I remember AF being nightmarish after DD1s birth. Just came back after DD2 (same timeline, 6 mos later) and it's been...pretty easy? 1 heavy day, 2 light days and some spotting.

What was your experience with your cycle returning? Am I in for it next month?

I just had my 3rd boy via c section 5 days ago and I have zero appetite. This happened after my first two (also c sections) but it seems particularly bad this time. It’s hard for me to make myself eat anything so I’ve been sticking to soup, fruits and trying to snack on small things through the day since I can’t handle a full meal. I’m on pain meds from the surgery though and taking them on an empty stomach makes me feel terrible. I know it’ll pass eventually, but has anyone else experienced this? I’m so frustrated.

I have struggled to write this post for a little over a week now because I couldn't tell if it was just the baby blues or if it was PPD (I have had PPD in the past with my first so I knew there was a chance I would get it again, especially with another C-section.) I also wanted to give myself a little more time before automatically assuming it was PPD since we have a lot of stress already in our lives.

I had DD 25 days ago I am on week 3 without the baby blues feelings going away. I am extremely weepy most of the time and feel like a failure when something doesn’t go right and right now in our lives a lot of things are not going right. DH is not happy at his job with a lot of stress and I am back at work already with DD in my private office. It's a small business and very short staffed. I only took 3 weeks off which I now feel like was not enough. I don’t get any night help with the new baby and that’s ok except for I am getting very little sleep and I don’t think I’ve been taking care of myself very well and often times having to skip meals. My mom did stay with us for 3 weeks and continually watches our toddler during the week since he is not in school yet. On top of those things, our toddler is really acting out which is to be expected with the new baby since his whole world has been turned upside down but at times he can be such a nightmare. After him misbehaving all day yesterday I finally snapped and yelled at him loudly which resulted in both of us crying and me again feeling like a bad mom. Sigh. I feel like I am not even living life right now and living in a fog of my former self. I am thinking a call to my OBGYN would be helpful? Any advice or even similar situations?

I am 16 days out from a repeat C Section/tubal. The past 3 or 4 days I have had no postpartum bleeding and really the entire week before it was super light. Now today all of a sudden I am bleeding very heavily like a period and (TMI) it is dark red/brown. Could this be my period this soon after giving birth? Or if not, something serious? I think my period came back at 5/6 weeks with my first which is why I am surprised if that is what this is. Also, I am not breastfeeding and I don't have any cramps or anything currently.

I finally stopped bleeding about 2 weeks ago, maybe a little less. Then, yesterday, after a long walk on Friday, I started spotting. It’s now turning to red blood. I thought it might be due to the extra exercise... or, could this be my period ALREADY?!

With my first, my period didn’t return until 18 months. I’m exclusively breastfeeding again, so why would it come back so early this time? :bummed:

Symptoms like heartburn, gas pains, constipation...? Basically, things that are normal during pregnancy but not so much in normal life?

I had occasional heartburn prepregnancy but otherwise my stomach issues appeared during pregnancy. At my 6 week postpartum appointment my dr seemed surprised that I was still dealing with constipation but not overly concerned... but now lo2 is nearly 6 months 😱 Some days it's not as bad as other days but I'm still regularly taking Zantac, tums, colace, gas x... I started fiber gummies and that's helped a little... basically trying to figure out when I should go see a dr! Fwiw im nursing and haven't really lost weight even though i do yoga or work out fairly regularly and eat about as well as I did prepregnancy

Anyone else have symptoms that lingered way after baby was born? Did they go away on their own or did you need to seek treatment?

Has anyone had round ligament pain AFTER birth? I've had some sharp pains that feel exactly like rlp lately, particularly after I've been out and about. I'm probably overdoing it-- lo1 is on spring break so I've been chasing her and pushing her in the stroller while wearing lo2 and walking to various parks, museums, play dates, etc. it goes away with rest, but I don't remember this happening after my first was born!

I am 9 days postpartum and have had such an easy recovery this time except for what feels like constipation pains starting on Sunday. I've had pretty regular bm's. Sunday I went fine that morning and then in the afternoon had bad cramping. Same Monday even though I took some milk of magnesia and pretty much cleared out my system. Yesterday no pain at all and I didn't have a bm, then today after a normal BM extreme pain (8-9). I took some midol which helped but even now 4 hours later just passing gas hurts, although the constant pain is gone. I called the Dr. And they told me it's normal pp. Anyone else have experience with this?

Other than post-partum hair loss, did your hair change texture or color after giving birth? I'm 10 months post partum and I feel like my hair has gotten more wavy. And because I have a pixie cut/really short hair it's more noticeable. I've just been generally unhappy with my hair.

OR.....

It could be due the new stylist I have since we moved here. She started cutting my hair when I was 6 or 7 months pregnant. So I don't know if my hair has actually changed or she just....sucks

So enlighten me!! Did your hair change? (Or does my stylist suck? )

Quite a few moms have shared they experienced baby blues or PPD. If you did, what did you do to cope?

The reason I ask is that for several months I figured I would encapsulate my placenta and take it as a supplement. However, I can only find anecdotal evidence that it provides energy and helps with PPD.

I go to the doctor, get an antibiotic and go on my way, until the next one pops up again a month later. I hardly ever got them before DD2. I'm wondering if it's because of a body change/ph balance change, or because I got Mirena this time? Anyone else suffer for these, have any advice?

I have been having some pain and discomfort the past few days. It comes and goes, particularly after dinner (like around 7-8pm, after eating at 6pm) and I feel abdominal and very severe back pain and swollen sore stomach. It hurts to the touch, in the upper middle, and I have painful gas etc. And then it just passes after an hour or so. Nothing seems to relieve the pain, especially my back. Heating pad, shower.... nothing. :( I called my OB this morning and the nurse said it sounded like gallbladder but she'd ask the doctor. She said it is common postpartum and during pregnancy. Anyone have a similar experience? Kind of scared and don't really need this after a difficult pregnancy. :crying:

If you got really engorged when your milk came in, how long did it last? What helped with the pain and discomfort?

On the advice of some previously posted questions about this on HB and kellymom, I hand expressed to take the edge off, then had a good long feeding with the baby. It felt much better but still had some big lumps. Now a couple hours later I'm already engorged again. I don't remember it being this intense last time! I was reading my toddler a story and she accidentally elbowed me in the boob and I almost cried.

How long can I expect this to last? Milk came in last night, 4 days post partum right now.

As weird as this sounds, I think I have suddenly developed a lactose intolerance at 7 weeks postpartum.

I started having stomach issues pretty soon after having my LO. At first I figured it was related to constipation and taking colace. I stopped taking colace and switched to Metamucil, but kept experiencing stomach cramps.

About 3 weeks ago I started taking domperidone, all the while my stomach aches started getting worse. The other night I had a bowl of cereal with milk for a snack in the middle of the night and ended up with an awful stomach ache.

I finally put it together and cut out all dairy, except for very small amounts of cheese that I take lactaid with. I've been off dairy for 2 days and I've had NO stomach aches! I'm so happy I figured it out, but I miss cheese already :bummed:

Did anyone else have weird food sensitivities pop up postpartum?

My teeth are really sensitive lately. It started at the end of my pregnancy (sweets in particular hurt my molars) and now I have one tooth (one of my front four) that hurts so bad on the front, down by the gum. I can touch it with a fingernail and it hurts. Next week I have a cleaning.

I started using sensodyne toothpaste a couple months ago. Has anyone had success with anything else? I see my OB Tuesday and will ask her if I need to supplement my diet with something. Did it go away for you after you weaned? I've never had this before, thanks!

So like I posted in my previous post I'm going on 7 weeks pp and had my 6 week check up yesterday and didn't get any answers to my concerns. I told the doc about the pain that I have been having in my tailbone which makes it very uncomfortable to sit and her best advice was to put ice on it and she said she had no clue why I was feeling it. I had this same thing during my last few months of pregnancy but didn't worry to much because I thought it was just the position and weight of LO but now at 7 weeks pp I'm still having it.

Is this Normal?

LO2 is almost two weeks old and I've noticed my hair is already falling out. I thought my hair started falling out closer to 3 months with LO1. I'm not sure if I'm just noticing it earlier or if it is really falling out earlier.

Did your hair loss start earlier with LO2+?

I remember sweating like crazy after Charlie in my sleep. The most I've ever sweat in my entire life! But I don't really remember sweating with Olive. Maybe because I gained twice as much weight with Charlie?
