How's everyone and their kiddos? Would love to hear from y'all.

C is doing great. She was sick for a lot of spring, but otherwise awesome. Talking more and more and learning new skills. Her demeanor is so fun and easy going.

She's still in the mobile infant room at daycare as the toddler room has been full. But now that she's 18 months I wonder if they'll move her up. Lookig forward to the lower weekly tuition price!

Would love to know how you all are doing!

@mrsjyw: hiii

C is sick with some kind of stomach flu, but good otherwise.

12 teeth! Havent bottle weaned yet. Hoping she will take the lead a lose interest, but it hasnt happened yet.

We are taking a family vacay to Florida for a week in March!

Loving this year of her life so much more than the first year :)

Still no plans for number 2. I got the Paragard, which is good for BC for up to ten years. Im not sure if i love it yet. Ive had cramps for an entire month, and just finished a 10 day period. Blech. Hopefully it all evens out over time.

Work is good. Still trying to get into teaching and sending in apps for subbing now and trying to finish up my study program.

DH is great. This is his busy season at work. Marriage is in wonderful shape.

That about covers it!

@mrsjyw: everything is good here! i'm 13 weeks now so just out of the first tri! i feel like its going faster than the 1st time around, and i'm kind of nervous! i can't wait till we find out the gender in a couple weeks! i'm hoping for another girl but would be happy with either!

LO#1 is doing well. getting over a cold and going through alittle bit of separation anxiety. it seems to get worse when shes sick and maybe teething. she's been at 6 teeth since before 1 and hasn't gotten any others yet, i know they're bound to come up soon and i'm scared they'll come up all at once! but other than that shes good, starting to walk and talk more. shes usually pretty calm and sweet but i think we've had a few tantrums lately. hoping it doesn't get too much worse!

hows A doing?? miss your blog updates!

@turkeylurkey: L isn't walking either. She will play with her push cart and has gotten really wild pushing it around the room but if we try to get her to let go, she sits. I'm sure it will happen soon enough though!

@travelgirl1: So glad she did well on her xray!

@kodybear: L seems to do that too. For awhile she said turtle 100 times a day, now she never says it. ????

@DillonLion: no advice bc we are still giving the bottle at 13 months....ugh, dreading weaning it! She gets it 3x a day. One in the morning, before nap, and before bed. I might try the morning bottle first and replace it with a sippy or straw cup. I guess I am not too concerned yet bc I'm sure she won't be drinking from a bottle in kindergarten lol, and her pedi said try to have it weaned by 18 months.

when your babies learn new words, are they using them consistently? for some reason it seems like when LO learns new words, she'll be consistent about using the word for like 2 weeks, and then she'll just stop all of a sudden. it always makes me question whether she knew it in the first place, but she would use it in the right context repeatedly. so i don't know if she just gets bored of using the words? she also did this with signing too. maybe my expectations are too high? hah

@DillonLion: we transitioned slowly over about 1.5 months. during her normal bottle times, i'd offer the straw cup first, then her bottle. when she started drinking enough out of her cup i stopped offering the bottle. i started with the mid morning bottle, then mid afternoon, then morning, then night. if shes taking a cup well i might try cold turkey tho!

@kml636: yay!! thats awesome that shes sleeping better!

@DillonLion: we did it cold turkey. She was still getting a bottle 3 times a day, before naps and bed. We tried to give her milk in a sippy cup or straw cup and she won't take it. Naptime was no big deal.

She got no milk at night. We were certain she would wake up hungry, but she didn't. Now, I give her milk mixed with something (strawberry kefir or i make chocolate milk) at meal with a straw cup. No more bottles or nighttime feedings! And she's sleeping better than ever... I'm shocked.

Bottle weaning? I still give her a bottle like 5+ times a day like first thing in the am, before naps, if she gets cranky during the day, and before bed.

Yesterday getting out of the car I asked if he wanted to see his friend Hunter and he said his name! I was shocked! We also think he is saying dog, kitty, yeah... still no momma! oh well! LOL
Got his school pictures last night and my oh my how grown-up he looks! He doesn't look like a baby!

In the last few weeks Ellora has become a little chatterbox! Some are more hit or miss that she will use them correctly, but she will pull out her book on cows and say, "cow". She turns to the page in her book of animals with a dog and says, "puppy!" (her favorite word). She learned "buckle" yesterday because she is obsessed with the buckle on her car seat and highchair, and this weekend we practiced "thank you" (taaaank youuu).
It is crazy!! I cannot believe how quickly she is picking up words and how fast she goes from making a noise like the word to saying it and other people understanding.
Unfortunately she has already learned "No!" While shaking her head or even using her hands to shake no in front of her. Here we go!
