Thanks girls. Having a little lie down as we speak! 7.24pm)
We've actually been having super unseasonal weather here the last few days, so that element totally makes sense. It's been like proper August weather- gorgeous- just mad early.
It's pretty much just my left foot at this stage, and to a lesser extent my right. Pharmacist said in most cases it's nothing to do with fluids, really just circulation, so legs-up is the most important thing. At least I've twin clinic Monday and my gp update Wednesday, so I will have plenty of supervision!

I might add that I have a friend who is pregnant and she started retaining water recently and getting swollen in her feet and ankles. Well, she thought she was retaining water because she drank too much water (I guess I see the logic) so she stopped drinking it all together. Whatever you do, don't be like her!!!

@aunt pol: I read that swelling during pregnancy (also known as edema) can be caused by too much sodium in your diet. However, some people swell even if they don't have too much sodium.
I read that when you are relaxing, keep your feet elevated. If your hands are swelling, keep them elevated above your heart by propping them up on pillows.

I was super swollen, too, and was under watch for pre-e (fortunately never developed) because I had high BP. Swelling is generally only a concern if it's really sudden/exaggerated/all over (like not just feet -- hands, face, etc). But definitely check with doc if you're concerned.

Did the weather get warmer where you are?
I noticed swelling for the first time about 2 weeks ago because it got really warm here! Almost 80 degrees!

Yeah I would call the doctor just to be sure. I had this swelling after I got off a flight and they told me to drink lots of water, reduce my sodium in take and not sit in one spot for too long.

I also got pretty swollen. Just make sure your doctor knows about it because they worry about preclamsia... although you said blood pressure was good. Try to keep your feet up as much as you can, that helped me a lot!

I'm 31 weeks today, and my ankles swelled last night for the first time, and it was actually quite painful. Hands didn't, or anything else.
Is that fluid retention, plain and simple? My blood pressure has been perfect the whole way along, and was still fine Monday, thankfully. Do I just fill up with water and continue normally otherwise?
