We love the Huggies Natural Care unscented wipes. But they keep getting more and more expensive! Looking for a generic alternative. I don’t like Pampers wipes at all. The consistency and feel and smell of the Huggies unscented is what I’m wondering if I can find something similar to. We’ve tried Kirkland/Costco but in my mind they’re a little more rigid than I would prefer. Tried the Kroger brand and don’t like those much. Help! :)

Am I remembering correctly that Target diapers are good for Newborn and size 1 and then the quality is terrible? I thought I remembered this from DD, but that was almost 5 years ago! We switched to pampers swadlers and also liked those.

What diapers do you like now?

Has anyone had problems with Huggies or Kirkland diapers giving their baby a rash? DS is our third, and with our first two we used both of those often without issue, but I think they’re bothering this babe. He had a rash for nearly a month - tried a bunch of things to clear it up and it finally started going away with some Nystatin, then quickly cleared up a few days ago, at the exact time we switched from Huggies to Pampers. Yesterday I bought some Kirkland diapers and put DS in them, and today the rash is back.

I’m already planning on returning an (open) box of Huggies to Costco because I took one diaper out and realized the entire box had a super strong chemical smell. Now I’m wondering if I’ll have to return the Kirkland ones too.

My son is 4.5 and still wakes up soaked. We're not ready to tackle nighttime potty training, and he's clearly not ready, so I'm not pushing it.

He usually sleeps in a pull-up (size 4T-5T). He has been waking up with wet sheets a couple nights a week - I think the pull-up is getting a little small.

Any recommendations at this point? Should we move to Underjams, or whatever they are called? Are they absorbent enough? He's very tall and skinny.

12mo has had a couple pimple looking bumps in her diaper for a couple days. I’ve put purple desitin on but looks the same. There’s really no real rash otherwise, not red or raw or anything and she’s not bothered by wiping.

Today I noticed it’s spreading - little whiteheads. It’s been 100+ and humid here so yeast definitely crosses my mind. We’re all so sweaty. Should I try adding an anti fungal in? Thoughts?

Can someone explain to me the difference between:

Huggies Overnights (Effectively a diaper)

Huggies Goodnights (More like undies or a pull up I guess? The label says 40% more absorbency. I can't seem to figure out if this is referring to just other brand similar products or to the diaper or what?)

Huggies PullUps Night time (Are these like normal pull ups but slightly more absorbant?)

My DD is getting a little big for the size 6 overnight diapers. The shape of her hips/size of her booty....something - they just don't seem like they are going to fit much longer. I don't want to move to a less absorbent product and am basically just trying to figure out if either of these other products are the right move.

Thanks!

My 18 month old started regularly soaking through overnight diapers several months ago. He is already in the size 6, so I’ve tried adding a sposie diaper liner. It worked ok for a while but lately he’s been soaked through more mornings than not and I’m constantly washing crib sheet and sleep sacks.

We were using up&up (target) overnights, and when those ran out recently I bought huggies to see if that might help, but I think it’s actually worse.

What’s the next step? Is there a next step?

DD, 3, has been pretty solidly daytime toilet trained since last summer. We have kept her in diapers for naps and bedtime. Her naps are becoming more erratic, but when she does take one, she can often stay dry through them. At night, she has stayed totally dry a handful of times, but usually pees A LOT. Sometimes she soaks through her diaper.

When I was looking into nighttime diaper options, I realized that pull-ups in the brand we use are actually cheaper than diapers! I would be okay with making the switch (though pull-ups seem less convenient), but do pull-ups absorb as much as diapers? More? Less?

Also, has anyone used cloth diapers at this stage? We cloth diapered primarily until LO was about 18 months old, and I could pull those back out again . . .

So my two boys are 2 years apart and I had some left over diapers from the 1st that I tried to use on my 2nd. Some worked fine whilst others were hard and crunchy. I assumed it was because they were old and had been out of the package for over a year but then I receieved a brand new box of huggies last week and the new diapers are also hard and crunchy! What gives?

I have never experienced that with new diapers straight out of the box. I've only been using huggies for a few months, I had previously always used pampers and I never had this issue with new diapers. Is this common?

Not sure where to post this but...our 11mo LO hates getting her diaper changed! It’s not actually the diaper but she refuses to lay still and it’s becoming really stressful especially when it’s poop. She just rolls and crawls away and if we hold her she squirms and screams. Sometimes I am almost in tears! We try toys, books, remote controls (ha) and nothing works to distract her. Sometimes we resort to the iPhone and even that isn’t fool proof. We have our ILs in town this week and they’ve offered to watch her but I don’t think they’ll be able to change her diaper. She can’t stand without holding on to something yet so doing it standing works ok once we’ve wiped but I can’t wipe her while she’s standing. Is there a secret tip out there? Or can you at least tell me this will get better as she gets older? I’m losing it! Thanks!

Please help! I’ve tried Pampers and the original Pull-Ups and I just don’t love the fit. LO had a blow out in the Pull-Ups brand that resulted in daycare having to change his top half. Blow outs period are just unusual, I can count on one hand how many he’s had in his entire life. He’s had leaks with both kinds. Both kinds we tried leave red marks on him. We bought 2/3 size, which is compatable with his pants.

What’s your recommendation?

ETA: the marks are not diaper rash, they just seem tight around the thigh area

Everyday for the past three weeks, my 1 yo LO has woken up around 5 am soaked from a diaper leak. He can't go back to sleep after, so ends up absolutely exhausted because he needs more sleep. Not to mention that DH and I are exhausted. I feel like it shouldn't be so hard, and am desperate for a solution, as it is really affecting all of us negatively.

The only liquids he has after 5 pm is breastfeeding before bed. He is night weaned, so not taking in any liquids over night. What's strange is that it started right around when we night weaned him. The only thing I can figure out is that now that he's night weaned, he's maybe sleeping more on his tummy since I'm not putting him in the crib on his back after a nighttime wakeup. He used to drink SO MUCH at bedtime (bf + large tank up bottle) and like 12 oz overnight, now he's drinking so much less, and yet the solutions that worked before aren't working so I'm mystified. Despite cutting way back on liquids, the diaper is still super full when we change it.

We've tried various combinations of different sizes, styles, etc of diapers. What seems to leak the worst is sonsie pad + diaper + cloth diaper cover. The best I've found is doubling up the pampers baby dry and adding a cloth diaper over that, but it still leaks.

I'm at a loss for what to do next - keep buying different brands of diapers and experimenting? I've been doing this for three weeks, though, and yet to have success. I don't think cutting liquids will work, since the only liquids he is getting between 5pm and waking up soaked at 5am is breastfeeding at bedtime, which I don't want to give up. Is there some way to encourage him to empty his bladder before putting him in the crib for the night? Or could peeing so much at night despite limited liquids be a sign of some health issue I need to talk to the pediatrician about?

Super curious to hear if others have had and solved similar issues...

I may be over thinking this... but would there be any issue with a three month old using a Sposie overnight? DS sleeps through the night but by 3am has soaked all the way through his sleepsack. I hate to wake him up just for a diaper change (he won't sleep through it, then will need rocked back to sleep).

DS has a paralyzed vocal cord, a g-tube and had aortic augmentation at five days so I am very sensitive to waking him up unnecessarily. I deeply believe healing is linked to rest.

So I spent half of last summer putting my kids in swim diapers (Huggies Little Swimmers) for playing in our baby pool, water table, and in a grown up pool before I realized that the reason the diapers don't blow up is that they don't contain pee at all. OOPS.

Now this summer - we are going to spend a week on vacation with access to a chlorinated pool for a small condo complex (18 units). I intend to take my kids in again - 2YOs. Is it wrong of me to put them in these diapers plus a normal swim suit? I've seen the iPlay resuable swim diapers at target - but I don't really understand how they would be any better at containing pee.

What are the social norms in this situation? haha.

I don't know if this board makes sense but ....

In the past 7 days DD has wet her car seat on the way home from daycare 3 times. They change her about 30 min before i pick up and at home her diaper isnt overly saturated. This was never a problem before.

She started in a new room at the beggining of march that does standing diaper changes.....which i admit to being skeptical of, but her diaper looks like its on right when i get home.

Do you think this is just time to go up a size?

She does leak any other time at home or in the car.

DD is almost 22 months.

Thanks!!

DS will be 2 in about 2 weeks and has recently started soaking through his diapers at night. I tried sizing up and it didn’t help. I hesitate to limit his water in the evenings bc he goes to daycare and probably doesn’t drink as much as he should. So, all that to say, which overnight diaper has worked best for you?

Ok, I'm out of ideas. O is leaking big time nearly every night. She's 22m, ready to daytime train, but she has kidney issues that necessitate water being available all of the time. So she sleeps with her straw cup and usually drinks 12-16 oz overnight.

We currently use target overnight diapers. Huggies overnights leak horribly. Sizing up doesn't seem to help. I've tried a few cloth combos and haven't found a good enough fit to prevent leaks. I think she pees a lot all at once, because sometimes the cloth diapers aren't even full when they leak. So maybe something that absorbs super fast?

Any other ideas?

My 7m has had a long term diaper rash that was diagnosed as yeast by the ped. We've switched to disposables, did 2 weeks of lotramin, almost finished with 2 weeks of nystatin, diaper-free time, cloth wipes (mostly), and I still see areas of rash. She is SUPER chubby, so it is really challenging to keep her folds dry even using the hair dryer. Anyone have some additional advice? We are using pampers swaddlers, but I'm wondering if a diaper brand switch might help?

The biggest diaper size DD1 wore was size 5 (Pampers Swaddlers) and then she moved onto underwear after that.

DD2 is almost 2 and her size 5s are looking snug! Thinking I might need to switch her to size 6 soon since she's nowhere near ready to potty train.

What size diapers is your 2 year old in?
