Our 20 week u/s gave a diagnosis of renal pylectasis. We had a clear quad screen and an otherwise clear ultrasound, but I'm wondering about what to expect at the followup 32 week ultrasound and what after birth will look like if it hasn't cleared up. Do any bees have experience with this?

So when I went in at 30 weeks for an ultrasound baby girl was measuing 32 weeks. She was already 4lbs. Nurse said I was measuring ahead. Does this just mean big baby or is there a chance baby will come a bit ealry? I was curious if other ladies had this happen and what the outcome was. My other kids always measured on time.

Just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. YAY! This will be our third.

So, my first appointment will be in two weeks from today. Based on my LMP, I am 5W2D right now. However, I think that's WRONG! I didn't ovulate until cycle day 22, so that calculation would be off. They will most likely say baby is small compared to LMP.

Adjusted for my ovulation date (4/18), I am 4 weeks exactly today. So, I will have just turned 6 weeks for this first ultrasound. Should I expect to see a heartbeat? Should I be concerned if I don't?

So many "what-if" questions.

Thanks, ladies!

I had an ultrasound done almost a week ago. I know the top pic shows where I ovulated, but the other three pics I can’t seem to find the yolk sac. I know it’s not the best photo, but unfortunately I didn’t get to take my ultrasound home with me for some reason. Maybe because I didn’t ask for it? My dr said he saw the yolk sac, but I don’t see it on any of these photos...

If you were team green, did the tech have you look away at the anatomy scan? Do it without telling you? Did you look? And, if so, did you think you could tell and we’re you right or not?

So many questions :)

Just left mine. She checked without telling us. I assumed she’d tell us to look away so I watched everything. Thought maybe I saw girl but who knows if I even looked at the right area.

Today’s ultrasound at 33w2d shows baby’s head circumference measuring at 31w4d, femur length at 31w5d and estimated weight at 4lb 5oz, which is 36th percentile. My doctor said none of this is anything to worry about. But, guess what. I’m super worried anyway. Especially about the head circumference. Anyone have similar experience? Any input is appreciated!

I just had my first ultrasound (I think I am 6w6d) and they have me at 6w1-2d I am very confident of my dates. There was a heartbeat of 126. Can early ultrasounds be off? Any insights or experiences?

I know there's no way to REALLY predict for sure, but I'm just curious! LO and I were both decently bald at birth and stayed that way until 1 yr old, so it will be very surprising if this one is different (I don't know about DH's baby hair). But at our 31-wk 3D ultrasound yesterday, the tech commented on the hair a couple times, showing us the "pinpricks" that made it clear to her. What do you think? Did ultrasound techs ever mention hair to you at late ultrasounds, and did they turn out to be right?

Adding a photo because why not? :)

Just for fun - If you have more than one child, and their ultrasound pics looked similar, did they end up looking the same once they were born?

I have 2 boys and a girl on the way.
DS1 and DS2's ultrasound pics looked totally different. And 1.5 years later....they still look totally different.
DD1's ultrasound looks just like DS1's pics, and I'm wondering if they'll look similar once she's born.

We just had our 18 week anatomy scan this morning and they found that I have a single umbilical artery. There were no other abnormalities - heart / kidneys / brain all looked good. We did the NT scan and associated bloodwork at 12 weeks and it came back normal, so really its just the SUA right now. It was with a MFM doctor since I had really high blood pressure in my last pregnancy.

The doctor said we could opt to do an amnio if we wanted (and she actually pushed for an amnio at my 12 week screen and said they are "the norm" now which I totally don't believe!)

Right now the plan is to just go back for another US at 28 weeks and then monitor growth every few weeks after that.

I found some older posts on this in the boards but wondering if anyone else has been through this recently and what you decided to do / how things turned out for you?

I had my first ultrasound today and am measuring a week behind where I thought I was. Based on my LMP I should be 7w1d and based on when I think I ovulated I should be 7w2d. Baby was measuring 6w1d with a heart rate of 114.

I'm not 100% sure of my ovulation date - I'm just guessing based on CM/past cycles. However, we only BD once that cycle and even if we conceived at O-5 I should be 6w5d... My OB didn't seem to be worried at all but I have a follow up ultrasound in two weeks.

Sorry for the rambling but should I be concerned? Anyone have experience with a similar situation?

My hubby will be out of state for my first ultrasound next Friday. We don't really have the option of postponing. If your husband couldn't be there, would you try to take a video of it to show him? Would you take your mom or MIL or just go alone? Trying to decide. He's not super upset about missing it, since it'll only be 6w3d and he knows you can't see much at that point. But, still.

Did anyone have a circumvalette placenta? They told me I had one today and would need ultrasounds to "keep an eye on it." But she wouldn't tell me if it was no big deal or meant something bad could happen. I googled at home and it looks like there are a range of outcomes from everything's fine no issues at all to prematurity/stillbirth. So I'm trying not to freak out. I think mine is just partial (she said a part of the placenta wasn't attached, so I'm assuming that means it isn't a complete circumvalette placenta. It sounds like there can be degrees.)

Also my placenta is somewhat low. A centimeter above my cercix. This happened with my first and it moved up. They generally move up right? Did anyone have one stay or move down? I really don't want to end up on bed rest/with a c-section!

The ultrasound office will book them as early as 14 weeks, but I'm concerned that's too soon. On the other hand, I want to find out as soon as possible. If you had a gender reveal ultrasound, how many weeks were you and was it accurate/easy to see gender?

We found out a few weeks ago that we're having our third girl. We were thinking it was another girl and both of our girls are excited. :) Each of our girls though were stubborn during the ultrasound about giving us a good peek at the sex. This time around after much searching and prodding, we were finally told girl. I didn't really question it but last night I had a very vivid dream that I gave birth and the baby ended up being a boy. I can't stop thinking about it! I know it's very unlikely, but I do know that I've heard of it happening before. Grateful that we're going to have another ultrasound coming up because they weren't quite able to get all the shots they needed last time. Hopefully we will get another peek and my mind will be put at ease!

But in the meantime… Do you know someone that was told one gender and ended up having the other? 💗💙

I have my anatomy scan first thing tomorrow morning and there is a good chance that there will be no school due to a major snowstorm tomorrow. I haven't been able to find a sitter and we do not live near family. Two good friends have nannies who would be willing to watch them but their kids have had norovirus in the last week (no thank you!). We are allowed to bring our kids, but pretty sure DS2 (age 2) would be a nightmare and completely distracting (even with an iPad or lollipop). DS1 (age 4.5) would probably be great and would love it. Given my past history of receiving bad news late into pregnancy I can't imagine taking them with us, but I'm honestly not sure what other option we have.

So, have you had to take your kids to an ultrasound before? How bad was it?

I have an u/s scheduled for Monday, 11/14 and will be 7 weeks by LMP, but I think only 6 weeks and 3-4 days by ovulation. With my other pregnancies I saw HBs at 6 weeks, 4 days each time. I'm wondering if it's 6 weeks, 3 days will it be too early? What's the earliest you've seen HB on an ultrasound?

I went to my first obgyn appt yesterday and surprisingly enough they let me come in this early in the game. I'm only 5w7d. To top it all off they ordered an ultrasound for this week. Due to my work schedule I'm unable to do it until next week but that's still really early. I'm not sure if it's because I've had a miscarriage or because this is my second baby...any thoughts? Or has anyone had an ultrasound done that early? I'll be 7w3d on the day of the ultrasound.

Either way I am sure excited. I think this ultrasound will give me a little piece of mind.

Anatomy scan today, my normal clinic cancelled with a sick tech so I got in at another local option. Tech told me nothing, not "everything looks good", "growth look on track", "baby looks good, but I saw something your doctor will discuss with you". Told me mid ultrasound she needed to do a transvaginal ultrasound to check my cervix. This is my third baby and definitely never had a transvaginal beyond 10w along.

I realize if it's bad, my doc will call soon, just wanted to check in here to see if anyone has any experience and what came of it.

Had my follow up appointment from my anatomy scan. Doctor said that baby has a minuscule bubble in his heart and that it's a non-issue basically. So small, and because I'm young etc, she says no tests are needed and not to even worry about it.

I'm trying not to worry, but has anyone else had this? Did baby come out just fine?

I'm so annoyed at my OB practice. I saw an NP at my 8 week appointment and told her we wanted to do the NT scan and screening. She told me we could schedule that at my next appointment in 4 weeks. I had in my head it needed to be done by 13 weeks so at the end of the appointment I asked her about it again and she said the same thing. I had my 12 week appointment today and asked the doctor about it and he said it was too late now to schedule it because they'd never get me in within the next week. 😤 I know based on age and all that I'm "low risk" but we'd decided we wanted to do that testing and were really looking forward to the scan because my husband would be able to come and he's dying to see baby.

I'm not really interested in any of the other stuff like harmony, panorama, materniti21, etc, especially because insurance won't cover it.

So it looks like no genetic testing and no scans between 8 and 20 weeks, which is going to drive me nuts!

Anyone else do no testing at all and can reassure me it's not a big deal?
