@Pollywog: @jennlin821: yeah I definitely deal with axienty. Only really when it comes to my looks since being pregnant. I also have a lot of deep rooted self esteem issues. I've dated some crappy men in the past. One I was with for 3 years and he left cause he "couldn't date a fat girl" and the other just straight cheated. I also have a mother who makes comments about how "I let myself go" .....I'm dealing with it in therapy. It's just a long process. I think my pregnancy hormones just amplify everything more so since I hit the third trimester. I was not like this in my 1st or 2nd. I have an appointment June 25th to talk about maybe upping my meds or what I should do in that area but a therapy appointment June 3rd. So I'm definitely able to talk about it with people. Like I know its irrational and I never act on it or freak or act crazy about my fears. Just a thought that runs through my head when I look in the mirror and see my huge stretch marks. Like deep down I know he loves me and would never do any of that. I just get weepy sometimes and seeing my stretch marks and the extra weight makes me feel gross. I've never felt pretty when pregnant.

This sounds like anxiety. I know hormones make my anxiety skyrocket and several moms I know have had to either take meds for anxiety or have their anxiety meds adjusted during pregnancy and postpartum.

You say you are seeing a psychiatrist soon. How soon? If it is more than a week I would call your therapist, explain what is going on, and ask for help to be seen sooner.

Hugs. Pregnancy is so hard.

The crying sounds normal. I'm not a crier AT ALL, but my whole pregnancy I was a weepy mess, usually from a tv commercial! (My husband is a PT, and he would adjust my back during pregnancy... one time he did it and I burst into tears for no reason. It didn't hurt, it was not unusual, I just cried. He felt bewildered and terrible, but it had nothing to do with him or even me! )

As for the insecurity you are feeling, that sounds a bit extreme. Its becoming intrusive into your life and you could probably use some help there. It sounds like anxiety, which can absolutely be hormone fueled, but I would seek help about this. No reason to feel so awful if you don't have to.

Lots of love... your body is doing something amazing for the THIRD time. Give it all the help it needs

Oof so sorry for all the recent questions. This place just seems to give more sound advice.

Since 27 weeks I've been super emotional. Some background though ...I am bipolor and back on my meds. I am seeing a therapist and I'm seeing my psychiatrist soon. I'm doing play in that area. However I don't feel like this is anything to do with that...I hope. I'm mostly weepy. I cry so easily. Be it stressful things to happy things like looking at a cute baby onesie. Idk if this is normal. It was NOT like this in my other pregnancies.

I'm also super insecure and that makes the wanting to cry worse. I dont feel attractive when I'm pregnant. It's my 3rd pregnancy and I have stretch marks, extra skin and feel huge. Not magical or beautiful at all. I keep thinking my husband will leave me cause I'm so big and "fat" I wasnt thin before so it's just worse. He has never gave me any cause to doubt him and he is amazing and I love him and I know he loves me. We have a great marriage. I'm just almost paranoid and that's so not like me. I control it pretty good but some days I just want to cry.

Does this sound like normal 3rd trimester hormones or should I be more concerned? I'm just worried it's my mental illness.

@LulaBee: Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's frustrating that there doesn't seem to be much they can really do for an SCH except to monitor it, although that seems to be the case. Congratulations on your current pregnancy!

@raintreebee: Thanks for sharing your story too! It's reassuring to hear about cases where the baby was delivered at 36+ weeks.

It seems like there are both good and bad outcomes with this, which is consistent with what my doctor told me. I guess the only thing for me to do at this point is just to take it easy and try not to think about it too much. I think yesterday and today my bleeding has gotten lighter, so I'm hoping that means the SCH is at least not getting any larger. I'm looking forward to finding out more at my appointment on Monday.

I had a very large SCH that caused me to bleed heavily in my first trimester. It grew, never shrank. I went into early labor at 23 weeks and my son died in childbirth. I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the SCH, mine was almost as big as my baby was. I was monitored at my OB and at high risk doctor weekly, and they thought that it wouldn't cause any problems. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant and they found out I have antiphospholipid syndrome, which is why I had such a big SCH. I also bled heavily with my daughter, and she was born full term and healthy.

Wishing you the healthiest pregnancy and baby!

Hi. Me and my three best friends all had SCHs. Mine resolved around 12 weeks, and I delivered at 37 weeks. My three friends all bled throughout the second trimester. All three now have healthy babies. 2 delivered at term. 1 at 36 weeks.

@Mrs. Lion: Thanks. It does make me feel better that the baby's heartbeat sounded good at today's appointment. I like that I can feel her move now too- it gives me some reassurance between appointments.

Unfortunately, my OB saying she didn't need to see me for awhile actually made me more worried since she said the reason was because there was nothing that she can do for it at this point (unless the bleeding/cramping gets worse- then she said to come in). She said all I could do for now was take it easy and just wait to see what happens. However, my OB doesn't perform the detailed ultrasounds in her office, which would be needed to monitor its size, so I'm hoping that the ultrasound office will agree to monitor it somewhat frequently when I seem them next Monday (there is a different doctor at the ultrasound office). I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

@cranberry: That sounds like a good sign, that your OB doesnt feel like he/she needs to see you! I had weekly (or maybe every two week?) ultrasounds during the time I was having the bleeding. Oddly, they didn't see the clot on the ultrasounds anymore, but since I was still bleeding on and off they continued checking on the baby. The ultrasounds helped me relax and worry less, so it may be something to ask for even if they don't bring it up. She also referred me to a high risk doctor to be evaluated before she let me return to work, just to be cautious. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up at one as well since you have another issue that is being monitored.

Hugs <3 I know how scary the bleeding can be, but if your baby is fine now then hopefully things will be perfectly fine in the end <3

@LBee: @Torchwood: @T.H.O.U.: @Mrs. Lion: Thanks for all of your replies. Between them and what I've found by googling this issue so far, I'm feeling better about it (amazingly, googling a health issue actually helped for once, instead of making me more worried). It's good to hear that all of you either had a healthy baby or, if you haven't had your baby yet, that it hasn't caused any major issues and your doctors aren't too concerned at this point.

@Mrs. Lion: I started bleeding at 15.5 weeks, but they didn't find the source of the bleed until my anatomy scan on Monday (a little over 18 weeks). I do go back again next Monday for another ultrasound though so I'm going to make sure they measure it and ask them how it compares to last week (the ultrasound is actually to monitor my cervix which is on the short side and not the bleed, as far as I know). I'm hoping that they continue to monitor it with additional ultrasounds after that if it isn't resolved yet- I'm going to have to ask them on Monday about that. (The ultrasounds are at a different office than my regular OB. My OB said that she doesn't need to see me for 4 more weeks unless the bleeding gets worse.)

Also, I want to find out from the doctor at the ultrasound office next Monday if there is a reason my OB was so concerned about this today (maybe its location or size?) or if she was just being overly cautious and warning me of all of the potential scenarios. My conversation with her left me very worried, but it sounds like, at least for the moment, I should try not to worry too much.

Mine happened from 13-18 weeks. It did resolve itself, but I was on and off bed rest during that time because the bleeding would come and go. (bleeding meant bedrest because I was a teacher and on my feet all day). My doctor was not very concerned because the clot was small, but there is a chance that the bleeding is what caused my son to be born early at 35 weeks...something about the blood being an irritant to the uterus? I am not exactly sure how it could have had an impact so much later, but I never really asked either.

Praying everything will be okay and that it resolves soon! Are they checking the size of the clot with ultrasounds? Is it getting smaller?

I was told I have an SCH at my anatomy scan, so 18 weeks. I'm currently 27 and it's caused no issues that I'm aware of. My scan was at the MFM office because of my history, and I was told not to worry, and that it was almost definitely no big deal and would probably resolve itself. The MFM's have always been very straight with us when things looked bad, so I trust them that it's not a big deal. My doula (who is a nurse) also said that she sees the marks of them a lot when she takes the placentas to be encapsulated, from moms who had no idea they had them. So they're not super uncommon, and can be totally fine.

I haven't had any bleeding, but they said that was most likely because of the way it's positioned. Any blood is getting trapped and my making its way out.

I have an ultrasound to check on it and baby's growth on Monday, so if I learn anything more (I'm going to ask more questions this time), I'll let you know! But you're not alone!

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I had bleeding problems. They aren't 100% sure why I bled the first time (my doctor says probably an SCH from lifting something), but I bled the first time (mainly just heavy spotting) at 27 weeks (it resolved in 3 days) and then I hemorrhaged at 34 weeks. I was hospitalized for both. Bleeding sucks. Wall me if you have any questions!

Every situation is different, but my son was born at 39 weeks (via c-section due to the complications surrounding my bleeding) and is/was a perfectly healthy, thriving baby!

I was just diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma (SCH) this week. I'm just about 19 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding daily for 3 weeks. My OB was concerned due to the length of time I've been bleeding and because I'm getting farther along in my pregnancy and it hasn't resolved yet (she said bleeding after 20 weeks is more worrisome than bleeding before 20 weeks). She also made me worried by explaining the full range of scenarios that could occur- from miscarriage, to early delivery (even mentioning that babies are viable at 24 weeks but 28 weeks is better), to it resolving itself or not causing any more issues and delivering full term. So now I'm worried, but I don't know how worried I should be. A lot of the posts I'm finding online are about SCH's that resolve prior to 20 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with SCH's and bleeding after 20 weeks?

Hello fellow Bees!

New girl here. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant (due around November 29th) with a baby boy and I find myself suddenly hitting my limits - physically, emotionally, and pretty much every which way. Overall I think I've been lucky. This will be my first baby and the entire pregnancy has gone so smoothly up until now (with the exception of my recent positive Group B Strep results - annoying!) But out of nowhere it's recently hit me... I'm SO pregnant. I've got the full-blown penguin waddle going on and walking up the stairs feels like ascending Everest. And as the girl who spent the last few months bragging "not a single stretch mark yet!" - I've recently discovered a fresh crop of purple beauties spreading under my enormous belly. It's somehow all hitting me at once - the heart burn, the insomnia, the anxiety, etc. Needless to say, I've had some free time on my hands to wander around the internet at 3 am. I've been binge-reading all of the food and drink myths regarding natural ways to encourage spontaneous labor. For the most part, a lot of these crazy recipes seem like questionable magical potions and borderline witchcraft. And hey, to each their own! Just not my style. But I can definitely get on board with sipping some red raspberry leaf tea and snacking on some dates. Although has anyone actually tasted a date lately? I hadn't. Those suckers are MUCH sweeter than I remembered. So rather than popping them solo, I went on a hunt for a solid date recipe. Apart from wrapping them in delicious bacon, I'm convinced this is the next best thing:

http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2014/11/date-cake-with-toffee-sauce/

I made it last night and it's heavenly. Admittedly, I opted not to make the ooey gooey sauce to accompany it and I have no regrets. This stuff is delicious on its own and it feels pretty festively fall-ish, too. Just wanted to pass this gem along to any of you in the same boat. The Let's Get This Show On The Road-Boat!

Happy Weekend,

I measured at least 2cm behind until around 32 weeks, when all of a sudden baby flipped/grew and I caught up. I'm sure everything will work out just fine - fundal height isn't always a great measure of how baby's growing in there!

@Sparkler: I am trying to focus on the extra peek at my little guy, and not on the small measurement. I have been on the light end of weight gain too. My first little guy was 8lbs 3 ounces (so not so little I guess)

I measured small (like 4-5 weeks behind) with both my pregnancies, had weekly ultrasounds on account of it, only gained about 20 lbs total and had nearly 8 lb babies. I ate like a horse, but everyone is different and the fundal height is just one small indicator. They worry about amount of fluid and growth, but just measuring small alone doesn't mean there is a problem. I had no issues and just got lots of extra screen time with the babies. Good luck!

@Corduroy: @Beebug: @Maysprout: @yin: @mrsjyw: @Ree723: Thank all of you wonderful ladies for your stories. They make me feel so much better. This pregnancy has been so different then with N. I know they say that each pregnancy is different I guess I never thought they could be this different. On a bonus side My ultrasound will be in 3D. Looks like I will be going to my ultrasound alone (with N). I think everyone has to work.

I measured behind the whole pregnancy both times. With my DD, I was consistently 2-3 cm behind, going up to 4 cm behind the last few weeks. The midwives were never worried and we never did any growth scans as everything else looked great. DD was 7 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches, so a very normal size.

I'm 38 weeks with my second now and I had been 2 cm behind since they started measuring, but at my 36 week appt, I was only measuring 31 cm. I thought they might be concerned as it was 5 cm behind but the midwife said it's fine and likely due to the way the baby is laying. At my 38 week appt this week, I was measuring 35.5 cm so it's catching up....or more than likely, the baby just shifted.

Either way, no one puts much stock into fundal height here and I have consistently been told not to worry if the measurements don't line up as it's a very imprecise practice anyway!

I measured 2-3cm behind my entire pregnancy. I gained 40 lbs total though and DS ended up being 8 lbs 11 oz at birth!

I measured small at the end of my second trimester and was already being seen by maternal fetal for my GD. I'm petite and my first was tiny but healthy at 5lbs 13oz. Maternal fetal and my OB insisted that I be heavily monitored. Towards the end I had to go in for ultrasounds twice a week. Baby was fine in each ultrasound and always growing on track (just smaller than average). There was honestly nothing to worry about, and I hate that the doctors put me through so much stress. They all wanted to induce me at 39 weeks, and I had to reason with them to let me go to 40 as long as baby was healthy in ultrasounds. Baby was born at 39 weeks 1 day. I went into labor naturally, and he was 6lbs 1oz. He was healthy with no issues. Now he is 11 lbs 6 oz at 11 weeks.

I measured around 2-3 cm behind for most of my pregnancy and was sent for a growth ultrasound. And I have weird weight gain, I gain in the first trimester and early second and then I stop gaining weight for awhile. It's good to get checked out but for my girl she was on the bigger side and is in the 75th percentile now that she's born, she just liked to sprawl out in my belly, no fetal position for her.
Best wishes, I know it can be nerve wracking.

I was measuring 2-3w small all through 30w-40w with C.....she ended up being 9lbs 1oz. I am sure everything is ok, you are definitely not failing as a Mom, but good to have the us to have a peek again and ensure babes is right on track :)

Yes, I started measuring small at the end and everything was fine. At the growth ultrasound they said she was already 35 weeks maybe they said LO was already 7lbs 8oz. Not small at all. The technician laughed at my OB for sending me and said she sees it all the time. LO was just hiding deep inside.

So of course then I worried about my BIG baby. To my surprise she was only 6lb10oz (but 21 inches) when she was born at 41 weeks. The measurements are far from precise.
