We had a rough time on the sleep/crankiness front around three months or so. I think there's a combo Wonder Week/growth spurt right at that time.
Hopefully it will pass in a week or two!

Have you looked into Wonder Weeks at all? I was a skeptic at first but they seem to fit in roughly around when Hunter starts to become clingy, regresses in his sleep (currently going through the 4 month sleep regression  ), and is constantly on the boob. That or a growth spurt.

@illumina: When DD1 was going through growth spurts, she ate more and slept more, while DD2 is doing the opposite, so it didn't occur to me, but that could definitely be it.

@Foodnerd81: thank you for reminding me she will prob just grow out of it, before I go spending $$$ on whatever miracle product.

C was fairly easy (not *easy* but not terrible) until 2.5 months, when she suddenly became colicky and was just miserable all the time. Even when she was sleeping she looked unhappy. Then at 3.5 minutes, she just switched back. I tried everything, thinking it was teething/gas/reflux/MSPI.... nothing seemed to make a difference, then she just got better.

Now I truly appreciate the easy times while they last.

Could it be the 3 month growth spurt? S is more cranky than usual then and spits up/is much more gassy.

DD2 used to hardly ever cry (she is 13wks today). She was giving me 6-8hr stretches at night, going back down for another 2-3hrs after a MOTN feeding. She'd go down for her first nap about an hour after waking, take a 3hr mid-day nap, then another 1-2hr nap late afternoon. All I'd have to do is swaddle her and put her in her crib with a paci. Awake.

Since last weekend, she is cranky almost all the time. It doesn't matter if I'm holding her, if she's sitting in her swing or bouncer, if she's lying down. I can hear her swallowing even when she's not feeding, so I'm 90% sure it's reflux. I know she's also got some painful gas, which I won't describe here.

She's still way easier than DD1 was at this age, but aren't babies supposed to get easier, not harder, after the 4th trimester? I thought I had hit the jackpot with DD2! As a STM I should know babies change all the time, but I miss my baby who was so easy she practically came with an on/off button.
