March 2014 mamas - I hope everyone is doing well! I was curious, especially if you're staying at home all day with your LO's, what are your days like?

LO is 8 weeks and our days still mostly revolve around feeding and trying to get some good naps in. We go for walks a couple times a day (when the weather lets us) and also when LO is in a good enough mood to get out the door. Activity time usually consists of time on the Activity Mat, listening/singing to music, introducing new simple toys which he doesn't really care too much about yet and just talking with him.

We've had some seriously fussy days, some well-balanced days and some peaceful days where he sleeps a ton. Basically just when we think we have a good schedule/flow going, something changes but we're going with the flow.

For those of you who are planning on more kids, when do you think you will start trying?

Since it took some time to get pregnant the first time, I am so tempted to start trying again ASAP. But I would like to try and lose some weight before I start trying again. So maybe TTC this summer? What about you?

So post pictures of your baby's nursery! I want to see everyone's hard work

Okay ladies, we're getting to the end some thought it would be fun to do a round up!

Due/induction/section date: EDD = March 14

Gender: unknown, team green

Name(s): top secret until LO arrives

Other LOs: 1 DD who turns 2 in March

Current status of baby(ies): all is well with baby, though s/he MIGHT be breach, it's still early enough to flip him/her. I've been doing lots of inversions.

Current status of mama: so sore. My back and pelvic bones ache all the time. Chiro and massage help a ton though.

Current status of the rest of your family: DH and DD are doing great. He's been a super great help taking on more with DD.

Showers: 2nd baby so no shower this time

Things left to do: clean out the nursery that has become our junk room and sort though our newborn clothes. Pack our bags for the hospital too, though we still have lots of time left.

What are you ladies doing for winter coats? I'm debating whether to fork over cash for a maternity coat or maybe buy one a size larger than normal. My winter coat already does not zip up and it's finally gotten cold where I live. What are you doing? I was pregnant last time in the summer so didn't have to think about this!

When is your next appointment? Monday August 12th!

How for along will you be? 8 weeks 5 or 6 days! lol

ETA: it's my first appointment with the MW! I also have one scheduled with my regular doctor two days later, but if I like the MW and we end up going that route, I'll cancel the one with my doctor.

Hey March moms -
Just wondering how you are all doing with weight gain/loss? In the first 8 weeks I lost about 5lbs, but at my 12 week ultrasound I was up about 10 from my pre-pregnancy weight!!! I think it was partially to do with the doctors scales vs my scales, but still, I got pretty nervous. I lost about 25 lbs prior to getting pregnant and I would love to just get back up to my fat weight during the pregnancy, and not go much higher. Since my 12 week apt I've been eating more sensibly and trying to walk a lot, and I've only put on about 1 lb since then. I know I have to gain weight but I'm so worried about ballooning and not being able to lose the weight after. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be one of those women who gets back into her pre-pregnancy clothes just by breastfeeding and walking with the stroller - it takes work for me, so I'd rather not start from a ridiculous postpartum weight.

Anyway - how are you all feeling about this? Anyone interested in a support thread for healthy weight gain/exercise in pregnancy, esp for the last 3-4 months?

BTW - I'm not very active on the March 2014 thread - I'm 16w6d today.

I think DH and I are planning on skipping the NT scan. I think I'll be too anxious if the results come back with any increased odds. I'm more of a yes/no person rather than maybe. Did anyone get the Maternit21/Harmony test done? I have a dr. appt next Tues and might be interested in this test. I also need to check with insurance to see what they cover. Did your insurance cover these tests? If not, how much did you pay OOP?

When I was 7 weeks, I had an u/s and we saw a heartbeat, but the baby measured a week behind. I was having longer cycles before I got pregnant (30-32 days), so the doctor said I probably ovulated late and changed my due date to March 28th. Since then, I've had an uneasy feeling that something was wrong. Last week, my stomach kind of popped out a bit and I started feeling pregnant, then it went away. The last few days I haven't really felt nauseas, though that is kind of normal for me. Then, last night and this morning, I have had a little spotting. I know that spotting can be normal, but I just can't shake this bad feeling. Luckily, I already had an appointment with my new doctor (my old one doesn't do VBACs) today after work, so hopefully everything is ok.

I just really hope I don't start bleeding a lot at work. I'm a high school teacher and I don't know how I'll handle that...

Have you had any scares like this? How did you deal with it?
