@BabyPenguinXO: I absolutely LOVE my BFF!! I feel like I'm always around the boards just talking about this bag. lol I have 2. They are 22 months apart (6 months & 2 years), and it's been the perfect size for me. I carry a pouch with snacks for DS. I have his and my water bottles on the outside pockets. Then I have a be quick that I keep all the diaper stuff in. Both kids are in diapers right now. I have a cosmetic case with first aid stuff in it. I keep an extra burp cloth, outfit change for my youngest, bibs, and small toys for my youngest as well. There's still room for more, too. I love the mommy pocket to keep my sunglasses, wallet, keys & cell phone.

Other things I love is the way the bag opens up. So easy to find everything! The handle on the top comes in very handy. I probably use that handle to carry the bag 90% of the time. Backpack option is very useful with two kids. I can throw it on my back when i need to carry the infant seat in one hand and carry my son or hold his hand with the other.

That's my 2 cents. Of course it's not going to work for everyone and it is a pricey bag. I bought it back after I had my son so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth.

@BabyPenguinXO: So, I've been considering this bag for MONTHS but haven't been able to pull the trigger. I'm now looking at the Skip Hop Forma backpack. It has stroller straps, too, and it's a fraction of the price of the BFF (it's $70). The only thing is I really can't tell how much room it has on the Skip Hop website, but like the JuJuBe line, it comes with a couple organizers, I think, which is nice.

Problem is the two bags I like are very different. The other one, the Boken everyday essentials bag doesn't have lots of organization. But the BFF does which is why I like it! And they both have the cross body AND backpack option!

@BabyPenguinXO: not at all. My son is 17 months (today) and we normally just have a few diapers, a spare outfit, some toys, and a cup. I have an old version of the Vera Bradley bag that I got off ebay that works, its big but not huge. I figure with baby number 2, I'll just need to add another outfit and we'll be set. I did love that I could wear the BFF as a backpack that's one feature I wish I had.

It's such a pricey bag, and I think the JJ Cole Satchel might have more room for 1/2 the price. I actually had it for #1 and got rid of it because it was too big. She's 2 1/2 now and potty trained, so she carries a little backpack everywhere with her blankie, cup, snacks, and a spare set of undies/pants just in case. I got a smaller diaper bag (Skip Hop Duo) for this round. I wanted less bulk!

@jetsa: I don't love my current bag. It's too tall and things get lost. But I want something with cross body and backpack which is why the BFF looks so appealing. It's short and lots of pockets for organization. But that's great insight! Are you an overpacker!?

I actually just bought this bag off amazon and then returned it. To me it was too expensive (and I got it at the steep discount) and didn't have all that much more space than the bag I had for LO1. I just didn't love it but lots of people on here do.

I really like this diaper bag! It looks a lot roomier than you might expect it to be. I'm planning to BF baby 2 so that eliminates bottles and formula. My son will be 18 months so he really doesn't need much. Snacks, a water sippy, diapers.

I want to keep a back up bag in the car with extra diapers and wipes and clothes for him, spare blanket etc.

I don't carry EVERYTHING but I do like to have some medicine on hand for babe and myself, I don't carry much for me. My wallet.

BFF for 2?

It does get better! I have a threenager and an almost terrible two. LOL! Some days are rough, but mostly they are awesome! They are such good friends and play really well together. I would say it got a lot better when the little one started walking, and now that he's starting to talk it is awesome to hear their little conversations! There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. :)

@Amelieisme: When they just say "No", I say, "Ok, so you are choosing to not have X or Y" which is great until your kid goes to school without socks! (I always stick them in the bag and tell the teacher :) )

My early three-nager had a prolonged three-nage course, I hate to say! But I figured out how to handle the threes at about 3.5 and it made all the difference. She still acted out but we totally had her number... so it was annoying and satisfying all at the same time. The final thing was to control those terrible screaming fits. The earplug trick was amazing and made the rest of the threes bearable. And then she turned four and changed everything up on us!

But four is delightful and so hard earned after getting through three! Now that #2 is almost 3, we feel like we've got a good handle on it this time around and we've been nipping it all in the bud.

@Mrs. Jacks: The "no traveling" thing was exactly what DH and I decided after this trip. It was rough. Glad to hear you are doing better and I know it must be scary for things to be shaken up once again with #3  So if he is an early threenager does that mean he'll get through the phase sooner? He has a huge Daddy preference and doesn't want me to do anything for him. I hope it passes soon! I try to do positive parenting strategies, but what happens when I give him a choice of 2 things and he just says "NO!". Ugh.

@GrapeCrush: Glad to hear it gets better. I'm a little nervous about DD getting more mobile. She has just learned to crawl and is still a little slow getting around.

@autumnlove: My DD is probably an angel, except for the sleeping issues which really didn't start until 6 months. She does like to be held, which can be kinda hard to do with a toddler getting into everything and giving me something to clean up constantly or demanding something of me.

@lilteacherbee: Good luck! I'd say the one great thing about the age difference is that my older didn't miss a beat when DD was born. I think they are almost too young to be jealous! The transition was so smooth in the beginning and I was grateful for that.

@Mamasig: Yes, they are just being toddlers and babies, but it can drive a girl crazy :silly: So maybe it is just the age? I hope we turn a corner soon. I just remember 6-10 months seeming like a honeymoon with DS so this was a bit of a rude awakening for me

It gets better! currently mine are 32 months and 17 months. the beginning was hard, then it got slightly easier, then it was a little harder when the younger was much more mobile, wanting to be more independent. the older one is a handful now with his attitude lately, but its much, much better!

@autumnlove: I love threenager! G is definitely getting there...the attitude on that little man...and we've got a couple months before he's officially 3!

There is light at the end of the tunnel. I promise! It sounds like your older one is an early three-nager. Our older one was in the terrible threes forever! My favorite phrase became, "You can cry all you want to, but mama is going to put in some ear plugs until you are ready to talk." (I was taught to say "want" not "need" because she really does not need to cry and throw such a big tantrum!) I only had to do it twice before my daughter totally got the picture.

I took the girls to Hawaii at around the time that you are at and it was the most miserable vacation of my life. It culminated with both of them crying the entire way home on the plane. I swore I would never travel again, but actually now they are a delight to travel with!

Now someone needs to talk me down about 3 under 5, because that's where I'm potentially headed next!

Mine are almost 8 months and 28 months. I felt like we were cruising for a while but I agree it's gotten harder. DS2 was a chill baby but has now gotten clingier. He wants to be held all the time and really cries when you leave him. He really doesn't entertain himself for long. He also has been waking up some when he 1st goes to sleep. Hopefully, this is a just bump and it starts getting easier again. Even so, they are just being toddlers and babies. I have to remind myself of that.

Aw, big hugs. Two under two was pretty chill for us but LO 2 was an angel until 14 months. :-p

My LO 1 is now 3 and LO 2 is 20 months. Things are going well here minus the extra whining from LO 1. She has been super emotional for the last month or so....threenager!!

LO 2 just started walking but doesn't do it consistently. Her favorite word is WHY?!

Meaning those whose older kiddos are no longer 2 or under. DS is 29 months and DD is 9 months and I know this is unusual but the last 3 months have been the hardest! I thought once my younger got to 6 months we would turn a corner, but it has just gotten worse! I think part of the problem is managing expectations on my part. She was a great newborn (meaning only woke up a few times a night, an easy nursing session, and back down). Now she wakes up for 2 hours at a time in the middle of the night. Not every night, but about 1 in 3. I WOH and this kills me. Everyone expects a mom of a newborn to be a mess, but not as much an older baby. My job is stressful. My older is still in diapers and is in the tantrum phase. It seems like someone is always crying/fussing. I am just struggling. We drove to my hometown (9hours) for Christmas and it was rough. We split each leg in two 4-5 hour trips to try to make it better, but... It was NOT worth it. So how are you doing? Any moms out there that can give me a light at the end of the tunnel??

@tysonja: I am hoping to not get separated from Dh and one of the boys. Both boys have a big mommy preference. (Poor Dh). If we have to be separated I suppose that N will be with me and E with my Dh. However that will only work if E will take a pacifier for take off and landing, I had planned to nurse at those points but Dh has trouble keeping N calm.

I actually try to pack as little as possible, as long as I have LOTS of snacks, a few diapers, wipes, and one change of clothes. I try not bring too many toys (or any at all...) and hope they can figure out things to do on the plane! :)

depending how long your flight is, it can be kinda difficult with 2 under 2, but you'll get through it and the trip will be worth it :)

also, we didn't realize this when we flew across country with a 3 month old and an 18 month old over Christmas, but since they were both lap children, my husband and I could not sit in the same row, as they only allow one lap child per row/section (grouping of 3 seats). the reason is there are only 4 oxygen masks in each row of 3. that made things kind of difficult, but we survived :)

have a great trip!

@MrsRcCar: oops! I'm sorry, I totally missed the flying part!

Could you ask your family to buy a pack of diapers ahead of time and a few other essentials so that they're on hand when you arrive?

I don't have experience with flying with a LO but is it possible for your older LO to have his own carry on? You could pick up a few new toys and pack them in his carryon to keep him entertained! I think for your younger LO, the experience in itself might be entertainment enough. I'd definitely wear him as much as possible!

Good luck!!

@Applesandbananas: I think it is so much easier for us to pack for a car trip! We road trip all the time, air plane travel is scary because we have to pair down what we pack.

Well, I only have one but I'm prepping for our road trip and so far I have:

Diapers
Wipes
Clothes
Cheerios
Cheddar bunnies
Bananas (LO's absolute favorite)
Sippy cup
Horizon milk (doesn't require refrigeration)
Bibs
Clothes
iPad with games loaded
Charger

We just did a similar road trip (all in one weekend!) and it worked out great!

@hellobeeboston: we are planning to wear both kids in the airport. N still loves to be worn. We are staying with family friends and they have a couple pack and plays. We are taking our back up back up car seats that way if something happens I won't be upset. I am so nervous about flying with two, which feels silly because I just flew with N in December.

Bumping this for you -- I have no idea, still haven't flow with just the one and I tend to overpack!! I'd be sure to have lots of snacks and treats for N on the plane! Are you going to wear your newborn?

Are there pack n plays where you are going so you don't have to bring one? What about a carseat?

Good luck
