My friend is still pregnant with twins (and she already had a 2 year old) and I'm wondering what I should bring to the hospital when they are born. The genders are a surprise. I typically bring the Mustela newborn kit, but I was wondering if there was something I should do geared toward multiples?

https://www.amazon.com/Mustela-Newborn-Arrival-Gift-Set/dp/B01NA7ZMIA/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1499861293&sr=8-8&keywords=mustela&th=1

Any ideas?

I'm having twins in June. I have an almost three year old. The infant car seat I had with my 3 year old is no longer available for sale (britax b safe). Their new version (Britax b safe 35) uses a different base. How annoying is it going to be that they don't match? Should I buy two new ones instead of one? I can't tell if it's going to be a constant pain trying to get there right twin into the proper spot in the car that matches their seat or if it's not that big of a deal. I kind of want to stick to the same brand so they both fit in my double stroller

Any advice?

Calling all twin moms.....

I feel like there is something I am missing that is super obvious....

Getting ready to switch to our big kid car seats (twins are 16 months) and I can't figure out how to safely bring them into the house when we get home from daycare each day.

Currently, I park the car in the driveway, carry the car seats in one at a time, return to the car and pull it into the garage (the passenger side has so little room to open the door so I could never navigate a car seat in or out on that side), then go to my babies and let them out of their car seats.

Moving forward, I think I would still have to do the park in the driveway gig and put the kids into the house before I pull the car in.

Anyone have any "safe" ideas for how to do this so they don't run like mad people around the house....... or bang their heads on the floor (a current joy...).......I'm afraid if I gate them in a super small area, they will hurt each other (we are entering a biting/hair pulling phase....)

Help!

You guys!! I just got a call from one of my closest friends that they got the twins news at their u/s this morning. We were so excited to be pregnant with baby #2 at the same time, and now they're having 2&3!!!

I don't know how twin parents handle this news - within like 45 seconds I went from thinking they were lying, to crying, to laughing, to having dry mouth, lol.

I'm excited to read through some of the twin threads here to see how I can support them. They already have a 3 year old (we do too), so I'm guessing a lot of our help will be in the shape of helping them with LO1. If you have any tips for supporting them, I'd love to hear!

Our B/G twins are 13 months. I can't imagine having them in separate rooms at this point...it feels like we would be cutting some invisible cord.
And yet, I know it has to happen.
We're currently thinking that we'll wait until they start transitioning to toddler beds. Maybe try doing naps in separate rooms first?
It will feel...just...WRONG to have them apart, but I know it will happen eventually.
Any tips?

A friend and I got her the Breza formula maker which she said has been a godsend. But I'd also like to continue to get her useful and/or cute twin things. She's one of my very best friends (1 of 2 bridesmaids in my wedding). So I'll probably continue sending things here and there. Any and all recommendations welcome. Even websites or stores to look at would be good.
Oh and she has a 2.75yo girl already. So she has lots of girl stuff but not a lot of boy. No idea if that matters but sharing anyway.

How do you react?

I'm not confrontational so I keep my mouth shut, but if I have the opportunity to say that they are IVF babies, I will.

I do cringe when I hear it. They have no idea how that question can be offensive to IVF mommas. I think the better way is to ask if twins run in the family.

Though, I think using the word 'natural' in parenting or pregnancy is bad, too.

Mid August I have professional photos scheduled for my twins and I am in a total loss as to how to dress them. They aren't Itty bitty newborns anymore..... we scheduled photos for this time so they'd have more personality to capture.

I feel like if I'm paying for someone to take their pictures I probably want something other than the Gerber onesies they usually wear.......

Anyone take pro pics at this age? Or just better at baby fashion than me and have some suggestions? Thanks!

We might be taking a 9 month old girl this week. That will mean two crawlers at once. Not twins, but similar situation. Any gear recommendations to make life easier? Double stroller is the first thing on the list. Any brilliant ideas for double bedtime and nap time routines? This would be a long term placement, not respite, so we are willing to invest a little in order to make life liveable.

With mine, there's usually a couple weeks difference. DS started crawling about a month ago. DD is just starting to crawl. I know it's all within normal.

Same with starting solids (purees), we both tried giving them purees. DS loved it. DD didn't like it until 2-3 weeks later and maybe didn't like the cereal like DS does.

"Mothering Multiples: Breastfeeding and Caring for Twins or More!" by Karen Kerkhoff Gromada

However, can only seem to find used copies for close to $30....seems like a lot.

Is it just me but having twins and both babies crying doesn't bother me. There's always one baby crying. Yes, when they are screeching, it's definitely bothers me while I rush to get bottles or while I'm changing one.

I wonder if it's because I'm a twin mom and as long as it's a little bit of crying, they'll live until I get to them in a few minutes.

I feel like my brothers and sisters who had one kid at a time, feel bad when one of my babies is crying. It's kinda a way of life for us for one baby to be crying.

I'm probably a bit ahead of myself but I'm a planner and a doer, and the best approach to being pregnant with twins is for me to have answers!

In Googling I'm seeing a mix of 3 sleep solutions; sharing a crib from day 1, in their own cribs from day 1, or sleeping in something like Rock n Plays and worrying about transitioning later.

We have a very large master that takes up our top floor (loft style), then their bedroom would be down about 8 stairs on the main floor. We could fit a crib in our room for the beginning, or obviously RNPs. I'm not thrilled about having them in their own room so soon at night, but will consider it if the consensus is that 2 cribs from the start is best.

Any opinions are welcome!

Since I type 'babies' so often that I have issues typing the word 'baby's'. I usually have to correct myself afterwards.

DH says he has the same problem.

Did/do you have this issue?

My guys are 2.5 and still in cribs. The last few weeks have been...different. Fighting bedtime but eventually going down. They do stay put in their cribs but they will bang on the walls and sometimes scream...mostly chatting, though. Now they're in this phase where they want their blankets laid over them, then they'll throw them out of the crib, then scream for DH or I to come give them their blankets. Questions:
1) is this reason to transition to toddler beds? Sometimes they're awake an hour past when we put them in the cribs. I'm thinking maybe if they were free to play in their room they'd be happier?
2) when did you switch to toddler beds/floor mattresses/whatever other options there are?
3) Am I just overthinking this? They used to go down so easily. We have already moved bedtime a little later. I just feel personally so "on edge" until I know they're asleep.

How are you guys doing?
How old are your LOs?
Any milestone to share?
Are you struggling with anything? Or is there anything that you thought was going to be hard but ended up being not so bad?

I'm not techniquely a mom, yet, but I'm almost 23 weeks with my b/g twins. The only milestone that I have is... DH felt baby girl move and was so amazed by it. Baby boy is less active. Hoping I'll be able to feel them both and at the same time soon.

Twin moms--

I have a friend due with twins in August. She already has a toddler, so she has a lot of clothes/gear/FTM stuff. But is there anything you would recommend especially for a twin mom that she might not already have? Of course I will include a gift receipt, but I'm kind of clueless in this arena...

Gift suggestions?

So back when I wasn't pregnant, I thought it would be so cute to have a Mickey & Minnie themed nursery. DH is disney obsessed (he goes to Disney every 3 years with his friends) so I thought he would like it, too. I was wrong. He thinks its way overdone.

What does your twin nursery look like? Did you have a theme or pick certain colors?

Oh, I'm having b/g twins.

ETA: If you had b/g twins, did you have only one theme for both or did you have a different color/theme for each baby.
