What are you all planning on?

I'm not even sure what state we'll be in... All our adult friends and family are in Boston, but the only toddlers DS knows are here in Maine.... hmm...

Also, didn't do much at all last year in terms of theme or real party, but am sort of flirting with the idea of a simple primary color theme this year. :)

Is anyone else crazy like I am? I'm already beginning to plan R's 1st birthday party. We have a date set - July 5 - so it will be a week and a half after her 1st birthday. I wanted the school year to be over and my sister is going to fly home for the holiday weekend so it seemed like a good date.

I really want to keep the party small but I have a huge family. It doesn't look like I can throw a small, low key party like I'd prefer. I'm trying to keep costs down though so it will either be at our house (small) or my parents' house (we'd have to clean and do yard work).

I'm trying to decide on a theme.

So far, I am only feeding A breakfast and lunch and I have no idea if I am giving him enough food. I guess I am because he usually leaves some on his tray that I save for later or throw out.

I know we need to start including him in dinner soon, but I don't know how to do it. We have been eating after he goes to bed, DH usually starts cooking while I nurse him to sleep. I guess we can start eating earlier and keeping him up a little later?

Just curious what you other girls are doing with your LO's for dinner!

A spin off of the birthday party thread but what are you buying your LO for their 1st birthday?

I admit I am having a hard time coming up with a good gift for DD. My problem is that she is my 2nd and so we have a ton of stuff already from her older brother. They will be having a joint party since their birthdays are the 2 weeks apart so I cant throw 2 parties so they are getting a joint one (and probably hear after for the rest of their lives until they are older) Its easy to find gifts for my son since every stage is new with him and Im having fun researching new stuff for him but its harder with DD since we just have so much. They are only 3 years apart so he still plays with a lot of the toys that she could play with too. I will be buying them both books (I always buy books as gifts) so that I can figure out but Im trying to set a limit on gifts and cost since I can overbuy easy for my son but want it to be equal and fair too. I was thinking of getting my son maybe a larger gift (a subscription to Kiwi Crate for a few months maybe) and then another gift to open at the party since Kiwi Crate is a mail thing and he might not get it on his birthday. But then what to get DD. I thought of maybe getting her a large gift too that both she and her brother could play together (like the Fisher Price Learning House Door thing ) and something small just for her? I dont know. Its so hard to figure out. I thought about the Cozy Coupe but Im sure her brother will want that. I feel like anything I get her he will want and I kinda just want to make sure she gets something of her own (even if she is too young to really know or care) since she is sharing so much and always will since she is my 2nd. Thoughts or suggestions? Am I being silly? Its 2nd baby guilt that she never has anything for just her

Ok so I just found this area :) Im a bit dumb when it comes to these forums it seems :/ How is everyone? Can you believe a year is creeping up? Im so sad. I was never a baby person but DD is such a sweet snuggly baby I cant get over it. I love her as a baby and want her to stay this way forever. GAH She gives me baby fever so bad but its baby fever for her to stay a baby not a new baby, does this make sense?? Anyways wanted to connect and say hi to all the other June mamas.

I'm starting to experience my first waves of it. Yikes! We defintely want 2+ but for the first while, and some days still I can't even imagine doing this all over again!

How are the rest of you ladies with this?

Checking in! What (if anything?) are you getting your LO's for the holidays? Are they getting their grandparents anything?

I'm torn between a photo book, mug or ornament... I tried DIY salt dough ornament this week and realized his hands make ornaments that are too big and heavy to hang from a tree... d'oh!

I'm starting this thread. While my baby was actually born May 28, she won't be home with us until June 5, so I think I fit here. I was also due in June.

Here is my birth story.
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/baby-girls-birth-story-lazylightnings-fevers-and-nicu-and-other-such-biz

For recovery I'm dealing with...

---3rd degree tear + vaginal tearing
---overall body stiffness (from pushing so hard I think)
---swelling from the 'fatmaker' fluids (I lost 4 lbs in a day due to this, wow)
---random episodes of shaking/trembling (probably anxiety)
---drying up my breastmilk

My baby is still in the NICU and will be until at least Wednesday June 5. I miss her terribly, though I know she's there getting super healthy and strong.

Hello, just thought I'd start this out! Got the BFP on 9/23, Sunday, 10DPO. I would have been due for my period today (12DPO/CD25) but not this time! :)

Not sure what to say here so here are some details, I copied this layout from the May 2013 board.

Location: northern midwest.
EDD: June 6
How far along: 3w 6d
First child? Yes
First Dr. Appointment:
I called my OB office and the receptionist told me the doctors don't like to see patients until 12 weeks along. Seems late to me, but OK. I actually made the appointment for week 11 because i will be out of town week 12. Come on, Nov. 14!
How do you feel/symptoms?
I'm bloated and a little crampy. Been having waves of nausea since Saturday (before my BFP!). Boobs a little sore today too, but haven't been up until now. I threw up once today after smelling something foul that took me by surprise. All very manageable so far. No cravings, though I have a big appetite (and eating helps if I feel nauseous).
Who have you told? Husband.

Hi ladies!
I know it's early but does anyone have any instincts whether their little appleseed is a boy or girl?

I'm thinking boy - but maybe only because our preference would be a boy (of course we'd be happy with a healthy baby either way).

I had two dreams the week leading up to my BFP that I had a BFP... so I'm hoping I'll have some dreams that will point me in the right direction!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who tears up at the Carter's commercial they keep running on tv these days. It follows a baby girl from her birth to her first day of school and is narrated by some little girl who has the cutest voice! Sniff, sniff...

I've had a few.

---I've eaten deli meat a few times without even thinking about it/realizing it was not a good idea till after i ate the thing. (I was just so happy to be able to eat SOMETHING!)

---I took some Pepto (not a full dose though) last night because I was in so much pain and I knew it would help.

Anyone else having any food aversions yet? So far I cannot stomach the idea of eating a tomato or any raw veggies like carrot or celery sticks. I usually eat these all the time as snacks, but I can barely look at them now. I haven't been able to do seafood, either. I wish I understood why, I find it very interesting.

My only cravings are for foods that don't sound like they will make me sick. Just bland things like plain chicken, potatoes or popcorn and salty things like bacon and sausage. And lots of fresh fruits.

I feel sick all the time, but hungry, too so I just try to force myself to eat, even though I usually feel sick afterwards.

I try to remember it is only temporary and that it is all for a good reason if it means there is a healthy baby in there.
