knows how long, as I don't have a lot of hopes for getting pregnant while breastfeeding anyway (though I would be super delighted if it happened). Mostly it drives me crazy to have no idea what's going on with my cycle, because of course then I need to take a HPT just in case, then it's negative, and so on...

So my husband and I are TTA right now, but we had an accident on CD8. According to my chart attached, there's minimal chances of conception because my ovulation temp increase happened 7 days later (and sperm survive up to 5 days). I've been researching a TON though since then and have been pretty obsessive about my chart and temps. I have never been pregnant. I have not been showing signs of pregnancy (I think). The only weird things that have happened this month - cold (I never get sick), several canker sores (I get them when stressed, but I wasn't at that time), VERY sore boobs for a couple days (could be due to PMS), and a headache for about a week or a little more (around ovulation and past ovulation). I did get a small cold this month (coughing, sneezing, runny/stuffy nose), but started to feel better on 6 DPO. Since I'm feeling better now, the increase after ovulation surprises me. I've never had this increase before since I started charting in July/August last year (using TempDrop), and my temps have NEVER been this high before. What are the chances this triphasic increase is due to illness (but after I started to really feel better) or early pregnancy? I've been taking a pregnancy test since DPO 7 (early I know) and they've all been negative, but I know that doesn't mean anything. Yes, I'm obsessing, just wanted some opinions from people more knowledgable than me on this subject. I know non-pregnant women also have triphasic charts, but it's 3x more likely in pregnant women. I've just never had a triphasic cycle yet in my charting and never temps this high.

Hi ladies,

So I have been looking at getting off of my birth control for a few months now. I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe since I believe August 2011. I took some birth control don’t know what it was when I was like 12 due to irregular periods and it did absolutely nothing to fix it so I was off within months. The reason I went on in August 2011 was to prevent pregnancy. I wish I knew what I know now about the pills and I would have probably never gone on a hormonal pill. The reason I want to come off is I’ve recently started feeling different and I don’t know if it’s the BCP or just getting older (I’m 29 going on 30 in July) and not liking fake hormones in my system. With that said I am absolutely TERRIFIED of coming off! This past week I have literally upset myself so much reading all the horror story’s I found through google that I wanted to start crying at my desk at work. I’ve been so emotional I know its probably really stupid to be and my boyfriend Mom and best friend are like you need to stop reading google because it always tells you you’re going to die tomorrow. Lol. I started having anxiety issues around the time I was in college and I just feel like now since I’ve been on this pill (never changed it) it makes my anxiety worse at times. The list of reasons I want to get off include:

1. I have my period for at least 15 days (I know your all thinking that’s insane why would you take the pill for that long if it caused that) It did it to me when I was 12 as well.

2. I cramp all day for roughly 2 weeks before getting my period. (I’m cramping as I type this lol) 😑

3. I have pain during sex (not all the time) which I link to the pill because I didn’t have that before hand

4. I’ve always been a moody person but I think this pill plays a part in me being very snappish at the littlest things

5. Again I think it worsens my anxiety to where when I get way to excited like reading these horror stories online I become very emotional, fatigued, and I don’t want to see anybody or go anywhere except for sleep and watch tv

6. I’m tired all the time and I didn’t realize it could be from the pill.

Sorry for the long list and post but I’m TERRIFIED of coming off my pill. I hear all these stories of women having awful acne, hair loss, and weight gain issues and emotional issues after coming off. I’m having all these mental images and thinking everyone’s going to think I’m so hideous. I am thinking of talking to my doctor about using the Caya (new diaphragm introduced in 2015) and what is called the Daysy fertility monitor.

I probably sound like I belong in the freaking nuthouse because this is not me and how I remember being before! Have any of you ladies taken the Lo Loestrin Fe for more than a couple of years and came off? What side effects did you have? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Has anyone heard of the Ava Bracelet for cycle tracking? Charting never worked for me because I usually wake to pee in the early mornings and don't consistently wake at the same time, so I didn't have a good time to reliably temp. But this bracelet essentially automatically monitors your temp (and other things) and syncs with an app to predict ovulation. My husband and I are done having kids but because of some health issues he's having, we've had to delay his vasectomy. We're using condoms for now, but it would be nice to use this to know for sure what days we need to be extra careful. If it was $100 I would have pulled the trigger, but $199 is a little steep for something so new to the market. What do you think?

Hey guys, I have a question concerning temping. I wake frequently in the night (as I'm sure we all do) and I'm not sure when to temp. I've been temping at 6am when I get up for the day, but I sometimes have temper at like 3am when I happen to wake up. The 3am temp is usually significantly lower than the 6am one after O. I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. I know technically it's supposed to be my lowest temp my body goes to, but if I've been temping at 6am should I just keep doing that, even if it's half a degree higher? Thanks!

So we're not really trying to get pregnant, but not really trying to avoid it either. I'm mostly charting to get to know my body because I've had trouble conceiving in previous relationships.
Went of the Nuva ring in November and my cycles have been a bit weird but seems to be normalizing now.
My last chart (the one that says December), which was my first full month charting, was absolutely beautiful to me because it had a very clear biphasic pattern. I was hoping my charts would keep looking something like that, but this one (the one that says January) is completely different.

Is it normal for charts to be this different?

Oh, I forgot. First month was oral temping, but decided to temp vaginaly instead so I started doing that when my period started.

Hi there! (forever lurker, first time poster)

I'm in my first month of charting and the cheapo BBT I bought off Amazon without reading the reviews is not working out--it takes 4 minutes to register a temperature and has no memory function. I could live with the lack of memory function, but the 4 minutes is killer in the morning (and also--so uncomfortable!)

I'm hoping for this to be a long term birth control method, so I'm okay with making the investment if the best choice is more expensive-I'm just not having much luck sorting through options on Amazon.

What are you using? Any suggestions?

Thank you so much!

Last night I was up much of the night because either the toddler was up fussing or I couldn't go back to sleep. When I woke up at 5:30 and took my temp, I only had an hour and a half of consecutive sleep. When I input my temp in FF, it changes my O date by FIVE days. I tweaked the temp to be one point lower (from 97.7 to 97.6) just to see what it does, and it puts my O date back to the current estimate. I could care less when O is, I just couldn't believe that one little tweak changed my entire chart, and I'm like 99% certain I didn't O on the second date it is trying to give me.

Hello all!

I’m new to charting and new to this site!

Just wondering how long it took everyone else to get back to a normal cycle? I was on the pill forever so I have no idea if I had regular periods before the pill, but so far my first cycle was 42 days long with a 2 day period, and now I’m on day 31 of my second cycle and have yet to see any ovulation or pattern! when should I start being concerned?

I'm not pregnant and have had a plethora of health issues related to my last cycle, including my temp not dropping at all since I started my period. My period lasted 9 (!) days this time and has been over for about 4 days and still, nothing. Does anyone know what this means, if it even means anything?

How concentrated must urine be for an accurate OPK? 2h hold? 4h hold? I drink a lot of water and coffee and my urine is usually totally clear. Not sure if that's conducive to a positive OPK...

I've been charting (only the past 2 cycles) as an extra measure of prevention. Do you use charting as a means of trying to conceive or trying to prevent?

Does a long LH surge mean anything? Good/bad?

I have only sporadically used OPK's (I use wondfo's) and typically see the lines get gradually darker until it's positive. The next day, it's generally much lighter/negative.

This month, it's been super light until one day, BAM. Super positive. Three days later, it's still very positive. The 1st positive came a few days after I would have expected it to, as well.

I don't do BBT, so the only info I have is from the wondfo's, which probably isn't very helpful.

Any ideas?

Ok this question is for the serious charting witches, those of us who have become intimately familiar with our cervixes.

Your cervix is supposed to get higher, softer and open up as you approach ovulation.

The idea behind a soft, open cervix is that it allows sperm through. I haven't really gotten a handle yet on figuring out if it is "open," but I can definitely feel the difference in height and firmness.

I'm on CD 13 now and my cervix has been high for the past couple of days, but it feels like it is getting firmer, not softer. My cervix was low and soft around CD 9, when I also had eggwhite CF. After that I had a couple days of lotion-y CF and now we are back to eggwhite.

Is it possible that a high, firm cervix means that I am pregnant? It would make sense evolutionarily as the cervix is trying to do its part to ward off infection and not let anything through. If I am already pregnant then it may react automatically to firm up and close even though it hasn't fallen back down to its normal position yet.

Thoughts? Any other theories why my cervix might be high AND firm? My chart is attached.

Do you chart even when you aren't trying to conceive as a way to keep track of your cycles? I've never charted but have though maybe I will give it a try if we have troubles conceiving #3 and didn't know how long you need to have recorded. (if we decide to have a #3 :) )

I know we've had this question before, but I'd love to hear your opinions again!

Ovia and FF are giving me totally different "fertile window" dates, and I don't know which to believe! I actually only track my period and sex--no temps, cm, opks, etc--because I'm totally type-A and I'm afraid I'd just go nuts with it, but the differences are making my head spin...!

Adding screenshots since they're so different!
