We also use Amazon sensitive wipes, and have for several years! But I actually didn't care for the Huggies wipes, I thought they felt too...flimsy?

@togetherthroughlife: I like Target brand. unscented, hypoallergenic…. I grab the box of 8 or 12 and it’s under 15 dollars. It lasts for awhile in our home and I have two potty trained children and an 8 month old. I still use them to wipe and clean the older two after poops.

The generic Aldi wipes are pretty close to Huggies from my experience. I agree with you, they have a nice feel to them. My parents always have them for us to use when we visit them.

We use the fragrance free, sensitive skin Up&Up ones from target. We shop there, so it's just more convenient and we like them too.

I don't know how they compare, but we've been using the Amazon sensitive / unscented kind for years. I have a subscription so they're auto-shipped regularly. I actually like the Amazon ones more than the Pampers wipes, which we get every now and then if we're running low.

We love the Huggies Natural Care unscented wipes. But they keep getting more and more expensive! Looking for a generic alternative. I don’t like Pampers wipes at all. The consistency and feel and smell of the Huggies unscented is what I’m wondering if I can find something similar to. We’ve tried Kirkland/Costco but in my mind they’re a little more rigid than I would prefer. Tried the Kroger brand and don’t like those much. Help! :)

I've never used Targer diapers, but we liked the Made Of brand on Amazon for newborn diapers. For size 1 we tried Andy Pandy, but the fit was weird, so we bought Honest diapers and have been using them since then (size 1 to her current size, 5/6).

We had one bad box of the Target ones. I've used them for #1 and #2; almost called it quits with the bad box, (it was size 3). But then now so far all our size 4's have been good...

Otherwise I like the Kirkland ones! Pretty similar to Huggies but IMO even better.

@winter_wonder: target newborns constantly blew out for us. 😕 We’ve had success with Luvs and both versions of pampers, but Huggies are narrower and didn’t work as well for my daughter either. Like pp said, pampers swaddlers do have a perfume, but it doesn’t bother us and we get the best performance with them so that’s usually what we buy even though they’re not cheap.

I’m pretty loyal to pampers swaddlers. We never tried target for all the time, but did use the nighttime ones in larger sizes (maybe 4 or 5, can’t remember) in the lead-up to being night trained for my son and had good luck with them. That was also a few years ago!

@LemonJack: my second daughter is really prone to diaper rash. she gets is immediately once she has diarrhea. We use huggies, bought at costco. I've also had to get Nystatin prescriptions. Since her rashes come with diarrhea, I never thought about the diaper being the cause. Does your baby get the rash just by using the diaper, or only with diarrhea?

I used Huggies wipes (travel pack) and DS had a horrible rash. We made sure to use nothing but Pampers wipes. While visiting others, they had the right size Huggies diapers and I tried those. After a few days, he got a rash. I've never changed from Pampers since. That was my first and before he was a year old. I'm now on child 3.

We used Huggies almost exclusively with our first, but I recently switched our second to Pampers. We used Luvs for a long stretch last year, but then they changed them and DS got a terrible rash. I think it coincided with teething so he was already prone to a rash, but it took a while to clear up. He was doing pretty well with Huggies, but I think he's more comfortable in the Pampers.

Yes, with DD1 the only kind of diapers we could use were the Pampers Swaddlers - all the way up until she potty trained. I tried Huggies and Luvs (I preferred the Luvs because they fit her best - she was/is tall and skinny) but she always always always had a rash until we switched back. She also has eczema and sensitive skin in general so we have to watch what kinds of soaps we use as well.

We mostly used cloth diapers, but when we did use disposables my DD could only be in Pampers Swaddlers... even other Pampers would cause a pimply-rash.

Many people in my cloth diaper groups cloth because there babes are allergic to disposables. So I don't have a direct answer for you; but yes it is absolutely possible for your baby to be allergic to one kind of diaper or another because of the different plastic and chemicals used in each kind.

Hope you figure out which type works best without too much more rash!! Good Luck!

Has anyone had problems with Huggies or Kirkland diapers giving their baby a rash? DS is our third, and with our first two we used both of those often without issue, but I think they’re bothering this babe. He had a rash for nearly a month - tried a bunch of things to clear it up and it finally started going away with some Nystatin, then quickly cleared up a few days ago, at the exact time we switched from Huggies to Pampers. Yesterday I bought some Kirkland diapers and put DS in them, and today the rash is back.

I’m already planning on returning an (open) box of Huggies to Costco because I took one diaper out and realized the entire box had a super strong chemical smell. Now I’m wondering if I’ll have to return the Kirkland ones too.
