Anyone pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised you? I participated in a virtual somatic therapy session called "Parenting Through Genocide", hence the name of this thread. It was very helpful, but I haven't found other sessions like it. I have found some grief spaces online as well, not they haven't been about parenting per se. I just saw that a little more than 15% of registered voters in my pretty small town voted early- DH and me included. It was so quick and easy- literally walked across the street from my older daughter’s school after pick up, voted with my two girls, and since it was so empty, the kind poll worker let both my girls hand the ballot to her (I had to seal it in an envelope instead of putting it into the box like I have on Election Day). </p> <p>Was early voting available for you? He's always been interested in CC and politics so this seems like a good chance to volunteer for our community. The commitment is 2 meetings a month- which is a lot since he travels. Luckily the meetings are usually only 1-2 hours and are walking distance. We have been in our city for 5.5 years and love our neighborhood. We are one of the fastest growing areas in the state with many big changes on the horizon. However our long term goal is to move about 2 1/2 hours away but I don't expect that to happen before his term would end.</p> <p>Have you or a spouse served? Would your family be affected?</p> <p>Both bills would negatively affect my family. The AHCA allows insurances to charge more for pre-existing conditions, which affects three members of my family (I have ITP, both boys have asthma). And both bills also allow states to remove the essential health benefits. Between both my boys, we've had a dozen ER visits, four hospitalizations, and are on daily prescription medications.
