I was having some bad PPD and shut down my account. Then I created an account named Coral for a brief stint and shut it down when we went through a bout of infertility and I was not coping well. So I am back (with the dumbest name possible) because I have pretty much been around for four years, and I love this community. But now that I'm back to work (and back on a desktop)....I'm back on HB! Hi ladies!</p> <p>Gideon Everett was born July 23. 7lbs9oz and 21.75" long. I had been having prodromal/non-productive contractions for two weeks and it was AWFUL. I knew I wasn't going to make it to my scheduled c-sec date (July 28) and I was right! After going to the hospital for the fourth time, they gave me IV fluids to try and stop the contractions (which were ever 5 minutes at this point). They were going to send me home since I wasn't dilating. Apparently, my insurance wasn't going to cover my csection before 39 weeks (I was 38w6d....for real) until it was "medically necessary" and I was dilating. Well, long story short, just as they were about to discharge me, my doctor checked my cervix one final time....and I had dilated 2cm. So....off we went! He was born via "emergency" csection 30 minutes later.</p> <p>I don't have too many newborn pics (since I'm on my work computer), but here are some I stole of fb. I guess having a new baby will do that to you! </p> <p>Just wanted to pop in and say hello and all is well! </p> <p>I'll try to keep this in a nutshell :)</p> <p>Landon was born on July 22, via emergency c-section. I was starting the induction process because of low fluid and a few iffy NSTs. His heart rate was all over the place pretty much right when we started though, so out he came! That night, he had to be transferred to another hospital because his heart rate didn't respond well to the abnormal breathing of a newborn. (It was dipping too low for their liking.) He was transferred around 2:30 in the morning. I was still pretty out of it, and this was a very weird time :( Luckily, he was allowed to come back to the clinic where he was born after 12 hours. The arrhythmia he had then is no longer found now. Although he does have 2 small openings that still need to close. They are tiny, and much smaller than they were at birth, and will be re-checked after he hits 6 months. </p> <p>We are so in love with our little man, and still can't believe after 3 years of trying that we finally and actually have him! We are traveling to the US on Friday so he can meet his whole family! I came back almost a year ago when my husband and I were talking about maybe trying in the spring. However, life got in the way, and along with that job changes, so our plans were put aside.</p> <p>Now that we're BACK across Canada home to Nova Scotia, and have both secured jobs again, we've decided to try for our second baby finally.</p> <p>Our daughter is 3.5 and obsessed with being a big sister, despite our constantly telling her "Not yet", and having to tell friends and family that no, we're not expecting.</p> <p>I took the last pill in my pill pack this morning, and after a month or two we'll actualy start trying. I came off the pill in August (after 15 years) in preparation for ttc and have been sent on a bit of a roller coaster ride since then with missing periods, strange cycles etc. While everything seems to be (fingers crossed) normalising now, I spent a LONG time Googling to look for other people's experiences. I found this site so useful (and so lovely!) that in the end I would just type 'hellobee' into Google before any query!</p> <p>I think I underestimated how up and down this whole process can be. It's quite a private thing for me but I still feel I need support and to be able to share my experiences.
