This is mostly just for fun. How many mommas are excited to met their new baby soon?! I am! I can't wait! I'm super excited to see how she looks. My husband is half Korean and our son (our oldest) has his coloring and looks for sure. I totally thought all of our babies would look like their dad. Imagine my surprise when my daughter was born with blonde hair and blue eyes! So apparently for us its 50/50 chance. I'm excited to see what this little baby will look like! Will she be blonde? Will she have a darker complexion? Who knows!??!

If mommas are comfortable sharing what do you think your LO will look like?

When do you ladies pack your bags?

I normally in the past I packed them at 36 weeks thinking I'd go early and wanted to be prepared. I never went early. I told myself I wouldn't pack my bags till 38 weeks this time. Idk why but packing my bags gets me way too excited and I don't want to exspect baby to come early and get my hopes up. I feel like I jinked it.
This time I've been having what I think are real contractions( back labor like pain since yesterday mostly) I deal with an irritable uturus so it's hard to tell what's real but my back has never hurt like this before. and the past week I keep loosing plug. Lost a lot last night but no spotting or show so who knows. I'm only 34 weeks. Part of me is worried I will get caught off guard with real labor but I feel like I'm being too ridiculous knowing my past history.

So my daughter will be nearly 3 y/o when I am induced on Thursday. I bought some accessories to go with the Wee Baby Stella doll she already has. I'm hoping it will make her feel more involved in baby care even if she can't get all up in there with her new brother. I got a little car seat/carrier, diaper bag, and some clothes. I am wondering how you guys have done it with presents for the older kiddos. Should I give it to her before baby comes? After? In the hospital? Should we tell her that they are from her baby brother? Thanks for any advice or stories!

I’ll keep this short - pregnancy makes me a b—— to my loved ones, mostly my poor husband but I also have less patience with my 2 kids, though I’m much better about tempering that. I’m 17 weeks with #3 and I’m tired of raging sndbgrtting into useless fights. We have a decent amount of high stress things going on (selling a house across the country) and I basically run most of the household and am the breadwinner and primary parent. But it’s also not really an excuse to be so ragey.

How can I do better? In the moment I just can’t scale it back and I’m a decently stubborn person at baseline which doesn’t help.

Just for fun I was wondering if any of you ladies exspecting have had dreams to do with baby or labor?

I've had one myself. I haven't found out the gender yet but I had a dream that was super weird. I was in my 3rd trimester, about 38 weeks or so in it. I could "see" my baby and it was a boy. He looked a lot like my son just more chunky. He was so cute I fell in love. It was a weird yet good dream lol. I've had 3 other people I know dream my baby was a boy.

Just thought it would be fun to share dreams.

Today, I took my kids out by myself for the first time since DD arrived less than 2 weeks ago. I was feeling good about it and happened to run into someone I used to work with. I said "hi," and reminded her that she worked in my classroom a couple years ago. She matter-of-factly responded with, "Oh, I remember now. I just didn't recognize you because you gained weight. You used to be so skinny." I didn't even know what to say... I think I said something like "Yeah, I just had a baby..."
I could let this bother me, but I am trying to file this away as the "most ridiculous comment ever," lock the cabinet, and burn it.

Anyway, what's the most worst you've heard?

Help! I am 2 weeks away from my scheduled C-section date. We are Team Green :teamgreen: for the second time and struggling to find a name we both love for a little boy.

I have loved the name Declan since high school and we used it for DS #1 along with a meaningful family surname as his middle name. I just don't know how to compete with that, it is so perfect in my mind! We still like Reagan for a girl's name and would pair it with Mae for a middle name after DH's grandmother.

I tend to like Irish/Gaelic type names but not at all a requirement. Our last name starts with an F and ends in "man."

I really want at least part of the name to have significance. Some family names: Felix, Wilson (cousin used it for a first name but an option for middle), James, Leo and Fredrick.

DH's cousin just had a baby and over the last few months she would put FB status' up about the things that annoyed her, one of them being people asking if she had her baby yet (which I totally get, she was overdue!). So it got me thinking about things that annoy others when pregnant/a new mom.

I just ran into a friend and her new baby. I mentioned to the guy coworker I was with (also a parent of a baby) that the new mama looks great and is putting me to shame 8 month pp. I meant that she was wearing heels, makeup & looked put together.

He responded that of course she looks great, Asian women recover faster. Is that a commonly held belief? I had never heard it before but he said it so matter of factly it caught me off guard. & He's usually so factually accurate. Seemed like an odd thing for him to think was true. Ha - he's probably texting his wife or sister asking if that isn't true.

I need to rant.
Everyone warned me this would happen... you get pregnant and all of a sudden you can't hide from everyone's expert opinions and judgements. I am seriously soooo annoyed today... I'm sure everyone can relate!!!

The other day I was slouching at work... a lady come up to me and said "you better stop slouching, you're teaching your baby bad habits". um WHAT? she's a fetus. she can't see me. she can't slouch... leave me alone.
Same woman just came up to me and OUT OF NOWHERE goes "you know you can't dye your hair anymore, right?" i was like yes i can. she insisted i can't. and i said well i haven't dyed my hair since july but i will be in the next couple of months soooo...
yesterday i ran into a coworker when i was going to get breakfast and a different lady says "you better stay away from caffeine". i was like i will do no such thing.
yet another coworker says "you're really growing" and i said oh ya i'm getting a baby belly. so goes, no your chest and POINTS AT MY CHEST. then proceeds to go on and on about how she's never noticed them before. i was a D pre pregnancy and i'm SO SELF CONSCIOUS about them. i do not need you pointing them out and getting other people to join in on the convo. it made me want to cry.

i'm just really sick of it. the fact that i'm growing a human doesn't give you a right to comment on every choice i make and how my body is changing. ugh. /end rant.

any really obnoxious comments you've received??? commiserate with me!

Okay, so I started managing a service - and the team who deliver this service - two weeks ago and WOW it's in a mess; everything that could be wrong is wrong. The work isn't getting done, the team are disengaged and argue constantly, keeping dossiers of each others' perceived incompetence.... and so many more issues.....you name it, it's bad.

At the start of the week, I issued some instructions about managing the workload going forward. I'm going to need to micro manage this team for the first few weeks to get them working smartly. One of my instructions was around cover for my pregnant staff member, specifically her home visit work. My team are essentially debt collectors working on deprived and sometimes dangerous estates. It simply isn't safe to put a pregnant lady in this position - or to ask her to traipse about housing estates for several hours per day with no access to a toilet!!

So this afternoon, one of my male officers came to speak to me. He was most unhappy that the pregnant colleague wasn't going to be made to do home visits (it's not even that he has to cover because he does a different role and is office based!). He said "She's able to go for a walk around the block every lunch time so I don't see why she shouldn't do home visits".

I told him in no uncertain terms that I didn't feel it was appropriate - and said directly that I don't have to justify to him the decisions I make.

Eight hours on and I'm still angry. I'm so, so angry. He has two young sons (his wife is a SAHM) so he knows all about pregnancy, surely? I feel sorry for his poor wife.

My MIL drives me crazy! The woman has no filter AT ALL and constantly offends everyone around her. She's also OBSESSED with weight and being thin and constantly tries to make herself feel better by putting other people down about their weight and their looks. She's extremely shallow.

So lately I've had two gems from her. We told her I was pregnant and the first thing out of her mouth was "Oh that's why you're looking bigger lately." Um NO! I haven't gained an ounce yet. In fact I've lost weight due to all the morning sickness. I told DH that he needed to tell her that comments about my looks or weight will not be tolerated.

The second one is just as bad. A woman we both know had a baby last week. I told MIL that C finally had her baby. MIL first comment was "how much weight did she gain?" Really?! My response was "I don't know. That's not something I would ever ask another person."

urgh.

My WTE app said that working out regularly during pregnancy will help your baby STTN sooner, be less prone to colic and better able to soothe themselves.

I worked out/ran 4-5 days a week up to my 9th month when I was pregnant with W and I can say that all of those statements were false for us. I haven't been able to do much this pregnancy (maybe 1-2x/wk), so we'll see how the next one is.

At almost 7 mo pregnant I think I'm pretty lucky that I haven't had some of the typical annoying comments I know a lot of pregnant women get about their size or their belly or had anyone comment on my drinking coffee or anything.

One question I've gotten a thousand times though is "How do you think Stew (my dog) will handle the baby?"

The first 400 times were fine, but honestly it is getting tiresome. Especially because some people like to ask me this every single time they see me. And like, how am I supposed to answer that anyways, it's not like I can have a conversation with him.

Is there one comment or question you seem to get over and over and over again that you wish people would just stop asking?

This was after a friend of a friend found out I was expecting #2 and my girls would be 2 years and 3 months apart. This was followed up by "do you just like being pregnant??".

From strangers at coffee shops?

I was going through old IG pics and came across a Sbux cup shot I took with the caption "judge me"

I remember I posted it after getting the judgmental glare from this older lady who thought I was crazy for drinking starbucks while pregnant.

I drank a cup a day throughout my pregnancy. BOOOOOOOYAH

I never thought I could get annoyed by this. I am 29.5 weeks and people are all shocked when I tell them when I am due. Some say, 'you look like you are going to pop any day' or 'maybe its twins'.

Hahahaha people are so funny!

It doesnt linger with me, but it does make me think of a few things:

#1 Shut it - i am carrying a fricken human between my legs, I know how big I am.
#2 I am going to have a gigantic child.
#3 I am going to have this baby early.

I don't know what I am looking for here but just needed to vent. :)

So far I think everyone we have told has asked if it was planned or an accident!

My brother is young and said "was that supposed to happen?!"

So far I think it's funny.. but if it keeps happening I might get a bit annoyed. I mean, we've been married over a year, together almost 10 years, living together for 3 years.. etc.

Did this happen to you?

I ran into someone I hadn't seen for a long while and she asked if I knew if I was having a boy or girl.
Me: 'we're having another girl  '
Her: 'ohh...well, that's OK'

What I wanted to say: 'no shit it's OK, I wasn't exactly looking to be comforted on the matter'
What I said: 'yeah, not a lot of boys come out of our family but sisters are fun'.

Any recent people make you want to say something different than what you actually said?
