I mixed some peanut butter with breast milk and fed it to him in the pediatrician's waiting room before either his 6mo or 9mo visit, I forget which. Nothing happened.

I let LO try it around 7 months, against the advice of my ped. My LO already had MSPI, so the doctor said she had a higher chance of reactions to the foods and wanted me to stick to cereals and introducing one veggie at a time with long wait times in between....but I had already read a study about early exposure, so I did almond milk and peanut butter really early.

No reactions.

Both of our kids have had peanut butter before 1 year. We don't have a history of food allergies, so we have given them all common allergens (wheat, eggs, shell fish, nut butters, etc) early--whenever we happened to be eating it--and without any fanfare.

The ped said at her 9 month check up that we should start introducing it because studies have shown that the longer we wait, the more likely an allergy to it would be. Paraphrasing a bit. So we have her a fracker with pb on it and no reaction. Phew! We love pb in our house.

I think we introduced it at 8 or 9 months. First we tried the Bamba snack but he liked it better when we put a small spoon of peanut butter in his oatmeal.

Yup! We plan tointroduce peanut butter early! And I made a point to eat it while pregnant and now that I'm breastfeeding.

We gave DD a fingertip of peanut butter ice cream with Reece's Cups in it without thinking about it at 3 months (Oops!). She was fine and I think we'll try straight peanut butter before her 6 month appointment in a few weeks.

I plan to introduce peanut butter early. DH has always had the theory that allergies are partly from lack of exposure so it's nice to get research to back that up. I like the idea of trying it right before a doctor's appointment!

We went for peanut butter since the nuts are not ideal for babies. We tried it at nine months and thankfully it went well. I was really nervous because my husband is extremely allergic (like he went into anaphylactic shock from shaking hands with someone who had eaten peanuts a couple of months ago.) We can't keep it in the house so we went to a friend's house to try it, she lives two blocks from the hospital and I had benadryl drawn up in a syringe already.

This year there was a study done that introduction of peanuts to a baby's diet may be beneficial earlier rather than later.

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/23/feeding-infants-peanut-products-could-prevent-allergies-study-suggests/?_r=0

Do you plan to give your baby peanuts or foods containing peanut protein?
