I have a tall for his age almost 3 year old, and he will sometimes push around one of our strollers. It doesn’t seem too small for him.

This stroller is a newer version of one we got for my now 5 year old a couple of years ago. It’s sturdier than the other doll strollers we have and has lasted much longer! She still likes to use it sometimes.

My daughter is about to turn 3 and asked for a doll stroller for her birthday. Well, she specifically asked for a Spiderman doll stroller. That doesn't exist, so I bought some Spiderman fabric patches which I will affix to a cheap doll stroller. :)

Here's my question. She is on the tall side for her age. Over 3 feet. Would she be able to play with and push around one of those cheap umbrella strollers? Like the Cosco brand they sell at Target/Walmart, etc.?

If not, I will get her one of the small, cheap baby doll strollers they have at the big box stores. She already has one like that but it's starting to break which is why she wanted a replacement in the first place.

But help! I am curious if anyone's preschool age kids are able to play with a regular sized umbrella stroller easily.

At the other end of the price spectrum, I had a Countours Elite that was great. Way longer than a city mini double which would have been my first choice after loving their single years ago, but super easy to steer with good brakes and positionable seats and easy enough to fold.

I'd choose the Thule double over the Bob Dualie. The Thule is lighter and sleeker and just all around awesome. However, it might have a lesser weight capacity. I think my own 3.5 yr old is growing out of it. But I'd for sure look for one second hand.

@Ms. RV: I’d also say a big no to the wagon on a hill unless you borrow one and try it first. DH got some reason put DD3 in a wagon to go get DD1 from school recently, and it was as bad going down (no brakes, so kept hitting my ankles) as it was going back up (I find pulling more work with less control than pushing).

The Baby Jogger City Select is a workhorse - they’re $$$ but pretty easy to find used in many areas for much less. Bonus is it converts easily to a single.

I definitely wouldn’t do a wagon that you are going to have to push/pull

Look at a bob duallie or thule urban glide double. They are expensive but nothing else will come close to the push. There is a strong resale market; in my area they are for sale alllll the time.

Babyjogger also makes a true running stroller (double) summit XC I think it’s called.

I have had a bob duallie for years and love it. I’d choose between that and a Thule, personally. I hate having to pack up my bob for the van though, but that only happens about once every 6 months, otherwise it’s strictly for walks and lives in my garage.

@bhbee: I don't live in the city, so I wouldn't need it to carry a haul of groceries or anything like that. I guess it's not a huge deal, I don't really find my self using the basket anymore now anyway like I did before when I used the Bravo as a car seat carrier in markets.

@Pollywog: @tysonja: Thanks! It's great to hear that it's lasted so long without any issues! I haven’t used my Bravo all that much imo, 2-3x a week short walk on paved roads, some mall trips, city outtings and what not only since the weather started getting better in April and I’ve already noticed the left back wheel wobbling! The roughest surface it's been on is Boston city brick.

@SweetiePie: I think I'm gonna end up getting it. The Albee sale ends on Monday night so I'm going to go to buybuybaby and mess around with it in person before making a final decision. The harder part I think is deciding between Grey or Teal!

Following! We just moved to the burbs last week and I have been itching to get rid of my UB Vista but really kinda needed it in the city. I’ve been wanting to replace it with the CityMiniGT.
But I already have a yo-yo as our travel stroller and I’ve used it almost daily since we moved here so wondering if it’s enough at this point. DS2 is already 16 months.
So basically I’m just following along to read the praises of the CityMini to see if it’s worth it.

I only have the mini gt, but I love it! I can easily push with one hand., its easy to lift and fold (it will stand on its side). The big wheels off road well and the hand brake is nice. The basket is small, but I still totally recommend this stroller!

I have no experience with these particular strollers, but I think a stroller that is easy to push and that you like is worth it if you can afford it. I am frustrated every time we borrow a stroller that's difficult to push with one hand after using our Bob for many years.

we have the 2011 mini as well that has lasted us 3 kids, 2 foster kids, and still going strong for LO#4 who is just a few weeks old right now, but using it already with the carseat adapter. i've loved it! the maneuverability, the one hand close, the one hand steering, giant sun cover... it's all been great. yes, the small basket and small basket opening is definitely a downside, but if you don't plan on doing a lot of shopping with it then i think it is fine. i hang my diaper bag on the handle or wear it as a back pack though, as shoving it all in the basket would be too annoying. we also have the 2010 city select double, and i DO love using the giant basket underneath.

if i could go back i would get the GT just cause, but that said, the regular mini has been more than worth it's $$ for us, in my opinion :)

I have a city mini circa 2014. I bought it used and I use it every day. My super frugal husband's only regret is that he wishes we bought it new because it's starting to show it's wear and he loves our city mini double gt so much more.

I find that the basket holds enough. If it's not enough I throw a backpack together. We don't have a parent console.

I've never needed it to stand upright and I bring that thing everywhere. It's light enough I can carry it one handed with a 14 month old in the other hand.

What makes the city mini worth it's weight in gold to us is that my kids can get a dark, shaded nap in it without getting overheated. My kids have taken many long naps in there.

In my opinion, I'd absolutely pay $50 more for the GT features. I love them in my double

ETA, I live in a close-in suburb where I don't drive. The stroller goes on bumpy sidewalks well, into stores/playgrounds/libraries without a problem, and excels in public transportation. I've never driven mine, but I'm sure it would be fine to get in and out of a car

What kind of terrain will you use it on? How do you use the basket (like do you grocery shop with it or just need to throw a bag in)? I think that makes a huge difference in how useful features are.

I have a 2011 city mini (before the gt) and it’s lasted 3 kids, still going strong. I had it as my “city car” for 2.5 years and now another 5 years of burbs where it’s in and out of the car. The basket was slightly annoying when I used it for shopping, but I found you can unsnap one part and for more in. I think the easy fold is awesome and would rarely have a reason to stand it up - right now it stands on its side/wheel in my mini trunk area. I did buy a parent console but super cheap on amazon. I also have bag clips for the handle. The canopy is amazing.

I’m sure others can speak more to the gt specifically but thought I would chime in to say even the old one is a great everyday stroller!

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone had experience with both of these strollers and had a preference for either.
I currently have the Bravo, but I find it hard to push with one hand and rather bulky when folded up. I know the Mini and Mini GT are super popular and takes care of my two main complains about the Bravo. But on the downside it has a much smaller basket and no parent tray, though I'm ok with buying accessories. It also seems that the City can't stand on it's own when folded, do you find that to be a problem? I can't think of when I've ever been out and needed to fold my stroller and keep it upright, but my son is only 9mo, so we haven't had a TON of experience being out and about yet.

My husband doesn't really think I should spend more on another stroller since we have a perfectly fine one according to him, and I do kind of agree if it's not going to be significantly better. Opinions? Do you think the Mini GT worth buying if I have the Bravo? It's currently on sale at Albee for only $200, so while it's not going to break the bank, I hate to waste money on another stroller if it's not worth it.

I'm only currently looking at this one cause I cant justify spending much more even if they are better. And if it matters, we have the 3D lite too, but I don't really like it cause the canopy is pretty useless imo.

And the regular City Mini is about $150, but I think the GT is worth the extra $50 over the Mini? Has anyone had or used both?

Agree, that seems high for a 2011, maybe wait or keep your eyes open for a newer model? Is there a Graco adapter you could buy? We have an old vista and will be using a adapter for the Chico car seat.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think I will continue to keep an eye on the listing to see what happens to the price.

I don’t plan to use it as a double, but thought the buggy/skate board might be useful for my older DD to ride on when I’m/we’re out with both kids. Another drawback is that we wouldn’t be able to attach our Graco infant car seat, so we’d have to transfer babe to and from the bassinet if we’re using it before (s)he’s big enough for the other (rumble?) seat. I really liked the “Click and Connect” feature of our Graco when my DD was an infant, so thinking I might miss that with this stroller.

That seems high for a 2011 based on what I see on my local boards. I think $200 (or even less?) would be fair.

Echoing what @erinbaderin: said, they made big changes i think around 2014, primarily around how to functions as a double. It might even be hard to buy a rumble seat for the 2011. I had that stroller and loved it, but I don’t actually think that’s a great price considering the new version had such significant changes. Do you want your older in a seat or are you think she will just stand on the buggy board? Alaonkn the older one I believe the weight limit for the rumble seat is only 30-35 lbs- I switched my kids before my older was 3, as soon as the little one could in the rumble.

I see newer ones on my FB site for that price, 8 years old is quite old! The Citi mini doubles come up a lot too for sale, I've heard good things about them!
Maybe offer her $300?

Are you planning to use it as a double? If so, are you aware that on the 2011 the extra seat can only rear-face? They redesigned them around 2014 so it can face either way - personally I’d look for a newer one for that reason.

If it's clean, well maintained, and something you will be happy with I'd make an offer. Don't low-ball them too bad but it's always worth it to counter a little; either way if you're ok with the $324 you'll get a good deal or a great deal.

To keep things brief, I am due with my second in November. My DD is currently 3 (she will be 3.5 when new baby arrives).

I am currently eyeing a 2011 Uppababy Vista stroller on a local resale FB group. It appears to be in good condition and comes with a bassinet, stroller seat, and skate/buggy board. In the last week the price has dropped from $400 to $324.

We currently have a 2015 Graco Click and Connect travel system that isn’t working that well lately (wheels keeping getting stuck), and it would only work for one kid at a time.

Wondering if I should buy the Uppababy at the current selling price ($324), negotiate a lower price, or pass altogether? Any advice?
