I'm freaking out a little, and need some help please...

So I took a test on Saturday, which looked negative, and a few hours later, a line appeared. So I redid it 2 days later, and same thing happened. Should I splurge on a digital?

Oh, I rinsed the first test a few times as it was yellow, but initially the line was a lot thicker. I'm so confused.

Opinions please!??

Had 3 losses, so scared to get my hopes up again.

This morning, I had a faint positive on a FRER. A week and a half ago, my PCP referred me to a rheumatologist, suspecting lupus (I had an elevated ANA titer). Two days ago, the rheumatologist didn't think it was lupus and ordered a ton of blood work. Yesterday, I got a Thyroid Peroxidase test back with my level at a 25 (9 and below is normal), and an anti-DNA double stranded test back that was negative.

In December, at 14 weeks, our NIPT came back positive for Trisomy 21, and at the follow up ultrasound the baby was dead. That event, on top of all these recent results, are creating a perfect storm of stress for me. I am trying to figure out what I should be doing and who I should be talking to.

I have a message in at the Ob-Gyn and the Rheumatologist. Last week, Ob-Gyn said to call them with a BFP, they would start to coordinate care with MFM. Two days ago, rheumatologist was very unconcerned about my possible pregnancy concerns, very much blew off those questions, didn't see any cause for concern (in her defense, we were talking before the thyroid test came back).

Does anyone have other ideas for what I should be doing? I know not all test results have come back, but I want to be proactive, and I am not a normally pushy person. But this is a baby, and if I have to be pushy to get more of what I need, I will be.

But can anyone help me with what I need? Or who I should be pushing harder to help me? Do I need to pursue an appointment with anyone else?

Thanks

Hi ladies,

I guess I'm feeling sorry for myself and could really use any happy stories you have to share! Did you or anyone you know have a baby at 40 years old or older? What was the journey like?

I keep going back and forth between thinking I'm too old/it's too late (I'm 40, DH is 51) and it's not too late, people do this all the time!

We've been ttc for just under a year and I know that's small in the big picture but the age issue makes timing seem more urgent. I'm wondering when to start involving medical intervention.

So share stories!

I'm posting on behalf of a friend.

Her first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage and let to a d&c with long lasting complications. The 2nd was conceived via IVF and resulted in her son who is just a year old. She is still nursing him. She ovulated on day 42 and I've attached photos of her tests. Each test was done around the same time each morning. No meds or anything this is a 'normal' cycle.

We're both not to sure whats going on since there is very little change in day to day - we both kind of expected darker lines. So a little worried it might be a chemical pregnancy?

Oh and there was some spotting around 10/ 11dpo but none since.

I’m wanting to start taking CoQ10 to help my egg quality. I’m still nursing my 13MO at naptime and bedtime and at random, sporadic times as she wants during the day. I can’t find concrete research on its safety while breastfeeding. Anyone use it while nursing? Experience with it in general, on improving egg quality? TIA!!

Anyone else here 40+ with low AMH? When we were seeing an RE 2 years ago for our second daughter, my AMH was .29 😬. I read that it decreases by about .1 per year. So, it’s probably about .09 now. I guess that pretty much means I’m done and have very little chance for a third. I’m 40. We are happy with our family as it is, but would happily welcome a third. Just wondering if anyone else is in my situation or similar or has been in the past.

Hi, ladies!

My DH and I have two little gals. Almost 4 and 7 months. We want one more baby. However, I just turned 40. He's 41. We had a little trouble getting pregnant both times and used IUI with injectable drugs, which worked first try with both babies.

I didn't get my period back until 18 months after DD1 due to breastfeeding. I'm breastfeeding this time as well and probably won't ovulate until then again. By that time, I will be 41.

Would you try to cut back on nursing to bring ovulation/period back sooner? Anyone else in a similar situation?

We’ve used IUI with injectable meds with both of our girls (worked first try both times). I guess I’m just wondering if there’s anyone else here in my age group currently trying or planning to try.

If you’ve been following my posts, you’ll know my journey thus far. Long story, short—I have low AMH/high FSH. I did Clomid this cycle and had two mature follicles so I did a trigger shot on Friday (CD12). However, at the US, my RE said he believes the Clomid thinned my uterine lining (measured at 4.88)...so 1. Has anyone ever switched from Clomid to femara and had improvement with thin lining? And 2. Any experiences with thin lining and successful pregnancy?

I saw my RE last week and he’s highly recommended both my husband and I get an extended genetic screening done that tests for things like the Fragile X Syndrome. I’m 36 with a low AMH (0.27) and one daughter and one m/c. He believes my AMH has been low for some time due to some other health issues (I have an extensive medical history of Crohns) and even though I’m in remission and have been since 2014, it’s more than likely the reason I’m struggling to get pregnant. Has anyone done this extensive testing? I’m overwhelmed because I didn’t even consider these things prior to seeing an RE. I want another baby so bad but if we were to test positive for a critical condition, I’m afraid I would feel like I needed to end my journey to conceive. Anyone have any experience? The actual screening is called Sema4 if you’re interested in more details. Thanks!

@Kaohinani: Hello and welcome! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I too found HB when I needed community and support while TTC, and it's what keeps me coming back to it. We've been TTC for 2+ years and are working with a RE now. We've been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. While we don't have any children yet, I do understand the pain of wanting a child and feeling like your family isn't complete, all while you're trying so very hard to change that.

If you're interested, you could join the POAS board that happens each month and where those of us TTC that month support one another.

I could use some major encouragement...my amh level came back as 0.27. My ob has immediately referred me to an infertility office and I go next Tuesday. I have one DD who will be 2 in July (11 years to conceive with no infertility diagnosis at that time) and m/c in December 2017.
Has anyone experienced these levels and gone to have another child? IVF isn’t a financial option for us.
My heart has hardly healed from losing my baby last year and I was given such hope in the fact I’ve been able to naturally conceive twice in 2 years that this was the last thing I was expecting to hear.
Thank you all!

I’m feeling so defeated these days. We are TTC #2 and I m/c in late December. Since then I haven’t had a regular cycle and to the best of my knowledge, I haven’t ovulated. I tracked after I got what I thought was my period in February but never got a positive and started spotting/light bleeding again 2 weeks later.
Backstory: I have a healthy 21 mo old that I waited 11 yrs for...I will be honest and say I don’t think it had anything to do with infertility (I’ve hever received any actual diagnosis) but mostly poor understanding on how my cycle and ovulation really worked. I just stopped obsessing over it and didn’t do any tracking or preventing and fell pregnant. Since my m/c, I’ve learned a ton of information but it’s all so overwhelming.
I’m seeing my OBGYN on Monday but I’m terrified that being 36, having a m/c, irregular cycles and possibly not ovulating will just mean I can’t have another child.
I’d love some feedback, encouragement or success stories. Thanks ladies!

Long story, short...I MC at 8 weeks late December 2017 and had first AF on 2/20 lasting 9 days. It was very light and most days it was just dark brown spotting.
Prior to getting pregnant (which we used OPK and got pregnant right away), I started with some irregular periods in July 2017. Until then, I’d been very regular and it had been exactly a yr since giving birth when they became irregular.

I turned 36 last month and I want to TTC sooner rather than later. I’m going in to see my OBGYN for a 2nd post op (I had D&C) because I want to move forward. I do not have any diagnosed fertility issues but it did take me 11 yrs to get pregnant with my daughter.

I know I’m going to ask about my cycles and possibly Provera and we are interested in Femara.

But can anyone tell me any other testing options I could ask about to check for underlying issues since I’m over the suggested maternal age? Like egg reserve/quality?

Today is CD16 (I’m somewhat guessing b/c period was weird and I didn’t count any post op bleeding which was also very minimal and a light flow) and still getting negative ovulation sign on a digital kit. I started on CD9. With my MC, I ovulated on CD12.

Sorry this is all over the place. I’m overwhelmed and frustrated. I’m beginning to feel defeated and hopeless with getting my rainbow baby.

TIA!

I FINALLY got my period yesterday! After almost 7.5 weeks since my D&C. Up until last July, my cycles were very predictable. I would have a day of spotting, 3-4 days bleeding and 1-2 days spotting. Very little to no cramping.
Yesterday, I felt fine until about 3pm and was on a walk with my daughter. Felt some very mild cramping and thought maybe it could be menstrual. Got home and definitely had dark red blood and I was for certain it was my period and I was going to be in for a heavy cycle. However, since then I’ve only had mild brown spotting. Is this normal?? I know everyone is different but if you’ve experienced this, I’d love to have some feedback. I’ve never wanted my period as bad as I do now. I’m ready to start trying!!
Thanks!

Ok ladies! I need someone to dumb down a few things for me!

I use the OVIA app and used the digital clear blue OPK.

This month, my cycle was 11/1-11/5 and I got a peak reading on OPK on 11/12 and a peak reading on 11/13. We BD on 11/10 and 11/12. We attempted again on 11/14 but weren’t successful (my husband couldn’t finish).

So here’s my questions:
1. Am I out this month?
2. What are the chances I could get a +POAS test before actually missing my period?
3. If my cycle is 30 days, and I get the same results on OPK next month, when is ideal to BD (keeping in mind my husband can’t finish if there isn’t some time in between—so every other day is possible but not always successful so every 3 days is more ideal)

I’ve googled myself into insanity during this TTW.

We have a 16 MO old but she was a surprise (after years of being told I’d probably never have kids) so I wasn’t tracking or anything with her!

I may have more questions as you comment but I just need some basics right now.

Thanks so much!!

I posted on here a few weeks ago that I have been trying to get pregnant and will be 36 in February. I had some irregular periods and missed one altogether for the month of October and followed up with my OB/GYN. I just finished a five day cycle but had very light bleeding. When I saw my OB/GYN a week ago she did some blood work to check my estrogen level. They just called to tell me that they want me to do further testing because Mike DHEA – S level was low. Has anyone else experienced this, taking medication or supplements and then still able to get pregnant over the age of 35? My heart is breaking into 1 million pieces because I want nothing more than to give my daughter a sibling. I would love any feedback or advice! Thank you exclamation

I will be 36 in February and I want another one so bad!! My rationale is that I had one, so could I possibly have another?? However since July I have had irregular cycles and haven’t had a period since September 7! And I’m not pregnant! I’m seeing my OB on Monday but my last US in September showed everything to be perfectly normal.
My heart longs so much for a little sibling for my daughter. I have always wanted to be a mom and I’m eternally grateful for her but something in my heart says I need one more (sorry to sound selfish).
Anyways, I’d love some feedback on those who conceived later in life AND stories of using Clomid.
Thanks in advance!!
Pic for attention😘

I'm 38, trying for our second. I had an antral follicle count today. Only 5 total. I know this is low. Anyone else have a count this low and have success becoming pregnant either with our without assistance? I had lab work done but won't have those numbers for at least a week.

I'll be 39 in September. We've just started trying for our second. I'm still nursing my 27-month-old daughter. My cycles started in September and have been regular for the last 7 months. However, I read today that breastfeeding can impair the progesterone production which results in unsuccessful implantation, especially for older women. 😔 Anyone here who can tell me otherwise? Would love to hear about your experience.

I've been MIA for awhile now. I'm no longer as excited about looking for signs each month.

Don't get me wrong, I still desperately want baby #2, but seeing people who just started trying get their BFP is taking a toll on me.

We've been trying for a year and a half, and more months than not my husbands travel schedule matches up with when I'm supposedly fertile.

Two weeks ago we got to "dance" a lot, and it was awesome, but I've gotten to the point where instead of checking to see if I'll be peeing on a stick when he gets home, I'm just calculating to see if I"ll be on my period or not.

I'm a bit of a pessimist.

Then on Saturday (about a week after I should have O'd) a felt a distinct sharp pinch in my lower abdomen, I'd never really felt that before.

Then early Monday I started to spot, and it was different. Usually it's more red, but this was definitely pink.
There was nothing more until Late Tuesday, when it turned to the red I usually have experienced a few days before my period, only this is a few days earlier than I usually spot.

But it didn't stop, and my period hasn't come in full force yet.

I"m on day 5 of light spotting. I can't even call it a light period yet, I don't think.

So I don't know if this is just a weird cycle, if when I test this weekend it will be positive, or if the change in my spotting from pink to red was a missed early miscarriage.

Thanks for letting me vent. I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this.

Why did you wait? For me, my DH and I didn't even meet until I was 30 and we didn't get married until I was 34. I got pregnant a month after we got married. Then we tried for our second as soon as we could stomach it. I had had a fairly tough pregnancy with my first and he was a tough infant that wasn't sleeping through the night at all. We started TTC again when he was 15 months but I didn't get pregnant for almost a year. I was 37 when we got pregnant.

We're TTC for baby #2. I'm still nursing our 26-month DD. I want to take a prenatal that's good for my breastmilk as well as for the new baby when we conceive. Wondering if I should go with a whole food vitamin like this one. Anyone have experience with these or have recommendations for another kind? Thank you! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XT38JY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SsM5ybDR8T2SS

I got pregnant with DD at 35 after surgery for endometriosis and a medicated IUI. All-in-all, took us about 2 years of trying before we finally figured out our problem. I'll be 39 in September and we are considering trying for our 2nd. Am I crazy? Anyone else in my "elderly" age group TTC now or soon? 😆

Hi all, this is officially the first time in my life I've posted on a board ever! I just read a lovely long supportive post, and joined straight away. Question is, is this an evap? Took this test just after midnight, negative, woke up 3 hours later with a weird horizontal dye run on it. So as any sane person would do, I ran it under the tap, and there's still the tiniest squinted there!?? Help please, TTC for 18 months after a loss, and it's the first "anything" I've seen.

With Verifi, MaterniT21, etc. I know the price is often covered under insurance if you're over 35. Does anyone know if this means you have to be 35+ to have the tests at a reduced costs, or if it counts if you will be 35 when the baby is born? Just a thought that it could be a huge difference in costs when it's only a difference of a few months!

I went off my pills this month, and we were going to wait until a month or two passed to make sure I was ovulating after nearly 4 years on the pill since our daughter was born, but we decided to throw caution to the wind and let it happen.
Like last time, we won't be charting or anything that'll drive us crazy. If we go six month with no luck we may consider it, but with my husbands work schedule knowing I'm ovulating may stress me out if he's away for work for the week. It's out of his control.

Our daughter was conceived on my second month off the pill.

Fingers crossed I ovulate this week and our dancing works!
