With my first 3, it got worse with each pregnancy, but I still started feeling better around 14 weeks with it petering out by 16 weeks each time.

With pregnancy #4 I also started with a head cold that made it sooo much worse. I was sick on week 5 but I was actually feeling better by week 12. Of course, I blame this time around on being twins.

Highly recommend meeting with your doctor (even just your regular doctor) and getting some meds. I got Diclegis and Promethazine. The Diclegis didn't do much for me, so I switched to Promethazine and it was awesome.

@Lahela017: lol that makes me feel so much better! This is DH’s first baby and he keeps asking me about my pregnancies with the first two and I can’t remember! I know I didn’t feel good but couldn’t recall when it got better.

I think your brain purposely blocks it all out, so you'll have more kids. I just had my second baby in July and pregnancy is already a blur!

I think with both my kiddos, I was feeling better around 12-14 weeks. It was a slow, but steady improvement starting around 10ish weeks I think.

I hope you feel better soon! That first trimester is no fun! I was always sick and very stressed, worrying about if everything was ok or not.

I’m 7 weeks and super sick. I haven’t NOT thrown up in weeks and have a bad head cold (not COVID/flu), which has exacerbated my nausea and vomiting.

This is baby number 3, but my older LOs are 6.5 and almost-10, so I don’t remember much about being pregnant with them. I recall feeling nauseated but never throwing up multiple times a day for weeks. I think I felt better around 10/12 weeks but I don’t really have strong memories lol.

When did you feel better?

I realized I never followed up with an update! I was scheduled for an induction at 41 weeks and went into labor spontaneously literally the night before and so came into L&D in the middle of the night instead of that morning. LO3 was born at 10am! This was also after coming to triage the prior night thinking my water had broken, but it hadn’t. I begged for them to induce me a day early instead of sending me home but the hospital was having a planned power outage and was running on generators with half the ORs down so they refused. Of all the weekends!

He was 9.5 lb though and I had a 30 sec shoulder dystocia where he was stuck and it was really scary but we are both fine. I wish everyone had listened to my insistence that he was going to be huge and somehow gotten me the 39 wk induction I wanted!!

Still pregnant 😩 I have another appointment this afternoon so I hope I’ve made some progress. At least will get details about my induction I guess. My mom is coming to watch my kids so I don’t have to drag them but she won’t come down in the morning to help with their activities and won’t stay to help with dinner 🤷‍♀️

oh mama feels like yesterday that I was in your same position! And I had been taking progesterone injections so I felt like bc of the meds the baby was stuck in there which was even worse, like it was my fault. Then at my 40 week ultrasound it showed he was still measuring 37 weeks so I freaked out and got induced. It was a super easy fast labor which I'm sure it will be for you! you look back at the time and it will be able up in the radar but I totally understand the misery. Do whatever you have to do to stay sane. You never know, it could be tonight🙏🤞

I could have written this post couple of years ago. My 3rd ended up being induced at 41weeks. My 2nd came early at 37weeks so everyone and their moms was also telling me it would be similar. So at 37 weeks I was waiting. And waiting. And waiting. To make matters worse, I started dilating slowly early and was dilated to 5cm when I actually went in. I also solo parent a lot and I was so cranky and not that proud as a mom those last couple of weeks. Just hang in there and take things slow!

Ugh the end with #3 was THE WORST. You’re so worn down by then (I got shingles at 38w courtesy of being so run down!). Give yourself some grace because you are doing great just surviving.

Don’t worry about being a horrible parent they will forget if they even notice. Turn on that screen time or whatever treat will pacify and let it go. I hope you’re holding that baby ASAP!!

I’m so sorry! My second was later than my first (40+2 vs 38+5) and those additional 11 days felt like an eternity! I was 1 cm at my 39 week and 40 week appointments and they were unable to sweep my membranes also so I can totally commiserate.

For what it’s worth - they decided to induce me a few hours after my 40 week appointment due to low fluid and I went into labor on my own by the time I made it to the hospital two hours later. Hang in there - you’re almost there!

My second was later than my first and I thought I was going to loose it. Can you call family and just bluntly tell them you need them to come over and watch your kiddos? If not I agree with some screentime, turn on a Disney movie and give them a treat.
And don't worry about being grumpy they will be fine!
Hope baby comes for you soon. Mine only came when I finally just said I don't have control and baby will come when he's ready. I also had a good chat with my midwife and we decided on a plan if baby wasn't here by 42 weeks, baby came later that night super fast

@MenagerieMama: I feel for you. Going overdue is seriously awful mentally. If you’re into screentime then let that be a fun activity. Movie and treats for your kids and order food or go out for food and try to let things roll off your back because you are working so hard right now.

Day time baths for the kids as a distraction and silly crafts they can do.

I totally sympathize, those days past the due date are kind of brutal! Hope at least tomorrow you will have child care and (if not in the hospital) go somewhere by yourself to just RELAX and veg out. I likewise got sick of being pregnant with my second (who defied expectations by being even later than the first) and started my leave, but actually just hid out at my parents' house for a few hours each day and watched TV while we had child care. It helped take my mind off things a little bit and I KNOW I would not have had it in me to be a patient parent. Can you get family/DH to take over for a few hours this afternoon/evening so you can at least get out for a manicure/walk/movie/whatever by yourself?

I was due with #3 yesterday and am going batty still being pregnant. I’ve had 2 OB appointments in the past week and my cervix has not been internally dilated enough for a membrane sweep. My babies are big and this one feels even bigger. I’ve had a million stretch marks this time around compared to almost none with the other two. The hospital I’m delivering at won’t let me be induced until 41 weeks. I caved and started my maternity leave yesterday, which was the right choice. But today I’m home with both my kids (I’m usually off T/Th) and I am just so upset to still be pregnant and uncomfortable and I feel like I’m constantly yelling at everyone and trying to not just collapse in the corner and cry. None of my family is helping, just pestering me about when baby will be here. And DH threw his back out from the extra toddler lifting so I’ve had to do a lot more and it’s so hard. I just want to be done.

Sigh. Any advice or commiseration? How can I stop being a horrible mother while waiting for my induction?

Thank you so much ladies for responding. It stinks other ladies deal with this but it helps knowing I'm not a lone lol. I know when labor happens they will be real but untill then I have to deal with some semi painful ones every other day. I've noticed when my baby is actually head down I get them but when she decides to be oblique or transverse they dont happen. Idk why this is case but oh well. I'm 33 weeks tomorrow so we will see how things go. Almost done

I had timetable contractions that would stop for 3 weeks mostly for a bit about every other night with my 2nd. It was annoying, and I lost a lot of sleep, but in the end when the real ones came it was clear they were different and my second labor was quick.

My two labors were so different so just because it went one way last time doesn't mean it will go the same the next.

I had irritable uterus with two pregnancies. It was so tiring. I largely gave up my daily habit of walking the neighborhood because it made my uterus constantly hard, and it's miserable to walk that way! In the first pregnancy I did frequently waver over whether I should take it seriously since they were seriously timable. I went into labor shortly after my due date, and I knew because I literally had to stop walking and double over with the contractions, and I also threw up.

Second pregnancy, I noticed them, but I didn't heed them at all. People around me would be alarmed, but I knew they were nothing. Again, I knew it was real when it woke me from sleep at 3 am and I doubled over with each one.

I'm sorry you are dealing with it. I know it really wears on you.

I have this issue as well. It caused a lot of anxiety. The only thing that made me feel better was hitting 36 weeks and knowing the baby would be okay. I didn't want a preemie because my first was premature. I did end up going in a lot for checks because I was so nervous.
