What finally calmed him down was playing music. I don't know if it was a distraction, or just calming but it really worked for us. That might make it more fun and less upsetting. Other options we've tried when LO is resisting baths is to get in with her ourselves, or just bring her in the shower. Ever since we transitioned her to a regular bathtub from the baby tub months ago she refuses to sit down, holds on to the edge of the tub and screams her head off. Initially we thought this was because we bathe her before bed and she's exhausted but she's happy as soon as we take out of the tub. My older child always loved the bath so I'm at a total loss of what to do. He's perfect, and of course the cutest toddler in the whole world in my eyes. ONLY IF he doesn't act like a drunk midget all the time!!!</p> <p>Drunk midget behavior includes: Stumbling and falling; when I tell him to come over he'd rather go circle around and smile at me; spits out the food slowly as if he's an ATM machine, in public; pushing his food on the floor, in a restaurant, and start yelling if I don't let him push the plate onto the floor as well; slamming loudly onto the table with his hands. Amongst many others.</p> <p>Do you feel the same? I am so tired trying to run around a drunk midget. When are they going to start getting "sober"?!! Not by choice, although Darwin is lovely, but because DH's work (civil engineering) consists of living in a place for a year or two working on a project, then moving to the next project, wherever that may be. Fortunately, his company takes care of all the moving logistics (packing, costs, temporary accommodation etc) but it's still a pain. Our little birthday twins are growing so quickly! I have to admit though, I have been pinning various ideas on pinterest for a couple of months now.... although I'm not even sure we'll have a party as we're moving at the start of April to a city about 2000 miles away from where we are now and won't really know anyone there. And of course our families are in the US and UK so it doesn't really make sense for them to come all the way to Australia just for a party.....but anyway, I digress.</p> <p>If we do have a party, I'm leaning towards a rainbow theme - not actual rainbows, but a rainbow colors theme. There are just so many cute ideas out there and I'm obsessed. Probably doesn't help with a theme for a boy's party though... </p> <p>If you're leaning towards a balls theme, you can always expand on that a bit and make it a bubbles theme as well (maybe a bit of champagne for the adults with brunch, bubbles as favors for the kids, perhaps a bubble machine for the kids to run through outside etc). Just an idea! </p>
