I thought I would start a fresh thread since I know so many are really behind on the old one. I want to give some of you who have been behind a chance to jump back in!

What do you guys think about separate threads about specific topics? Like a sleep thread and a feeding thread? Or just keep it one long thread? Just an idea to try and keep the thread from getting too long.

LO's name: AJ

Age: 5 Months

Weight: 16 lbs at 4 months, so I'm guessing he's hovering around 17 lbs now.

Length: We measured him today and he was a little over 26 inches long.

Recent milestones: Nothing too big lately. He's getting really good at sitting up. He's been practicing not using his arms for support. He finally discovered his feet recently (I feel like he was a little behind on this). Still hasn't rolled from back to belly.

Milestone you're most looking forward to: I would have to say sitting up completely on his own. I have to be very close by to make sure he doesn't fall on his head. So it will be nice when he can just sit up with out my help.

How's feeding going: Still EBF. Waiting a little longer to start solids.

How's sleep going: It's good and bad. We'll have a few good nights followed by a couple rough ones where he wakes up constantly. We've been having trouble getting him down for the night. He'll keep waking up every 30 minutes and we have to help him back to sleep. he does this a few times before finally going to sleep for most of the night. He's still sleeping in the pack n play and his bouncy chair in our room. I have a feeling it's going to be a rough transition to his crib. Naps are still 30 minutes. He takes 4-5 catnaps throughout the day.

What is your favorite trait about your LO? I would have to say his smile and laugh. He's such a happy little boy and I love making him giggle. He's got a funny little laugh. He especially giggles at the dog and when we blow raspberries on him.

What is something silly that your LO does? He loves to squeal. He'll just lay there and scream and squeal. It's pretty funny. He also started this weird thing yesterday where he clasps his hands and punches himself in the face. It's really strange.

WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? WOHM now. I'm only working 20 hours a week right now. So not looking forward to starting full time again.

Share a pic!

Just curious...what's a sample day of solids/BM or formula for you babies?

Elliot is on 3 meals a day. No snack yet except on some days where I'm trying to unpack groceries or something and I need to keep him occupied with a few puffs or apple slices or something. Here's a sample menu:
Breakfast- baby oatmeal (2oz-ish) and a fruit squeeze packet (3oz- I put some into his oatmeal and he eats the rest) plus a couple of puffs
Lunch- cheese stick, a small bowl of steamed broccoli, cut up and some banana slices
Dinner- Usually parts of what we're having. Last night he had half of an avocado, a slice of watermelon and some shredded chicken

He usually drinks about 22oz of formula as well.

cue tears. *sniff sniff* I cannot believe how fast his year has gone by. I can't even remember what life was like with out my son.

It feels like just yesterday we were all having our babies & in the newborn trenches. And yet that all feels like it was an eternity ago. Like a whole other life.

It has been absolutely amazing watching my son grow over the past year. And I never knew my heart could hold so much love. I will forever be a changed woman because I'm a mom now.

So how are you ladies dealing? sad? happy? in denial?

what are your birthday plans? What birthday traditions will you start this year?

What are some of your favorite memories over the past year?

Little Miss Miss' first birthday is approaching faster than I'd like to admit. I've sorta started to think about her first bday party. Not sure if we want to keep it small with just fam, do something medium and invite other babies in that age range, or do it up big.

Anybody else starting to party plan?
What size party are you thinking about?

The baby room at D's daycare is 6 weeks through 12-16 months depending on how mobile the child is. So, in my head, D would be in this room at least through October but probably through December.
Well, we got a note yesterday that they are splitting the baby room into Baby 1 and Baby 2. The more mobile babies are moving up to Baby 2. They didn't say what the age would be, but it sounds like it will be 8-9 months - 1.5 years.

I'm excited, because I think it will make the transition to the "toddler" room a little easier. They said they are going to focus on transitioning from crib to cot and high chair to regular chair. And that there will be more room for the mobile babies to move around.

Soo... this is all great! But, I'm just not ready for my baby to be a toddler. Where did the time go? I'm loving that we get to see her personality more and more, so I love this stage... but she's just not a baby.

... enter baby fever...

Anyone else's daycare LO moving up in rooms yet?

So, just curious October 12 mamas... Who is ready for your next baby? Has baby fever hit? Or is the baby shop closed for a while (or permanently)? Anyone currently TTC (if you want to share)?
---
We haven't been asked too much, but I'm sure the questions will start around the 1st birthdays. We will probably start next Spring, hoping for 2.5 year age gap... But who knows what will happen!!!

Starting a new thread. Hope everyone is ok with that!

Thought I'd start it out with a little survey.

LO's name: AJ
Gender: boy
Age: 10 weeks
Weight: 13 lbs 2 oz at appt last week
Key milestones: lots of smiles and giggles. He can also lift his head up when on his tummy for a little bit. He rolled over a couple times a month ago, but hasn't done it again since.
How's feeding going: really good. He nurses about every 2 hours during the day and only does one side for 5-7 minutes.
How's sleep going: great. He's consistently sleeping 7-9 hours and goes down around 9 pm. Then will sleep for another 1-2 hours.
WOHM, WAHM, SAHM or on mat leave? On mat leave until feb then I'll be a WOHM.

Hey ladies as we get closer to our due dates (next month!) I thought it would be nice to start a new thread. Our old one was also getting super long. I know I'm a newer poster so I hope you ladies don't mind.

Due Date: October 14!

Boy, Girl, or Surprise: Surprise

What do you have left to do?: Hospital bag, complete birth plan, making sure house stays clean, finish organizing nursery, and a ton more I'm forgetting :)

Most nervous about: My natural child birth plan

How are you feeling?: Terrible at the moment but hoping my illness goes away soon!

Any thing you would like to do before LO arrives?: Keep up on my pedicures, would love to go on DS's first field trip but it's Oct 9th and I'm due Oct 14th so we will see, and get all of my quilts for LO done (highly doubt that will happen).

All we have left is September then it's BABY TIME!

We just had our great NT scan yesterday, so I feel like we can breathe somewhat of a sigh of relief and finally start to focus on the fact that baby (knock on wood) appears to be healthy. That being said, I find myself itching to start purchasing things! We're definitely finding out the gender, so I'll wait to buy any specific boy stuff or girl stuff, but when are you guys buying other items, like blankets, nursery accessories, strollers, breastfeeding equipment, etc? I'm sure I"m jumping the gun on this...but for instance, I saw Aiden and Anais blankets on Gilt.com yesterday and really wanted to get some! But didn't pull the trigger =P
