I'm 30 and my first just turned 1. It took us 3 very long years to finally get pregnant. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility so it's not like there was anything "wrong". I was told I had low AMH, although I cant remember the number I think it was on the low end of normal. Although the doctor did say she didnt want us to waste too much time trying with IUI before going to IVF. luckily I ended up getting pregnant with IUI.

Now, I've had baby fever since LO was 4 months old. But I need to work 6 months to qualify for mat leave and pay top-up. So the plan was to start TTC when LO turned 1

But now with the pandemic.... I dont know what to do. I'm in Canada and in a province with some of the lowest numbers. This could mean nothing though. But what if it takes us another 3 years?

What would you do?

Last year I had my tubes tied because we thought we were done having kids. I was in a bad place and the thought of another kid was enough to drive me crazy. As they wheeled me into surgery I contemplated calling surgery off, but I didn't. And I've thought about it ever since.

Even on the days where the kids are crazy, I still think of adding a third. My husband and I are talking out all our options and whether a third is in our future or not and seeing if we should go the route of IVF. I don't think I'm interested in having my tubes untied since it's a lengthy process, less likely to work, and then I'd be back on birth control after the possible baby.

So I'm curious to hear others opinions on a baby after a tubal, and especially if you went the IVF route!

Hi,

Hubby and I are trying to conceive number two. Number one was pretty easy, cycle 1. With number two we’ve tried two cycles so far with no success. I’m 33. I’m already disappointed and it’s only cycle 2. I know many women go years without conceiving so I mean no disrespect at all. I know they say you only have a 25% chance of conceiving each month but I was hoping it would be soon.

Hi ladies,
This is my first month ttc on progesterone during luteal phase (vaginal, 100mg twice a day) following recurrent loss.

Anyone have any side effects?! I feel awful (like more so than I ever did with pregnancy even but similar) mostly stomach upset, heartburn, dizzy, headache. It says all those symptoms as side effects but I thought more common with taking orally.

Way too early to be pregnant symptoms unfortunately (6dpo here) but interested what other ppl experiences were and how they tolerated it!

I have been trying to get pregnant with baby #2 for two years now. In the first six months of trying I had an ectopic followed by two miscarriages. Those pregnancies were all conceived naturally. It has been a year and half since my last miscarriage and still no pregnancy.

We have done two rounds of Clomid, two rounds of Femara and one injectables + IUI cycle without success. I've also done acupuncture and tried myo-inositol and a few other supplements. I'm at a healthy weight and have always eaten well and exercised. Chromosomal testing was normal and the HSG was good.
My most recent CD 3 labs were back in Feb and my results were: estradiol 20, FSH 5.19, TSH 1.6 and AMH 6.36.

My RE was slightly leaning towards a PCOS diagnosis because of longer cycles (35-45 days) and higher AMH but it wasn't a concrete diagnosis and they have labeled me as "unexplained."

I am still using OPKs and BDing at the right time but honestly have given up any hope of ever being pregnant again. I've read some posts here about becoming pregnant naturally after an unexplained diagnosis but has it taken anyone over two years? Any advice? After already spending thousands on testing and treatment over the past year we are not willing to spend any more money trying to get pregnant.

TTC is not consuming my life like it used to and I am incredibly happy with our family of three. If I never get pregnant again I will not be distraught for the rest of my life, but every month I always get my hopes up and then am let down when my period arrives. My husband is considering a vasectomy just so we can close this chapter and move on. I'm sorry for the long rambly post but I guess I am just looking for an outside perspective.

But I desperately want another child. I feel so trapped. My story is long but in short, I have severe diminished ovarian reserve (AMH 0.1, FSH in the 20s-30's), had a hard time conceiving my son, had a miscarriage/ D&C at 12w with #2, and my cycles have basically been destroyed since due to grief and the stress of TTC. After a 53 day cycle I finally conceded and tried a new RE (something I said I never would do again b/c in the past all the fertility interventions failed and they were debilitatingly stressful). I'm only 34 (with the eggs of a 44 year old) and I (and my RE) do believe I can get pregnant- maybe. It will just take a long time. And lots of appointments at the clinic, an hour away from my work. And lots of Clomid (I don't qualify for IVF).
And I don't want to go through this. It's damaging my marriage, and the stress of TTC is throwing off my cycles.
The physical and emotional stress is almost unbearable but I don't feel like I can "take a few months off"- this summer when I am off is the only time I can feasibly try an IUI. I am running out of time, that was made very clear to me by my doctor.
Essentially, I need to stop trying so hard but I can't.
If adoption were easier and not rife with even more stress than this, I would consider it.
I have always wanted two children and I feel my family is incomplete- (though I will say having one kid is really easy at this point!)
The thought of just being done and not going through this again makes me feel soo sooo happy and sooo free.
If you were me, and you had one perfectly healthy child, would you just quit trying, knowing you have months and possibly years of stressful TTC and medical interventions to have #2?

Here's my situation for those that don't know...and its the short version...I found out a couple of weeks ago that I carry a chromosomal abnormality that has caused my two miscarriages. They were hesitant to give us concrete odds, but from the advice they gave us and my own research, it seems like every time I get pregnant its 60-75% chance of miscarriage, 25-40% chance of healthy baby (at least in terms of my chromosomal abnormality...of course I guess there are other things that could happen outside of the 'known').

Anyway, my dilemma is this. They are recommending IVF w/PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) as our best chance of conceiving our own baby that is carried to term. But its a really hard step for me to take. I just have this feeling that I can't shake - that we should try just one more time on our own. I know the odds are against us, but I feel like its what I need. Best case, we end up having a healthy baby on our own. Worst case, I have another miscarriage. It might sound callous, but I've already had two...and if I'm prepared for it, I think I can handle another. And if it happens, I think I'm ready to move on to IVF.

Is this a bad idea? My husband ultimately supports whatever I decide, but he is ready to do IVF tomorrow if we could. He thinks that trying again on our own just sets us back a few more months and will be hard on me (physically and emotionally).

What would you do? Do I need to put my emotions and fears aside?
(NOTE: I know there are other options like adoption, but right now its between naturally or IVF)

Sorry for any repeat from a previous post but this is our first month using any fertility interventions (and I am a wee bit nervous it was all for nothing.)

We figured out that I might get my surge when my husband was out of town but my doctor was so sure that I wouldn't. As it turns out, I did get my surge while he was gone. :bummed: If I had had any idea, we would have BD Friday morning. Do you still think I have a chance?

Saturday am-- negative opk
Saturday pm-- positive opk, did trigger shot
Sunday pm-- BD when DH got home
Monday pm-- BD
Tuesday pm (future)-- BD (though probably pointless)

So, I had two 13mm follicles on Wednesday and my doctor was sure I wouldn't O until Monday or Tuesday. So, I tested this morning on an advanced digital opk and it was peak fertility like it has been the past few days. I just took another (cheapie) and it was blazing positive.
The problem is, DH is out of town until tomorrow afternoon. My doctor told me to trigger when I got a positive but should I wait until the morning or do it now since DH won't be home until then? I have no clue what to do. Any advice would be appreciated very much.

I have done a bunch of searches on this and I know there are lots of past posts asking for support/advice - I have read them all but I feel it can't hurt to check in with current posters...

My head is ALL over the place at the moment. My husband and I have been TTC loosely since January - I have been tracking and we have been trying during my fertile period, but nothing beyond that. We are on cycle 6 - it took exactly that long with my son who is now 3 and a few months.

I feel so different this time around. Every time I get my period it seems to make me want to get pregnant less, rather than more. We are in such a great place with my son (and he's been an easy baby, toddler, and the usual threenager nonsense but nothing we can't handle). He's toilet trained, an amazing communicator, loving, and we make such a great little unit. When I am in the TWW I am nervous and anxious, but more about being pregnant and how it will change our life, rather than about getting pregnant.

I'm trying to figure out what this means. Should I go against my current feelings because we obviously wanted a second enough to start trying in the first place, or should I pay attention to my (and my husbands - we have talked extensively and seem to be on exactly the same page which is to say - undecided to the nth degree!) feelings and give it a rest?

I'm 36...still have time but not unlimited. We will not use any interventions to get pregnant. Most of our friends and all of our siblings have 2 or more children.

I'm feeling very lost :bummed: Does anyone have any advice or experiences to share? I would love to hear from people that are one and done and happy with it, and people who were but changed their minds...hit me with all your experiences!

I wanted to change it up and hear about success after infertility and/or loss since there are quite a few of us looking for hope lately.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP:

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.) and/or loss history:

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc):

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc):

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc):

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?

We're a couple months short of actively TTC for a whole year, but have been off BC for over 2.5 and not preventing prior to starting TTC.....so we're headed down the path of unexplained infertility which is super frustrating because while it's good to know nothing is "wrong" it's almost harder than having an answer or explanation.

So a short back-story: I had an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in surgery in October and last week I had a natural miscarriage at 6+1.
I feel like I am constantly in limbo now. Waiting to stop bleeding, waiting for levels to drop, waiting for ovulation, waiting to test, waiting for beta results, waiting to miscarrying… it goes on and on. I’m 9 days post miscarriage now and my levels are back to 0 so I’m, again, waiting to ovulate.
Does anyone have any advice on how to stop “waiting” for something all the time? I’m not necessarily worried or anxious because I have learned that the real anxiety starts after a positive test but I definitely feel on edge.

My husband and I are going into our 4th cycle trying to conceive. I know it is super early and everyone says it can take up to a year to conceive, but in my day to day life, I literally have only been hearing about and meeting the women that got pregnant lickity split. It is warping my sense of what is normal. So how about it ladies? How long did it take you to conceive your first?

When did your fertility return? We've been TTC for 3+ cycles now. IUD was out when LO was 16 mo and weaned at about 18.5 mo. The first cycle TTC though LO was only BFing 2x/day, and down to 1x/day the second cycle. My first cycle after my IUD was out was 38 days, I figured it was long due to getting back on track after the IUD. Next cycle was 31 days (normally 30-31) and figured we just had bad luck since our timing seemed good. This cycle (fully weaned LO on CD1) is going on 36 days now with tons of BFN and driving me batty. I had all the ovulation signs (without charting) on time but now it's a whole lot of nothing. It did take a couple weeks for me to dry up from BF (I was an overproducer and apparently the girls were sad to give it up!) and also was really sick at the beginning of my cycle. But I wasn't expecting my period to go AWOL when last month was so normal and I had only been nursing LO once per day. I never had long cycles before LO!

My plan was to do OPKs next cycle to see if my timing is off or I'm not actually ovulating, but now I'm just worried I haven't gotten my period at all and it's getting later and later. I've made peace with not getting pregnant this month but desperately want to move on!! Any stories or words of wisdom?

So we are on cycle #3 to TTC #2. First cycle was after getting my IUD out and was longer than usual. Second cycle was back to normal. This cycle I was really hoping it was it and this weekend should be ovulating and have been having faint brown tinged CM and today some spotting with BD. I'm worried it's going to be a funky cycle and I won't ovulate. I'm not using OPKs or temping - just using a fertile week based on when I ovulated when TTC LO (used OPKs then). We're trying a lower stress approach this time (LO was our rainbow baby after a m/c) and I"m not sure it's working for me! New this month was for the past week I've had a terrible flu turned sinus infection and am now on antibiotics, so I'm not sure if that's affected anything. I have finally turned the corner though but not back 100%. I don't recall ever having spotted with ovulation before. I can usually notice EWCM for quite a few days during my fertile week and haven't seen any yet. But I was taking decongestants and thought maybe that messed things up.

Ideas? I am just so frustrated to think I may be out this cycle already. I know 3 mo isn't long in the scheme of things but all my close friends/family are the try one month or oops club and it makes me feel like I'm the only one not a fertile mertile and I have such bad baby fever!! Plus next cycle we'll be visiting family over my fertile week which does not bode well for alone time with DH. Sigh.

I posted last month quite a bit about my very strange chart and abnormal cycle... Apparently this is another month totally off. Looking for some second opinions

Today is CD22 and still no Ovulation detected. It has been now 10 day of watery CM, like... A really gross amount honestly to the point where I feel like I've peed myself all day long 😂🙈 tomorrow is when FF depicted AF but no signs (actually the opposite)

Is this something I should see a doctor about? I have been reading TCOYF and know that 10 day is excessive for watery CM. Hubby is getting exhausted from BD every other day haha

Okay ladies, this is mostly just a big rant but I need to get it out! LO is almost 18 mo and we're gearing up to TTC for #2. The first time around for LO resulted in a miscarriage after a couple cycles and then took about 6 mo after until the BFP for LO. Which in hindsight isn't terrible but I was so stressed out and the miscarriage really was devastating. Needless to say I have some stress related to even the idea of TTC!

So we planned to get my IUD out a couple months early to start tracking my cycle and not "try" but not prevent. My IUD has been out for over 5 wks now and I haven't had a period (lots of BFNs, so not pregnant). It came back like clockwork the first time when TTC #1. So now I'm worried about when/if my period will come back!

Most of my close friends have gotten pregnant quickly, even one who needed meds because she wasn't ovulating got pregnant more quickly in total time than I did with LO! My BFF didn't even get her period after her IUD was removed, got a BFP instead. I was going to join one of the POAS threads but it seems like everyone has been getting BFPs (which is awesome for them!) and I was just too discouraged. My SIL is already in the 2nd tri with LO2 and her LO1 is younger than my LO! She's also a pregnant on first cycle lucky one even though she has a chronic disease.

I guess I'm just feeling down and either need someone to shake some sense into me and/or commiserate. Both are welcome! I have crazy baby fever and want a sibling for LO, and do not do well with things out of my control. Le sigh.

I'm not confident that we will be lucky this month with TTC. Our timing wasn't great because of how busy we have been.

However, I have learned a lot in the last few months and I think I have a pretty good idea when I'm ovulating. I'm just not sure when the best timing would be to 'get things done'.

This is the pattern I've noticed. I get a positive OPK, and then about 12-24 hours later I get the O pain. It's an unmistakable ache in my side. I get it every month, no fail. It lasts about 24 hours, but about 10 hours after the initial light pain, it can get so painful that I need tylenol.

Right around the peak time of pain, do you think that's when ovulation is actually occurring? Or does it occur at the first sign of pain?

I've read that it could take up to 12 hours for sperm to get where it needs to be, and then it can last up to 5 days.

Is it still best for us to DTD when we get the positive OPK? Or would it be better to hold off until I start feeling the pain? (Sex wouldn't be comfortable, but I'm willing to do it anyway!)

we didn't tell anyone "IRL" because I really didn't want judgment. people thought we were too young (though married and with and months from my graduate degree!).

with my second, I didn't tell either, because whenever I casually mentioned another all I ever heard was "oh you have years. just enjoy DD1, there's no rush!" so I just kept it to myself!

Due to life and schedules we were only able to dtd 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation (I'm guessing - pos opk day prior). It's our 4th month ttc #2 and I'm getting antsy. Anyone get pregnant with bad timing?
