Tldr: are false squinter positives on the FRER a real thing now? I saw a thread from 2020 about it but hoping for more recent input. I haven't been TTC since 2017. </p> <p>DH had a vasectomy in Feb. We didn't have sex the required 20 times to "clear him out" before his test on May 25th, but he promised he took care of things on his own. His test results were like, zero, all set, "low low low" dr said we were in the clear. Got my period June 1, but no sex for all of june due to covid and travel. Havent had a period since June 1, which i assumed was due to covid and travel. I have 3 different squinter positives that my 3 best friends and my husband can all see the 2nd line. All FRER, different boxes. Last month I went through an early miscarriage. I just found out I’m pregnant again (I got a positive Clearblue digital on Sunday) and I’ve gotten positives digital tests for the past three days. This morning I tested using a Pregmate test from Amazon and using fmu and there is barely anything there. I don’t have anymore digital tests so I am having more brought to my house, but I am already feeling sad. It feels like a repeat of what happened last month. The Pregmate tests haven’t seemed to be getting any darker over that past few days that I’ve been testing despite the positive digitals. Today is technically the day of my missed period, so I know it’s still early, but if I got a positive digital on Sunday I thought for sure my strip tests would be getting darker by now. I can’t get in to see a doctor until May 27, so I just feel so helpless and terrified. I haven’t started bleeding, but I keep checking because I feel like at any moment I’ll go to the bathroom and see red on the toilet paper. Yesterday morning I got a positive Clearblue digital with fmu. I figured that since I finally got that digital positive that it meant I am for sure pregnant and all day yesterday we were so excited. We told family and friends and we’ve just been so happy. Fast forward to this afternoon at 11:45-ish when I took another Clearblue digital for peace of mind and thinking I’d definitely get another positive...I got a NEGATIVE. I then tested with two Amazon cheapies (Pregmate) and got suuuuper faint lines (which I thought would be stronger by now) and I got a faintly positive Clearblue with the lines. I’m confused and praying so hard that this is just because my hcg levels are lower in the afternoon. But I’m also wondering if this is a sign that I’m having a chemical pregnancy. If you have had a similar experience, please share! I’m honestly so freaked out right now and terrified that I will have to call family and friends to say that we are losing this pregnancy. Does this sound like a chemical or am I just still really early? Is it really possible to test positive on a digital one morning and then test negative the next day in the afternoon? I feel terrified of being pregnant right now, with everything being on lockdown and everything being so uncertain. All that said, according to my period app, I’m supposedly a week away from my period. However, I’m not sure how accurate the predictions are on it since my periods have been kind of irregular. I just took a first response rapid result with afternoon urine and I see two lines. Are these tests prone to false positives? The lines appeared during the time frame and the second line has darkened since I first took the test (still faint, but clearly visible to me). I showed it to my husband thinking he would be in shock and that he would automatically see the line too, but he said it looks negative to him. He says he can’t see another line at all. Am I nuts? Does anyone else see this? I have another test I’m saving for tomorrow morning and more on the way in the mail just in case. It is stressing me out that I’m the only one who sees a second line. I also tested using one of the 88 cents ones with the pink dye but it looks negative which makes me think I may just be going crazy. I can’t even remember the exact dates of when my husband and I last had sex, and last time I know we used a condom so I’d be very surprised if this is real. I am incredibly nervous - we tried for 6+ years to conceive and then my first IVF transfer ended in a chemical pregnancy. This go around, my beta numbers were very high, doubling perfectly, and everything was fine. I took a digital test today on a whim and it was a negative. I’ve been crying all day and debating whether or not to even do my PIO shot tonight. I decided to take a FRER, cheapie wondfo, and another digital tonight and they were all positive. I’ve attached a pic of the FRER - there’s no question the test line is very positive, right? The control line is faint, does that mean anything? Now I have no idea what to think. I take preg tests pretty frequently just to have peace of mind. This morning I took a FRER and thought I saw a vvfl, but I thought it might have just been an indent. I then took a digital First Response and it said negative. This afternoon I tried testing with a Dollar Tree test and I can see another vvfl, but I’m wondering how accurate it is. Does anyone else have experience with these tests? I just had my first IVF FET on Wednesday (I’m 3dp5dt) and am going crazy waiting out the TWW. I tested this morning with a blue dye test because that’s all I had. The test has a 2 minute window so I walked away after it initially looked negative. I came back no more than 10-15 minutes later and could see a line. I know blue dye tests are notorious for evap lines - is that what this looks like to you? I didn’t take a trigger shot this cycle so it can’t be that. I’m trying hard not to get my hopes up. You probably think I’m crazy. I took a test on Wednesday afternoon and was convinced I saw a (incredibly faint) second line. I took a bunch of other tests yesterday and also thought I saw lines on all of them. I was going to wait to test again until Sunday or Monday but I couldn’t control myself and ended up taking another FRER about an hour ago (2:30pm). I STILL feel like I see something. I have been so emotional because I feel like I’m going nuts and there’s no way to know for sure except by waiting and testing again. The worst is that I still haven’t had a normal cycle since the birth of my second son, so I still have no clue what my hormones are doing.
