Hi,

LO has been sleeping well. Hes going to be 8 months this month. Now he is waking up quick from naps and night time sleep. Normal? How long? He’s up in the crib in his crawling stance :) .
He’s on the floor all day and getting a lot of play time so I am comfortable with that.

Any tips or we just ride this one out???!!???

TIA

My LO is coming up on 9 months and isn't showing any signs of crawling. The questionnaire for this upcoming ped appt asks about crawling, pulling up, and cruising - none of this behavior is happening. My daughter rolls like crazy and will stand if I put her in that position. She does not get her torso off the ground, and resists my attempts to show her by planking, pretty much (girl must have abs of steel). We have lots of playtime on the floor everyday.

How old was your LO when they started crawling? Did they show signs of figuring out our before they started, or was it all of the sudden? Is my LO late or am I worrying over nothing?

Thanks in advance

DD has always hated being on her stomach. She is almost 9mo and still not crawling (DS was almost waking at this point. They really couldn’t be more different!)

she has now almost mastered the bum scoot to get where she wants to go. I’m wondering if she will skip crawling all together.

Who’s kid skipped crawling? When did they start to walk? Did they always hate crawling?

DS2 is 6.5 months old and was looking like he was going to start crawling at any minute but then out of nowhere decided he was all about standing instead. He pulls himself up on everything and doesn't even want to sit anymore. All he wants to do is stand. He can even let go and balance for a second or two. I'm so surprised that he is doing this before even army crawling! I guess all babies are unique! Anyone else have a kiddo that did milestones out of "order"?

I just read a previous thread about hypermobility and it reminded me about Dd always doing the splits. Now I'm freaking about that something is wrong with her hips or low tone or something.

She frequently does the splits when sitting and now while inch-worm crawling too
Even when we pick her up she sometimes has her legs spread wide open
She almost always sleeps in starfish position
And she will bear weight but for no more than a few minutes at a time.

I emailed the pedi tonight but i don't think I'm gonna get any sleep tonight. Kicking myself for reading the hyper mobility thread and threads about hip dysplasia etc. :(

How long until they crawled on all fours?

My older daughter never army crawled. She just crawled across the room out of nowhere at 7 months. My younger son is 7 months now and can army crawl quite well. But I've never once seen him on all fours. I'm not worried per se, he can get where he needs to go, sits up independently for long stretches, and is only 7 months anyway. I'm mostly just curious if and when I can expect him to real crawl. He loves to hold on to something and stand up so part of me thinks he might go straight to walking.

Does anyone have a LO that skipped crawling??

My LO is 10 months old, and is still not crawling! But she's still getting around everywhere! She mostly rolls, but has started to army crawl a tiny bit. But she's much more interested in pulling up and standing next to things now. I have a feeling once she gets a little more confident in her balance, she will be walking. Therefore, skipping crawling!!

Anyone else?

Yesterday and today he got to standing position on his own so maybe he will walk soon?

J is getting mobile, which is SO exciting but I'm now in new parenting waters. What was the timeline from when your little one first started crawling until he/she was pulling to stand, cruising around furniture, solo steps, to walking unassisted? I'm just wondering if there's any consistency.

My DD (Quinn) is 9.5 months now. She isn't crawling. We realized at about 8 months that we had been letting her play in her exersaucer and bouncer too much instead of encouraging floor time. I think this might be the culprit, but I still worry about her development. We got rid of those toys and she now plays exclusively on the floor. She HATES tummy time, though.
She gets into a position that looks like she's about to crawl, but hasn't yet. She loves to stand against furniture to play, but can't pull herself up to standing yet. She's been sitting unsupported since 6.5 months. Her pediatrician said she was fine at her 9-month check-up, but I still worry! Anyone else have late movers?? I posted something similar when she was almost 8 months, but as time goes on, I worry more and more.

My DD will be 8 months in 3 days. She's still not crawling. I have to admit that I've never been great with tummy time because she's never liked it. She spends much more time in her exersaucer or jumper than she does on the floor. If she IS on the floor, she's sitting. When we put her on her tummy, she whimpers and sometimes cries, so we don't do it much. She isn't scooting or anything either. I'm getting really worried. Does anyone have advice or has had the same experience? Thank you.

I (and his EI therapists) thought LO was going to just skip crawling because his reflux has made tummy time so miserable, but today I found him scooting backwards on his butt. Basically moonwalking on his butt. He's liking this way of getting around, although I'm afraid of what the friction on the wood floor will do to his feet!

So my LO can't ever do anything the easy way! She hasn't really hit any of her milestones the "normal" way and standing is turning out to be no different.

Rather than pulling up on things, she just stands up from the floor. She gets up on hands/feet and then just stands up. Except this is sort of a horrible way to learn how to stand because she doesn't have time to practice balancing-- so she only stays up a few seconds before falling over. And she does this like.... 10,000 times per day lol. If I put her standing next to furniture she will put her hands on it for like, 2 seconds and then she lets go and tries to balance on her own then falls down. And she hates when you hold her arms/hands so I can't really help her. I feel like this kid works hard, not smart ;)

Anyone else's baby try to learn to stand and walk without ever really pulling up on stuff or cruising? Can they even do that?? lol

T is 10.5 months and not crawling. He's not getting off of his belly during tummy time. We're in the process of starting EI but we're trying to help him on our own while we wait. His ped was able to show us that he can be placed in the crawling position which was exciting. But we don't have much success of doing it ourselves at home. I don't know if it's because we don't know what we're doing or T doesn't take us seriously. Haha
We can get him in it, but only if we forcibly hold him in that position supporting him. He holds himself up on his hands but constantly wants to lay back down. His ped got him to hold the position himself.

Besides forcing him into it and holding him still, which only makes him mad, what are some other ways? He gets even more mad with a mirror or a toy in front of him because now he can't reach for it in the crawling position. We're looking at at least another 2 weeks before we can start physical therapy and as we approach his first birthday I feel like I'm wasting time.

Pretty much what the title asks. My LO (11 months) has started pulling up and letting go of everything the past 2 days, and I'm curious how long it took until they attempted the first step!
