I'm looking to find a practical dress that is a little nicer than jersey knit.

Struggling to figure out where to shop.... Gap, Carters, Macys, Gymboree, Children's Place..... were not tickling my fancy this weekend....... Any other stores / online shops you would think to look at ?

I have a petite/skinny 7 year old and am having the hardest time finding her joggers and/or sweats for this winter. Every pair I find is huge in the waist. The best fitting ones I’ve found so far were at the Gap outlet…but even those are big. Where should I be looking?!

Help! My super skinny nine year old daughter is into dressing a bit more like a "tween" these days, and needs some skinny jeans (or jeggings) for school. Does anyone have brand and style suggestions for us?

Hanna Andersson slim leggings had been our solution the past few years, but she wants something she can wear with more adult looking blouses (i.e., with pockets on the back).

For reference she's about 48 lbs and 52 inches - basically a maximum size 5T or 6 waist, but a size 8 length, with no rear or thighs to fill things out. The fact that wide leg and "mom jeans" are being pushed style-wise, even for kids, totally does not help! Although I guess it will make it less obvious that her jeans are not intentionally loose? I don't know...I am pretty devoted to skinny jeans myself and am having trouble getting on board this fashion train. It reminds me too much of middle school!

Any good sources for tights beyond toddler sizes? I am looking for the thicker cotton ones that are heavy enough to keep legs warm in cooler weather, in non-neutral colors.

I may just order from Primary again, as that is where we got the now-outgrown tights, but wanted to look around at other options. I have been surprised by how few I have found!

We are getting family photos done for the first time ever and I could use some hive help figuring out our outfits. I'm pretty set on my own outfit, DD and DS1's outfits. DS2 I'm not sure if it will look weird for him to wear a button down if his brother has a t shirt on? (In person it is navy and flannel so matches the dress pretty well). I can't find a t-shirt in toddler size that compliments the colors in DD's dress and doesn't clash with DS1's yellow shirt. Also any ideas for DH? He'll wear jeans but not sure with what! Thanks!

Piggy backing Ms. Carrot’s question but I’m from the South and we are going internationally for the month of December to somewhere colder than what we are used to. Less snow and rain but more cold and windy. Average temps are like 40s. We won’t be walking too much bc we are renting a car but will still be outdoors occasionally.

What do I need fo kids besides heavy jacket? Do they need boots? Or can we do with regular tennis shoes. I have jackets, hats, mittens. Do I need like long Johns for them? Where do we even get kids long Johns?

Yes, I want to be that guy and get our family into matching holiday pajamas this year :silly:

I've come across a few issues- one is cost. 4 sets of pajamas from Hanna Andersson ain't gonna be cheap. Have you had any success with less expensive brands?

The other is sizing- baby will be barely two months and I notice in a lot of family sets, there's nothing smaller than 6-12 mos.

So I needs some matching pajamas that are cute but not gimmicky, available in newborn-6 mos sizes, kids 8-10, mom, and dad, and maybe possibly won't break the bank? Any recs?

I know this is crazy right now, but my mom somehow got a free "legacy" portrait when she bought her new car. Time is running out to use the certificate, and now we just had to change it to next week (from next month). I need to style my kiddos--fast (like Amazon Prime fast)! And preferably kind of cheap, since none of this will probably be worn again (no weddings this summer ;) )

I have DD1, DS5, and DS7. I'm attaching a photo from their website about the "tone" of the photos.

Oh, and no parents. I noped right out of that immediately. This is for my parents' home. So just the kiddos.

Help!

So I'm dreaming about doing a mini pro photo session with my kids sometime next month when we move to Phase 2, to try and capture my last baby before he's not a baby anymore! He's already 9 months (cue the sobs). I'm stumped on what clothes to pick. My older two are girls and I've gotten good at the dress coordinating thing. But a boy? No idea! I want him to still look like a baby, so ideally more of a romper type outfit, though my husband thinks babies in suits are adorable. We live in the Pacific Northwest, and wanted outdoor foresty type photos. I'm imagining like hipster-PNW-outdoorsy kid photos. Help me channel my pandemic angst with some online shopping! What outfits or stores should I look at? Ideas? 5.5 and 3 year old girls, and then will be 10 mo old (very chunky) boy. Thanks!

He doesn’t have much there to hold anything up, but I feel like I should be able to find underwear to cover his butt crack even if his pants sag.

My brother is getting married in Aruba over Labor Day weekend, and my 7 year old daughter will be their flower girl. Per my brother, this is a super casual wedding, about 20 people max, my husband is doing their photography, their friend is officiating, my brother is likely wearing linen, that kind of thing. The ceremony will be at sunset on the beach - knowing my brother it'll be 10-15 minutes max.

My mother has taken this to mean she needs to get my daughter a super frilly fancy chiffon dress. I put my foot down because a) casual wedding and b) my daughter runs hot and all our experience with chiffon, especially outside in the Caribbean, are sweat-inducing.

That said, where do I go about looking for a dress that might meet my mother's standards (fancier than a beach/summer dress, which I find ridiculous given my brother's vibe but I don't feel like fighting with my mother about it) and mine (cotton/lightweight fabric that won't turn my kid into a hot mess; preferably a flare/a-line dress because she hates seams and likes ones that just flow on her; color doesn't matter but something summery would be great). I got her a couple cute swing dresses from Hanna Andersson recently and my mother said they're too casual.

Does this exist? Cat n Jack from Target had really nice denim jogger pants in toddler sizes. Now DS is a size 5 but he’s still only 4 so he can’t really do buttons well. We have a decent pair with a drawstring waist from Old Navy but the waist is huge and the drawing barely tightens. He’s tall and thin, and brands I could try that are reasonably priced?

Has anyone seen light (non-fleece) non-form-fitting long sleeve/long pant PJs for 6-7 year old girls anywhere? I bought a bunch of sets from Target this fall - https://www.target.com/p/girls-llama-pajama-set-cat-jack-violet-navy/-/A-77520194?preselect=54648931#lnk=sametab - but they're all mostly sold out now and my kid wears long PJs almost year-round for playtime/hanging out at home so ours are wearing out pretty fast and getting too small for her as she's hitting a growth spurt. All I'm finding everywhere are the typical form-fitting ones that my kid hates. Any other alternatives I'm not thinking of (loose pants and shirts of some other variety?) Thank you!

My 6.5 year old has hated jeans for years (no waistbands, no seams), and recently started protesting soft jeggings as well. The only pants she'll really wear is leggings, which is fine most of the time, but it does get cold on occasion here (VA) and I want her to wear something a little warmer for recess/outside activities when it's in the 20s/low 30s. Unfortunately anything fleece-lined is also out because she runs warm and fleece makes her sweat almost on contact. Anyone find anything else that's warmer than typical leggings but not jeans/jeggings/fleece-lined? A few years ago Kohls and Children's Place had thick leggings that worked really well for her but I haven't seen them since then :( Doubling up regular leggings and light sweats is my current idea but that gets cumbersome at school so I'd like to find something she can wear on its own.

DD1 has 1 hand me down nightgown and I usually let her wear it with a random pair of PJ leggings. We live in the USA-NE so I don't think I'd let her just wear the nightgown with no pants, esp since she kicks off her comforter.

She is asking for more night gowns but I'm hesitant because then I'm always pairing them with random PJ bottoms, thus breaking up the other sets? Am I way overthinking this??

Anyone have a peter pan style collar shirt that looks cute under jumpers that you would recommend? DD is 3 and has a super cute cord jumper, but we can't figure out what to pair it with.

I’m looking for a jean-ish legging for a 5yo girl. The cat and jack ones I bought keep getting holes but if I could that that legging with a reinforced knee that would be great. Any recommendations for something like that? Mostly worn under dresses etc

I’m thinking of having my 7yo wear this sweater dress for Christmas photos (outside) - I’m worried the grey is too blah though. Her coloring overall looks fine with it (doesn’t wash her out) but seems a little boring? I don’t know how to accessorize it though. I think she’ll need tights and white tights seem to add to the blah but what else could you use? I was thinking she could wear a red headband maybe.

4yo brother is wearing a mostly navy and red sweater. 1yo sister is wearing a little red plaid dress so I guess she’ll have white tights also.

Thanks for any ideas! Clothes for size 7+ are so hard!

I finally settled on a dress for our 18 month old for the adoption next month. Now I need something for the 4 year old. These are the options I've found so far that she MIGHT go for.

My teeny five year old (33lbs, 41” tall) will only wear sweatpants. I care deeply about what he wears and it’s killing me - he looks like he got dressed out of a lost and found all the time, in giant t-shirts and sweatpants suuuuper cinched in at the waist. Can anybody suggest some skinny-fit sweatpants available in Canada?

LO has decided that she wants to be a pumpkin for Halloween. I have a cart full of orange clothing from Primary, but before I order, is there anywhere else I should be looking for solid colored separates for kids? Neither Old Navy nor Lands End has orange right now (that I saw).
