Just seeing this now or would have responded before. My husband and I have a 16 year age difference and were 30 (me) and 46 (him) when I got pregnant. I asked my OB about whether or not his age would speed up our timelines if we needed any assistance and she said yes (she would refer us to a specialist after 6 months of TTC vs. 1 year) – only based on my husband’s age, not mine. She then reminded me several times that men don’t really have the same general issues with “advanced paternal age” as women do with advanced maternal age. My OB’s husband was in his 50’s when they conceived their daughters. </p> <p>I got pregnant the first time we didn’t use protection. We haven’t had any issues with our age difference in our relationship, pre or post-baby. My DH also has kids from a previous marriage so I knew his swimmers were ok. We BD every other day around O. My DH and I have a similar age gap. Are you temping/charting? I read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and charted for 4-5 months before we started TTC. Then we used pre-seed once we started TTC and I got pregnant soon thereafter. I have been off of BC for about 2 years (not trying, not preventing), but have only been actively trying for the past 4 months or so.</p> <p>I'm curious about other similar relationships and your TTC journey, and what you might have used to help, etc. </p> <p>My DF doesn't like me to talk about it all much with him, he just wants me to relax and let it happen when it happens, which isn't as easy as it sounds when you want it to bad, and i got baby fever bad! So i was hoping I could talk about it with one of you :) </p> <p>This time around, we used Preseed and i am using Progest Cream. Today is CD16 for me. We will BD again today (BD'd on CD10, 11 &amp; 14) and then let the TWW begin! </p>
