19 weeks for me with DS. If it's your first, generally you feel movement later anyways. I bet you'll feel it soon!!

With my first, I felt her kick at 21 weeks. I think the doctor told me I had anterior placenta too. After her first kicks, they were pretty consistant throughout the pregnancy!

I had an anterior placenta with my son, and felt him the first time at 17 weeks. My husband could feel him at 22 weeks. I never felt him as much as I feel our daughter, though. With her I have a posterior placenta, and feel SOOOOO much more.

With DD1 I didn't feel anything until about 22 weeks, but then I felt her constantly. And DH was able to feel her on the outside about a week later. With this pregnancy I felt her closer to 16 weeks even with an anterior again.

I had an anterior placenta with DS and felt slight flutters around 18/19 weeks, kicks around 20/21 weeks internally, but DH didn't feel kicks on the outside until 22/23 weeks. I also think that for having an AP I felt movement pretty early on. Usually it's around 24/5 weeks is what I heard the first time around!

I am just over 20 weeks pregnant with my first and haven't felt any movement from our little girl yet. Every time we see her on ultrasound though (my OB takes a peek at every appointment), she is moving all over the place!

I found out at my anatomy scan yesterday that I have an anterior placenta. I know that can affect how much movement you can feel so I wanted to know, for those with anterior placentas, when did you first feel movement? And once it started, were you able to feel it consistently or was it a challenge to feel movement for the whole pregnancy?

I have an AP as well, I'll be 20 weeks this Sunday. My midwife isn't too concerned about it and I have felt baby move since 9.5 weeks and movement has definitely become stronger over the last few weeks. I'm just anxiously waiting for my husband to feel baby as well. I've been given some great exercises to try and have been encouraged to do some swimming because that can help with positioning. I also avoid reclining/leaning back too much and spend a lot of time on my birthing ball. I know Spinning Babies also has some exercises they recommend.

@Kemma: anterior placentas commonly cause posterior babies for most of or all of labor which can cause back labor. It also attributed to poor presentation especially when the majority of labor is spent on ones back or lying down.

I had an anterior placenta but spent the last few weeks of pregnancy & most of early labor on my hands & knees or on my ball.... Never laying back. We also used a rebozo in labor to help position P straight down my belly. No back labor, despite it being almost 2 days long, & easy pushing here.

I have one too, but I don't think it's really hindered me and DH feeling the baby kicks as much as I had read. Or else, Baby Shopaholic has got a mean karate kick and I should be thankful for that AP! Only thing that's got me a little worried was reading that having an AP can possibly cause a "sunny-side-up" delivery?
