So last night I posted that I was struggling to conceive #2 and then today, this! Let’s call it hello bee karma. This is the best line I’ve ever gotten this early (10ish dpo), so I’m feeling pretty good about a sticky baby despite my history. 🤞🌈

So I know a lot of people who are still here know at least a little bit of my story, but my reproductive journey has been complicated—a miscarriage, then 2 consecutive ectopic pregnancies, then a healthy baby girl, and now another probable ectopic pregnancy. At this point our risk of another ectopic is approximately a coin flip and I’m considering IVF as a way to mitigate risk (although I know, for me, it would still be about 1 in 10). But I don’t know a lot other than the basics and a few, likely exaggerated stories, from a cousin. DH and I are very fertile and I’m not squeamish about needles, but I’m wondering what the hormones are like and how physically taxing or painful the whole process is. Anyone care to share?

My OBGYN prescribed oral progesterone for this natural cycle (before I go to IUI with an RE next cycle). However, they didn’t give specific instructions and now it’s too late to call until Monday. Ovulation day is today. When should I start taking it? It’s twice a day. Thank you!!

I had a TFMR 6 weeks ago and have been spotting every single day since. I finally went to the doctor today and I do have retained product. She prescribed misoprostol that I'll take tomorrow. I've been anxious for a cycle and ovulation so that I can start TTC again and I'm wondering how this will impact things. Does anyone have experience taking misoprostol for retained product and when they ovulated later? My HCG is already 0 and most of what I can find by searching are people who are taking it for the initial miscarriage.

I’ve just started working with an RE after three losses this year (1 mc and 2 ectopic) and I’m scheduled for an saline sonohysterogram on Thursday to look at my tubes, but everything I can find online about SHG is talking about the uterus only, and HSG (similar but different test) to looks at the tubes. Has anyone on here had an SHG for tubal patency? I trust that my dr knows what she’s doing, but I just don’t know what to expect. Everything says that SHG is easier than HSG, but I’m wondering if that’s because they aren’t sending anything through the tubes. Just looking for experiences really.

I'm looking for help/experiences. I had an ectopic pregnancy back in April/May, and am newly pregnant again so they're watching me very closely, as they do. My first round of bloodwork came back really good, but my second and third rounds have only been increasing by ~50% in 48 hours. Obvioulsy, I'm scared of another ectopic. Has anyone been through this? I know the risk of a second ectopic pregnancy is ~15%, but does anyone know what it jumps to if you've had two? The doctors seem to think using methotrexate again will be fine, but if it means I have a 50% risk of doing this all over the next time I try, I'd really rather go with surgery. It feels awful to think that my best case at this point seems to be failing IUP. Looking for anything. Thanks.

There was a thread going like this 6 months ago and I thought there were a lot of us who could use another one.. I'm stealing the little Q and A from the original.

Date of loss: CP's in November and January and by LMP I'm 7.5 weeks now, but it's not viable. Waiting to miscarry :/

How long are you waiting to TTC again: I'm thinking one cycle, so when I get my period again after I miscarry. Though I could be swayed by hormones....

Any kids: DS1 is 3.75 and DS2 is 2.5

How are you feeling? A bit hopeless one moment and incredibly determined for my rainbow baby the next.

I was 5 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy) and miscarried. I am really having a hard time - there are moments where I am okay them I am overwhelmed with this sadness. It is the first thing I think of when I wake up and then I feel sad ... I did not expect it to be this difficult ... I know it will take time but I am constantly blaming myself - was is something I ate or did to cause this ... I'm so nervous to try again and then go through this again I am absolutely devastated

I'm sure many of you are familiar with my recent story...our baby boy was diagnosed with T21 and we terminated at 18.5 weeks. It had been a very long 5 weeks leading up to that decision (we found out from the MaterniT21 blood test that it was positive and then went and had an amnio to confirm diagnosis) and had a lot of time to consider our decision.

Although it has only now been two weeks from my procedure, the doctor said I have the go ahead to start trying again whenever my husband and I are ready. She said you can become fertile again anywhere from 7-10 days after the procedure.

Right now, DH and I both feel we want to start trying asap and to not let a big gap in between happen. It took us 1.5 years, the last 5 months being with fertility treatment, to make that precious baby and I cannot go through that again. I want to take this opportunity while the doctors say "it is possible that it could happen all on its own this time" and use it to my advantage.

I know some people might look at this as we are trying to emotionally "replace" our little boy but I don't see it that way. I think emotionally, the best thing for me at least, would be to get pregnant asap and be able to continue to keep moving forward.

Anways, with all that being said, I am looking for anyone who has been in a similar situation to share how long it took you to get pregnant after tfmr? Did you wait for your first period? How long did it take for your hcg level to be totally gone? Any information that you can share would be greatly appreciated. I have not gotten my period back yet, doctors said probably 3-6 weeks for that, but I am eager to get going. I took some ovulation tests which couldn't be more positive but I also took a pregnancy test which was still positive so I'm betting that is affecting the ovulation test.

Just looking for advice, info, support, etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone. This is long, I apologize. No one in my life really gets this like this HB community does.... As usual I'm not sure where to turn so I thought I'd reach out for either commiseration or advice.
(Background: reproductively I have a lot of things stacked against me. I'm 34 with Diminished ovarian reserve. FSH and AMH almost off the charts bad. Did the whole RE/ IUI injectables etc. Had a miscarriage at 8 weeks last summer. D&C really threw off my cycles for months. BUT I have gotten pregnant twice naturally when my RE said it would be very unlikely! so I believe it can happen again. I have a perfect little 2 year old.)
My problem is that I simply cannot get pregnant when I actively try. I'm sure you've heard this story before... I am very type A. Both times I conceived I was (pretty) relaxed and had "given up." That will never, ever happen to me because all I want is one more baby and cannot simply "stop trying". My family is not complete. I wouldn't say TTC completely consumes me but I think about it a lot. I've learned to manage the ups and downs of months of BFNs but I do have one day of real depression.
I do not enjoy sex. After 3 years of infertility and loss I can't just "have fun" and "relax". It's not fun at all. My husband is wonderful and understanding but sex is not enjoyable.
I stopped OPKs and checking CM etc, it made me even more stressed and controlling. We just have sex every other day for like a week and a half. I cannot have more sex than that.

I take vitamin supplements, do meditation, use light therapy, and see a therapist. None of this has really helped me "let go". And now I'm convinced I will never get pregnant because I want it too desperately. I have 5 friends in the same situation unable to get pregnant because they are trying desperately.
So what do I do? If we "take a break", I won't want to have sex because it's not enjoyable. Adoption is not a desirable option for us.

Tl:Dr: is it possible to get pregnant if you are really trying? How can I "stop trying" and relax?

Any help is appreciated.

After almost 7 weeks post m/c and D&C, I finally got my period—or so I thought. 9 days ago I started with darker red bleeding and it has been very light since then (some days I would only count it as spotting). I do wear tampons because on the few occasions I thought I’d be safe just wearing a pad, I would have a smaller increase of bleeding that would lead me to think it could become heavier.
I’m so confused on how to “count” at this point. I’ve never had to change my tampon simply due to my flow but for safety concerns, I don’t go more than 4-6 hrs without changing.
Help!! Should I start using my OPK tomorrow like the instructions suggest? Tomorrow would be day 10 since I noticed anything.
Thanks!!

Hey folks. I've got some questions about repeat loss workup.

2 weeks ago I had a D&C for my 4th non-viable pregnancy this year.
• The first was anembryonic/blighted ovum
• The 2nd was kind of mysterious. hCG levels got high enough that something should have been visible on ultrasound...but it never was. It presented a lot like an ectopic; fortunately, pregnancy tissue was seen when I had a D&C and hCG values fell afterward.
• The 3rd was ectopic, treated with methotrexate
• The last one had cardiac motion at 5 and 6 weeks, but when I went back at 9 weeks, development had stopped sometime between 6 and 7 weeks.

I was supposed to do repeat loss workup after the ectopic, but, I got pregnant again before it could happen. This time, I'm preventing until that workup can happen because the uncertainty and all the time spent dealing with appointments for miscarriage/ectopic management is getting really taxing.

Did anyone's workup actually turn anything up?

If there's something fixable, I would feel good about trying again. If there's something like a translocation where the odds are just abysmal, I could feel good about having an only.

I'm not sure what to do if the workup turns up nothing (which I know is most likely).

After your period returned post M/C, specifically if you had a D&C, did it return to a normal cycle? How long did it take? Did you have to take any medication to stimulate a cycle?
I’m 7 weeks post D&C and 4 weeks since my HCG dropped to zero (for those who saw my post this week, it was apparently a false positive as I have gotten several negative HPT since Wednesday 😢)and I’m anxious to start TTC again. But still no period. Calling Dr. in morning but would love to know your experience.

However, I still haven’t started my period. I have been having what I would consider ovulation like discharge (EWCM) for over a week. I’m scheduled for my annual this coming Monday and will definitely address it but has anyone else experienced this?? How long until your cycle returned? Did you require any intervention such as Provera to restart your cycle?

I have a pretty complicated question. I have an appt with my OB in 2 weeks but I'm looking for other perspectives as my practice isn't much help. I don't know who to ask anymore.
I had a D&C in August. Baby passed at 8w, I found out at 13week NT scan. Everything seemed fine after d&c, no infection symptoms and a period 30 days after.
As I am desperate to get pregnant, I started taking 200mg Rx progesterone suppositories 4 days post O. I have extremely low progesterone probably due to stress and I think it helped me get pregnant with my first son who is 2.. OPKs did indicate possible ovulation but I was all over the place with O. For 3 months I got BFN so I'd stop taking progesterone and it would trigger a period 2 days later.
This month I did not use the progesterone because I had some really heavy bleeding and serious internal swelling it felt like and I wanted to see what my real cycle was like... And now I am 12 days late for my period and BFN. I'm thinking that the progesterone just caused false periods and maybe something is really wrong with my cycles.
Is it normal to be this irregular 5 months post D&C? Could progesterone have triggered a fake period?
I am 34 with history of infertility, low progesterone, low egg count, you name it. I did get pregnant naturally twice though.

TlDr: was taking Progesterone in an attempt to get pregnant post D&C and since stopping progesterone I haven't gotten my period.

Anything you have to add will help :-(

Hello all, question for the group: I've been bleeding lightly (dark red and brown blood but no clots TMI I know) off and on for the past 4 days, but no real cramping or other period side effects. I'm wondering if implantation bleeding could last that long or if it's just a weird early AF. I'm pretty sure I Oed on day 11. But I lost a pregnancy in November so it might just be my cycle being weird, although my first AF came exactly 28 days after the miscarriage. Has anyone had implantation bleeding last more than a day or two?

I lost our second child at 8 weeks and had a D&C last week. This has been such a painful and heartbreaking journey for me.

I’m almost 36 yrs old and have a healthy 18 mo old and want so badly to have another child.

I “struggled” for 11 yrs with no definitive explanation as to why I wasn’t able to get pregnant but after meeting my 2nd husband, and not using protection or prevention, we got pregnant naturally 3 yrs into our relationship. Had a great pregnancy and labor.

Now here I am wanting to try again (planning on waiting a full cycle) but I’d love to have some feedback on a few questions. I’ll warn you—I may have more questions 🙈

1. After you had a miscarriage, did you have recurrent miscarriage before successfully getting pregnant?

2. Did you change anything about your health with trying after a miscarriage?

3. If you had a miscarriage, did you have any underlying fertility diagnoses prior or discovered after miscarriage?

4. Was your OBGYN supportive and accommodating if you got pregnant after a miscarriage? If so, in what ways?

Thank you so much ladies. I feel so lost but this site has been such a ray of hope for me!

We found out this week that we lost our 2nd baby at 8 weeks. To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement.

I’m almost 36 yrs old and after 11 years of trying, we had our daughter 18 months ago. While it was a shock to conceive her and we had stopped “trying so hard”, I had an amazing pregnancy and labor with her and she’s healthy and happy.

We want to try again after a full cycle but I’m terrified. How do you process the fears and anxiety? I’m not sure I could handle another loss but at the same time, I don’t want the fear to keep me from possibly welcoming another healthy baby.

I welcome any advice, stories and experiences. Thank you in advance!

Hi all, I wondered if anyone could weigh in on my first round of blood work? I had a miscarriage at the end of September and am very fortunate to have gotten pregnant on my first ovulatory cycle since. My first beta was a 245 (roughly 14 DPO, Cycle Day 27) and my progesterone level was 18. I know for the beta they're looking for doubling in 48 hours (I'll get it drawn tomorrow), but hope anyone in the know could weigh in on these numbers. I'm obviously very nervous having just had a loss, and this is my first round of beta draws, so I'm a little in the dark. Please feel free to share your numbers if you remember them! I'm especially wondering about the progesterone. Fingers crossed this one sticks. :goodluck:

Hi there! long time lurker here!

I recently had an ectopic pregnancy that was resolved with medication. My doctor advised me that I should wait one full cycle before trying again and that my chances of having another ectopic pregnancy are increased. I have had two other successful pregnancies. But I'd really like a third child. The emotional toll of this experience has been the worst part of the whole thing and part of me wonders if I should just give up on the idea of three and just be grateful for my two great, healthy kids. :bummed:

Has anyone else had an ectopic pregnancy and then gone on to have more children? What was your experience like?

It’s been 5 months since an unexpected early loss. DH and I been trying for the last four months - really hitting near perfect timing and are still waiting for that hoped for baby after our loss. As I contemplate trying again this cycle and the emotions that it causes - would love to hear any hopeful stories of conception after loss.

How long did it take you to conceive after an early loss. How did you keep trying if it was more than a few months? What helped you through that time?

Thanks so much for sharing with me!

If you miscarried naturally (not a D&C), how long did it take for your bleeding to stop? And how long did it take for your cycle to regulate back to normal? Just curious about others' experiences.
