I know the infertility board isn't active at the moment, but I'm at a loss on what to do next.

I conceived our first pregnancy naturally, but we ended up having a tfmr as the baby was not healthy. We then struggled to conceive again (unexplained infertility) and did multiple failed IUIs followed by one IVF cycle which resulted in 10 embryos. Our almost 3 year old daughter is from that batch of embryos so I figured when we wanted to try for a sibling it would be simple and work quickly. Unfortunately I've now had 3 failed FETs while trying for a sibling. If anyone has any experience with something like this I'd love to know what you did next or would suggest. I'm devastated and worried we won't be able to grow our family.

As of now I'm thinking we should test our remaining 5 embryos even though it gets me nervous to thaw them to test them and then refreeze and then thaw again for transfer if any are healthy. I'm also going to ask to do an ERA. I did an endometrial biopsy to check for endometritis/infection back in Feb and that was all clear so I didn't see the need for an ERA since I've has a successful pregnancy with the standard timing. I really don't want to do another egg retrieval. Any other suggestions or advice on what to do next? I'm at a loss as this has been totally unexpected.

Here's my IVF history:
1 egg retrieval resulted in 10 embryos
Fresh transfer - chemical
FET - 3 year old daughter
FET - chemical
FET - chemical
FET - negative

After 9 consecutive failed transfers (including 7 PGS normal embryos), we've finally decided to do an ERA. Our RE wasn't a fan of the ERA as there's mixed evidence that it makes a difference, but we've exhausted all other testing options.

It seems that 75-80% of people who do an ERA are in the right window, and nothing changes. I'm wondering if anyone has done one and ended up outside the receptivity window and changed their protocol because of it?

I wrote this out but then it didn’t post. Sorry if it ends up being duplicate

Our clinic has suggested we should move right to IVF.
We’re in Canada (Nova Scotia)
I’m 35, DH is 36
We’re both healthy.
Eveything indicates I ovulate on my own and DH’s FSA was fine.

It sounds like they’ll do a short course IVF but I’m still really unclear on anything. I’m waiting for answers from the clinic.

Any advice or insight is welcome!

Ok ladies, I am freaking out a little here. I had a frozen embryo transfer last Thursday with a day 6 embryo. Went for my beta today and the online portal shows that my HCG is only 65 today (15dpo)...does this seem too low for where I am at to be a viable pregnancy? I have checked betabase and it says the median for the same day is 194!

I understand the importance of doubling but would apprecite any commiseration or good thoughts

hi guys - so i had my 2nd u/s today after four days of stims, and my follicles are all less than 6mm. The doctor thinks I am a slow responder. I am awaiting the estradiol level results and should get them this afternoon.

The doctor says he is still cautiously optimistic, but he's upping my dose from 300 units gonal-f to 375, and says it could go either way. Thoughts? Experiences?

It is hard doing this again. I am 3.5 years older and apparently my ovarian reserve has taken a severe dive in the meantime. My AMH is slightly above 2 (compared to nearly 7 before), but I feel like 2 isnt terrible and i should be responding. right?? ugh. :|

Thank you.

Thankfully, I have only had to have IUIs and have never experienced IVF. But, I feel like I know quite a bit about it just because I've dealt with fertility issues and read/listen to A LOT pertaining the process.

A friend of mine is going through IVF right now for the first time after years of no success with IUI or TI. After spending $30,000, they just found out that out of 16 eggs, only one is viable and that her egg quality is poor. (She's only in her early 30's.)

She told me they didn't do any testing in her egg quality prior to recommending and pursuing IVF. After years of treatment with the same clinic, she doesn't know her FSH level and hasn't even had her AMH checked (which I know is more for quantity than quality, but STILL!).

My question is, is her clinic being unethical by not doing these tests and taking her $30,000 and all her hopes and dreams for a baby and pursuing IVF anyway?

Today is CD 5 of my first cycle of IVF. I had a baseline US on CD2 but they didn't count any follicles at that one.

I have high AMH (8.3) due to PCOS
I respond well to femera, clomid, etc.

So i was expecting a lot of follicles.

I only have 3 on the left and 3 on the right between 8 and 11cm. The person who called was not very reassuring that there would be more... I thought I would be a high responder, they're worried about OHSS for me, so I thought it would be more than 6

How close were those initial US counts to what you ended up with?

Hi guys -

I found out today my FET cycle involving my two 3bbs failed. I am pretty upset but trying to make sense of it. When I went through IVF, my diagnosis was mild PCOS, mild endo (dx'd on laparoscopy) and for the most part: unexplained.

We did a fresh cycle, had 17 fertilized eggs, and 7 grew to blasts, which sounds fantastic but out of those 7 blasts only one was "good" - the rest were all fair to poor. I transferred the good one plus one fair one and my son resulted. Suspect he was the good one and I am immensely thankful for him.

Transferred two of the fair ones about two weeks ago and no pregnancy - nothing, zilch. My clinic is advising I not transfer any of the remaining 3 due to the fact they look poor. So I'm looking at starting a fresh cycle all over again.

Is this normal or do you guys think that the fact I had ONE viable embryo at age 31 (i'm now 35) does not bode well for me at all?? I thought my 31 year old embryos would do well and implant. I am sad and worried about my odds going through this all over again. Meeting with my doc friday :( Thanks.

How soon can you start a round of IVF after delivering? I read different things online about not being able to start until after your period starts, but it's common that you don't get your period while breastfeeding, right? I'm due in January but thinking in advance. Ideally would like to breastfeed as long as possible, but at the same time, I'm getting old and I know I have to do PGD testing (and a whole new egg retrieval cycle, I don't have any frozen embryos) and it just all takes a really long time, so I don't want to wait too long. Just wondering what other people's timelines were?

Hi all,

I am planning to freeze my eggs in the next two months or so. This is an incredible emotional experience for me, yet I am very determined to do this :)

Unfortunately my insurance does not cover any fertility medication costs AT ALL, so everything comes out of my own pocket. I've been doing extensive research on various well known USA based pharmacy like MDR, Freedom, Walgreens Specialty, all quoted me over $4,500!!

Then I come across these two oversea pharmacy that specialize in fertility drugs.

IVFmeds.com
IVFpharmacy.com

Has anyone used either of these? the cost is 50% than what I have to pay at USA based pharmacy, but i am very hesitant since I can't seem to find reliable reviews.

Please kindly advise if you have used either of these two, and what was your experience dealing with them? My main concern is the authenticity of the drugs.

Please help :bummed:

Not for me, asking for my best friend.
She did ivf, and her first beta draw was around 75. Her next draw was almost double 48 hours later, but not quite, but her doctor was happy with it. I can't remember exactly, but we'll say 145. Her next draw was a week later and only went up around 50, lets call it 200 total. She was prepared to miscarry, but now, 48 hours later her numbers doubled again.
She's not hopeful at all, but does anyone have any positive outcomes from a situation like this? Or know why it could be happening?

My husband and I are starting to look into the FET process to try for #2. I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing their protocol and experience with FET. We're trying to plan how much money to put into our Flex account for meds and stuff, but our appointment with the RE isn't until January, so we have to guess, pretty much. Any information you can share would be great! Thanks!

Simply devastated when I was told how much the IVF meds would run. Does anyone know of organizations or groups that can help with donations of medications? My RE does not have any donated meds available.

This year my husband and I went through IVF and are blessed to be pregnant finally! After all the meds I ended up having a bunch of estradiol patches 0.1 MG left and it kind of kills me to throw them away! Does anyone know if there is another option? Has anyone else dealt with leftover meds? Appreciate any advice!

Hello!

My husband and I are trying to wade through a new infertility diagnosis and figure out the best way to use our limited insurance coverage.

My RE wants a few more tests before deciding our next course of action. My brain doesn't work on "wait and see" so I've been researching like crazy the different next steps. I found one of the clinics we are considering for a second opinion is offering an IVF trial. Its a comparison study of two FDA approved medications. I was just curious if anyone has participated in a similar study or if you would consider participating in a study like this. It sounds like a good opportunity but I wonder if I am overlooking some obvious negatives.

I'm moving to the east bay (Alameda) in October and though we're able to squeeze in one last attempt at an FET before we leave I'll still need follow up monitoring locally when we get to the Bay Area, and possible work up for another attempt if I get a BFN. I asked my RE's office for recs but also thought bees might have a good sense of what's out there. Thanks!

I'm 31 and am on the max dosage of meds and I'm barely responding. On day 8, estrogen was only 259. I go back in tomorrow to recheck and if I don't have at least 3-4 eggs, the cycle will be cancelled. Anyone have similar issues? This is killing me. All my initial testing didn't show any low ovarian reserve.
