My two are chalk and cheese. One is fair and blue eyed, the other dark skin and dark eyes. One from my side, one from hubby's side. I am pregnant with my third girl now and I have a feeling she'll be like hubby too!

DH and I look very different, so I feel like the LO we are expecting now could end up looking completely different than our older one, who everyone says is about an even combination of various features of the two of us. His hair was dark when he was born but very blonde now, which I was not expecting!

Me and my husband are white and as kids had basically white blond hair. We thought we would have bald babies with hair that eventually was blonde.

Our first had soooo much dark hair. It’s still stupid thick and he has really dark brown eyes. Are next two were bald little blondes though! Haha

We had no idea and both our boys have blue eyes and red hair! DW has dark brown hair and green eyes but she was white blonde when she was a baby/toddler. Our donor is light brown hair, can’t recall eye colour. They are the only redheads in all of DW’s family! For facial features, both boys looked like FIL when babies, and have looked like each other. I don’t see a lot of distinct similarities between them and DW, or the donor either, but certain facial expressions and mannerisms definitely are her. Their hair colours have also changed with time from bright red at birth to more copper/orangey at almost 5yo for DS...DS2 is mostly still bald ha.

We have a really great US pic of DS1 in profile maybe 3 weeks before he was born and I remember looking at it before he was born and thinking ‘oh that looks like every other baby ultrasound’ but when he arrived, it looks so distinctly him! DS2’s US pics just looked like any other baby and still do ha! I actually remember having stressful dreams that DS2 would look completely different than DS1 and I wouldn’t think he was cute because I always thought DS1 was the cutest baby ever! Luckily they are both adorable :silly:

My husband and I both have Scandinavian heritage and similar features, so it's not too much of a surprise what our kids look like. I have green eyes and curly "dishwater" blonde hair (but was white blonde until teens). DH has medium brown straight hair and blue eyes. Both our girls have blue eyes and blonde hair, one fairly curly, one just a hint of a curl. As far as facial features, DD1 is my mini and DD2 is DH's mini. I'm 12 weeks with #3, so I guess we'll have a tie-breaker!

I thought both of my babies would have curly dark hair and brown eyes. The dark hair is strong in my husbands fam and brown eyes in mine
...
My daughter has super blonde hair (not white blond, but a light strawberry blonde) and ice blue eyes. My son has red hair and green/blue eyes. I have dark blonde hair and my sister has red hair.

I don’t think there were any huge surprises for us - dh and I both have blue eyes so fairly likely to get that - but I was surprised his dark hair didn’t show up, they’re all in the sandy blonde range (like me). Maybe when they’re older. And he has super curly hair that shows up a lot in his family and so far only one kid has it, and even that’s more wavy than true curly, no serious curls. Our biggest surprise was that #3 finally got some of the red genes we both have floating around - but still strawberry blonde. Oh and she got super pale pink white skin that none of the rest of us have! I never thought of myself as having yellow undertones or looking that tan until my arm was next to her.

This is mostly just for fun. How many mommas are excited to met their new baby soon?! I am! I can't wait! I'm super excited to see how she looks. My husband is half Korean and our son (our oldest) has his coloring and looks for sure. I totally thought all of our babies would look like their dad. Imagine my surprise when my daughter was born with blonde hair and blue eyes! So apparently for us its 50/50 chance. I'm excited to see what this little baby will look like! Will she be blonde? Will she have a darker complexion? Who knows!??!

If mommas are comfortable sharing what do you think your LO will look like?

I've had no signs of labor though, there's no harm in packing early or at least making lists to make it easier and less overwhelming!

For DS1 I had a list made and after my water broke at 38 weeks myself and DH packed.

For DS2 I was going to be ready as I also needed to pack a bag for DS1 for his overnight stay at a relatives. Well, no bags were packed or lists made when I had DS2 at 36+6. DH packed for everyone very last minute.

I packed early, around 36 weeks with the things I knew I needed for my bag but *didn't* need in the meantime.

Then I made a paper list that had everything I would need to grab during go-time so that I or DH could see what was remining and toss those things in when the bags were needed. It felt like a nice middle ground of having the essentials done, and being finished with the mental/planning part of packing the bags.

I packed probably around 36 weeks, because I feel anxious if things are unsettled. Not everything went in the bag because I still needed to use it, but I had a written list on top of the items to add last minute. I wasn’t in a rush to have my first at all, and happily waited until 2 days before her due date, but I felt more relaxed with it packed. (I was not happily waiting for my second to arrive on her actual due date, I was very impatient, but that had nothing to do with my packed bag 😂)

I packed when my water broke :silly: Contractions immediately began 2mins apart and I still had plenty of time to get things together (albeit in pain!).
I can’t stand having a bag just sitting there for who knows how long. Plus I don’t have dedicated hospital clothes for myself or DH. I don’t want to pack something and then not be able to wear it for the remainder of the pregnancy. I always have my toiletries ready to go and I’ll just have a list on my phone of which items I want to bring. We’ll throw it all together whenever labor starts. I also pack hardly anything in general so I feel little attachment to making sure I have certain things while in labor.

When do you ladies pack your bags?

I normally in the past I packed them at 36 weeks thinking I'd go early and wanted to be prepared. I never went early. I told myself I wouldn't pack my bags till 38 weeks this time. Idk why but packing my bags gets me way too excited and I don't want to exspect baby to come early and get my hopes up. I feel like I jinked it.
This time I've been having what I think are real contractions( back labor like pain since yesterday mostly) I deal with an irritable uturus so it's hard to tell what's real but my back has never hurt like this before. and the past week I keep loosing plug. Lost a lot last night but no spotting or show so who knows. I'm only 34 weeks. Part of me is worried I will get caught off guard with real labor but I feel like I'm being too ridiculous knowing my past history.
