Just started Wegovy .25. I’ve gained 60 lbs in the last ten years, mostly after having IVF and all the hormones but this past year if you look at my weight chart, I’m gaining just like I did with my three pregnancies… but I’m not preggo. Just a busy mom with no time to care for myself.

I finally had a talk with my doctor and here we are. Goal is ~150 lbs and to feel more flexible, less old and achy, and to easily play on the floor with my kids at my age of 45.

Anyone else on Wegovy or another GLP-1?

I feel like it’s been mentioned a lot in multiple posts lately so thought it would be interesting to have people lay out how they are approaching it.

I started a version of it about 2 weeks ago. I’m not super consistent at this point, some days I’m doing 16/8 but some it’s like 13.5 fasting (and I’m still bf a toddler so I don’t want to be super strict ... my supply seems fine so far). Honestly just doing a clean fast overnight is a win for me.

I’ve been happy with results so far and how it’s making me feel. Mainly that I don’t feel annoyed with how much work it is to track or make meals nor do I feel deprived by a strict plan. But it’s also made a definite difference in my overall hunger I think which is huge. I’m not obsessing about food all the time which is so nice (I’ve also been really busy which helps).

If you’re into IF what is your approach?

I signed up for Noom based on the rave reviews from the other thread. Can any experienced noomers share your favorite foods, and meals that use mainly green and yellow foods? So far it feels like everything I eat is red! I’ve done WW in the past but never tracked calories so that is new to me too! Thanks!

I have gained about 20 pounds since DD was born in March. I weigh 211 at 5’9”. This is SO heavy for me. I’m wearing a size 16 jeans. My weight pre-pregnancy was about 180 and I just want to get back there. But with no gyms, lots of rain, 3 kids, etc... I feel like my weight loss resources are thin. Maybe I should just cut calories? Any advice?

Starting a new IF thread if anyone wants to join me for accountability and support!

I did IF 16:8 in the fall and lost 20 pounds. Well, 9 weeks into quarantine and 10 are back. I honestly haven’t tried to fast much since January and started baking etc and it all caught up to me. Not ok!!

The hard thing about restarting is that it’s way more natural to me to fast after lunch - I often did like 3pm-7am because dh worked long hours and I would just feed the kids dinner. Now we have family meals every night so I’m aiming for 6pm-10am but if I get 15 hours I’ll call it good. I really love eating when I get up so I just have to break the habit. My other plan is to cut the baking. I can keep ice cream and popsicles around for the kids no problem, but cookies and such are bad news. I can stick to breads which aren’t so tempting.

Anyone else want to join? I think we’ll (all 5 of us) be mostly home until mid July so I’m hoping to re-lose that 10 by then. And hopefully have habits built to stick with this plan longer - I knew skipping dinner wouldn’t work forever.

I thought it would be fun to add some dance workouts in the rotation - something that made it fun to to move. I tried a few videos on amazon and they so cringy I had to turn them off. The zumba one looked like a parody of the 2000's with a Mark McGrath wannabe. Anyway, anyone have a fun dance workout video they want to share? Streaming, or I wouldn't mind buying separately, but probably dont want to do a subscription service at this point

I'm so excited, because DH told me he's buying me a Peloton for my birthday next month! I currently go to a gym a few times a week, but it's so hard to make the time to drive over there, bring the kids to childcare and then find room in the class if I'm running late. I think working out at home would be great for those days I can't make it to the gym. If I like it enough, I may cancel my gym membership and just do stuff at home.

I know a few of you have mentioned having a Peloton, so for those that have one, do you have any tips for me like favorite instructors or how to get the most out of the bike? Do you do any other types of exercises in addition to using the Peloton? Also, I'm TTC, so have any of you used the Peloton pregnant?

I have started going to the gym more regularly, spending an hour on the elliptical. I really want to listen to audiobooks, but I can’t concentrate once my heart rate rises and I’m breathing hard.

I tried watching a movie, but I had the same problem. Maybe I need to pick something you don’t need to pay close attention to?

Listening to music is okay, I guess. I didn’t realize that moderate exercise (something more intense than walking, etc.) would limit me. Or do I need to try again and hope I get used to it? What do you do to distract yourself at the gym?

Wondering if anyone has tried Aaptiv or another workout app/service they'd recommend? I miss exercise and want to start moving a little more but am really constrained by my schedule and a crappy back so the best I can do right now is 15-30 minutes in the morning or after work, at home, off a laptop or my phone, locked in my small-ish home office (no equipment). I tend to gravitate toward strength training, pilates, yoga, and low intensity cardio because my back issues limit how much I can do otherwise. Aaptiv sounds like a potential option but they won't let me see what kinds of workouts they have so I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for other services that fit my criteria or reviews of Aaptiv and whether it would fit what I'm looking for.

I still sometimes feel guilty that I’m spending even more time away from my family, but I noticed in the morning routine thread a lot of you are taking that time on a regular basis too. I’m so impressed by anyone who gets up early to work out (though I’m more of an evening workout person). I’m wondering how much time do you spend on fitness in the average week?

Truth: I need to start working out. I've been lazy for too long. I really need to start getting up a little earlier and doing some morning workouts as that's the only way I'll get them in. Unfortunately, I'm someone that gets super red faced and very sweaty when I work out and/or get hot. So this has always posed a challenge after working out in the morning as it takes awhile to cool down. A cold or lukewarm shower doesn't help too much. And then I try to get ready for work and putting on makeup is a disaster as I'm still red faced and everything sweats off. Any tips on how to cool down faster so that I don't have another excuse for why I'm lazy. :)

Anyone interested in shedding a few pounds together for spring/summer?

Me: I'm 4 months pp and haven't yet found any time to get to a gym. The baby's nighttime sleep isn't totally predictable yet. I'm afraid that by going as soon as she goes to bed, I run the risk of using up all my precious sleep time there before she wakes up! So the only exercise I've been getting is walks with the stroller.

I need to eat better too. I'm very fortunate to still be on mat leave (Canadian) but find myself snacking a lot out of boredom while the baby naps. I stocked my fridge with healthier snacks this week.

Anyone else looking to get in shape for warmer weather?!

Does anyone have experience with knee injuries (treating in others or sustaining one yourself)?

About 6 weeks ago, I twisted my knee while reaching for the monitor in bed. The pain was really bad that night and the next day, but then went away.

4 weeks ago I started exercising/running again, 4 times a week.

2 weeks ago I noticed pain around my knee, sometimes on either side and sometimes on the top or bottom.

A week ago my knee got so swollen I couldn't bend it comfortably. I haven't worked out this week and the swelling is coming down.

I'm fine with going to see someone, but not sure what they could tell me. How do they discern between runners knee/IT band issues and something more serious? Won't the first step be to rest it for a few weeks anyway?

I had a positive ANA test (for some autoimmune disease) 6 months ago, but was negative for Lupus and Arthritis. So I just had my retest in which they redid the Lupus and Arthritis, but also tested for a thyroid condition. I was negative for everything except still had the high ANA.

I read on line that going gluten free can ease some of the symptoms in people with autoimmune diseases. I meet with the dr to discuss the results on the 15th, but I'm thinking maybe I need to go gluten free to ease the symptoms I'm having (fatigue, pain in fingers and toes, loose stools, dry skin on hands, etc.).

Serious dilemma. I’m getting really out of shape mainly because of logistics. How can I go on long walks/hikes or runs with a 3 year old and a 7 month old? When baby was newborn, I went on long walks with her in a carrier and big sister in the stroller. Now that baby is much bigger, I don’t think that’s feasible. I have a single Bob stroller. I considered getting a double but they’re so expensive and I assumed big sister won’t be wanting to ride in a stroller much longer anyway.

So, my options are to only exercise when big sis is at school (3 hours a day M/W) and possibly on Sundays when Daddy is home. Or, try to go daily with them both in tow.

Also, kind of freaked out about running outside after what has been in the news. So, maybe I should rejoin a gym.

Kind of rambling. Anyway, how do you fit workouts in with two or more littles?

It's not an uncommon news story to hear of a woman who's been attacked or gone missing while out on a run. I've been training for a half marathon and often have to fit my training runs in near dark, or am on semi-secluded trails and it's not really feasible to have someone with me for most runs. I've recently started considering that I should be carrying some sort of protection with me. I've seen rings that have a sharp spike on them, or pepper spray armbands before.

Do you runner bees carry any sort of protection when you're out running alone? Any recommendations?

Has anyone quit the gym to workout at home and been successful at it? I joined a gym several months ago, because I have a couple friends who go there, but each month I find that I'm going less and less. I like to do group exercise classes, but a lot of the class times don't work for my schedule. Plus, I have to bring my kids with me when I workout, so that adds another level of planning. The gym isn't cheap, and I'm wondering if I could save that money each month by working out at home and streaming online videos, but I don't know if I'll have the motivation to do it without a live instructor and others working out with me. Has anyone made the switch and made it work? Any thoughts on which is better?

Hey all.... so I am not a dieter and I don't have time to work out but I've really let myself go after having lo2 (feb 2017) so yeah.... I was giving myself a pass bc LO2 wasn't sleeping through the night but just recently he has started to more often and I feel like I need to get some focus back on myself and I'd really like to lose 5-10 lbs to start.

Soooooo anyone else want to join? I'm not going to be all about posting crazy work outs or diets (nothing wrong with those things though.... )

The few things I am going to do are:

1. reduce my mt dew intake.. yes this is my NUMBER one problem and I admit it. I am planning to cut it to 1-2 cans a day and I might even venture into the diet variety (eek)

2. don't eat out for lunch every day at work. I bought 3 healthy choice meals for lunches this week. So instead of eating out 5 times I will only eat out 2 times. ( OF COURSE THEY ARE SITTING IN MY FREEZER RIGHT NOW)

3. walk twice while at work. once in the morning and once in the afternoon.. just a 15-20 min walk twice a day

Jump in and post a plan or a not plan or come here for support or support me or whatever....

Let's lose a few lbs

What’s your favorite workout program or plan? I need to start working out again now that baby #3 is 3 months old and I’m back at work and in a routine. But I’m overwhelmed with options of WHAT I should be doing and will make the most difference! I have another 15lbs to lose and have zero tone right now. I can commit to 30-45 minutes a day, and can either use my offices gym or workout at home.

I’m considering starting the Keto diet/lifestyle. I want to get healthier and drop some weight. I’m slightly concerned about it affecting my milk supply. I also probably have to wait a bit because right now I’m dairy free for my intolerant babe. Anyone have Keto while breastfeeding experience?

My Fitbit recently stopped vibrating, and when I contacted support they told me it was outside the warranty date but gave me a link to get 25% off a new one. I’m not going to use it, but thought if somebody else was planning to buy one (from the fitbit site) I could pass along the code. Let me know if anybody wants it.
