I've only every traveled with one, but a friend of mine with 2 boys always said to bring a thin blanket to set onto the ground. So if they refuse to sit in their seats, they can occupy themselves by the magazines.

I always pack a bag of small new toys and snacks - it doesn't have to all be new, but just something they've never seen before. The trick is to only pull out a new item when one starts getting fussy.

How long is the flight?? We recently went on a 12 hour flight with my 3 year old, and I still put him in pull-ups for the flight even though he's been potty trained for close to a year! It's because when he has to go, he has to go RIGHT NOW. So glad we put him in pull-ups because there was always a line at the toilet in-flight, and people always seemed to take a long time.

I think the 2 1/2 year old will be fine with an iPad - load it up with games and new shows! I would also prepare a few surprises for him to give to him in-flight, like little blind bags, maybe some coloring things, or reusable stickers/sticker pads. I think you'll have a harder time with the 9 month old... with them being so mobile and having such short attention spans. Also, lots of snacks! Lollipops, gummis, pouches, teddy grahams, etc.

I'd babywear the 9 month old, and would still bring a stroller for the 2 1/2 year old so they can stay strapped in if needed, then gate check the stroller.

Help! I'm flying with my 2 1/2 yr old son and 9 month old son in just about 3 weeks. It seemed fine when I booked the flights, but now I'm starting to panic😬 They both have flown before and do fairly well, but I've never flown alone with them. (Also, baby was 3 mos. and so he slept the whole time.) I'm very worried about potty time for the toddler - and what if he doesn't listen to me?? Thanks in advance for all your good advice!

Same as Daniellemybelle

Most of the time they went through without hesitation. Once, the agent said that he would need to test one on a strip so I chose to just toss them (line was incredibly long and not worth it)

You can bring them but I've had different experiences. Sometimes they've gone through untouched. A couple times they've done the hand swipe thing. Once the guy said I would have to have a pat down to bring them on so I just said toss them.

Both of my kids have kindles - they have been dropped and still work perfectly - that said they do have a new kindle for kids that will be replaced at no charge if your child breaks it.

We use the Kindle free time app which allows my kids to pick and choose their own things - they are all kid approved. The ones that aren't in there I can download and then put in their free time account.

You can purchase movies and then download them so you don't need an internet connection (I did this with Frozen for DD).

We have been super happy with them! Tons of games, videos, and apps!

My nephew has a Kindle, I believe. My sister got one that has a break-for-any-reason warrenty and allows you to download any Amazon Prime show/movie for 30 days, I believe. I'll check with her on the details. She loves it because he always has stuff to watch, even in the car or on a plane where they don't have wifi.

@Mrs. D: we have a bubble style cover after hubs dropped it and shattered the screen. But unlike an iPad it was relatively easy to replace the screen. So that's an added bonus.

If you get a second gen nexus there are some neat kids covers with handles etc.

We bought a first gen nexus. We use the Google Play app to purchase and download videos. A nice thing about the Play store is that you can rent movies (they are a bit much but totally worth it). Then those rented movies can be downloaded onto the tablet and watched for 24 hours without internet access.

There are some apps that are not available on it that are available on iPads but so far it hasn't been an issue for us. My son has been able to go back and forth on both iOS and Android since he was 18 months old.

This Christmas we're going on a long drive and flight to visit friends for a week in BC.
We're thinking of giving our daughter her big present early so she can use it while travelling to beat the boredom.

What tablet computer do you recommend? I don't want an ipad since it's so expensive, but the options are endless. I'm hoping to score a deal on Beyond the Rack, but don't want to grab a bad deal.

Something I can download apps on, but don't need to access the internet to use (since we'll be in the car and on the plane).

Since we used the car seat in the stroller, we gate checked both the car seat and the stroller. If we were bringing it in addition to the stroller I totally would have curb side checked the car seat. There was no way to use it on the plane as we were flying during the holidays and all our flights were full.
