It does get better. I stressed sooooo much over her naps (or lack thereof) but I finally just had to let it go. I decided to appreciate that she STTN and deal with naps on a daily basis. Some days were better than others. It got better at 7 months when we were able to get on a 2 nap sched, then again at 9 months when we trained her to fall asleep sans bottle, and much better when we dropped to one nap at 12 months. Now at 18 months she takes one 2 hour nap a day. It's awesome!! Although the short naps are horrible, I think it's great that she is able to put herself to sleep. It just sounds like she isn't connecting her sleep cycles for naps, which unfortunately is so common at this age. It's great she sleeps well at night! No advice here, just know that it does get better with time. The biggest improvement for us was when LO dropped to two naps. But even for us, at 8.5-almost 9 months, his sleep continue to be a major stressor for me. I feel terrible and like I'm a mess. She sleeps great at night, but I'm so scared these short naps are a sign of something to come. I'm traumatized by the lack of sleep during the newborn phase. I just want to be able to do something to help her sleep better during the day but she won't even fall asleep on me anymore. We don't rock her to sleep, she does it on her own, white noise, swaddle, blah blah. I have so much nap anxiety that I can't focus on work on the days I'm out of the house and I can't get anything done on the days I'm in the house. She changes so quickly and I love that we are capturing her in these stages.
