<description>&#60;p&#62;We have one. It took a couple of weekends for her to learn she doesn't stand on it, she is to sit on her bottom on it. She doesn't stand on it anymore but she does get a glint in her eye when she goes to sit on it sometimes, as if she wants to stand on it.&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;I found a really cute children's rocking chair at a consignment shop for $8 yesterday.  I hesitate in getting it because... well, toddlers and rocking chairs?!  That sounds like a safety hazard.  I can already picture LO standing on the rocking chair and falling on his head.  What do you think?  Is this a recipe for disaster?  If your LO has a rocking chair do they like it?

&#60;p&#62;I would go for the refund and order from somewhere else... We got our glider from Giggle in Soho for about the same amount of $. I don't remember how long it took to ship, but I do know that their customer service is pretty outstanding.

I went to a few stores in the NY/NJ area and I was told by a few places that special orders were taking a little longer than usual because of all the hurricane Sandy babies-- when the orders are actually placed, of course! &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;On principle, I just wouldn't want to deal with them and give them any money for the chair, even though I don't know when or how you'll get another one sooner. Amazon doesn't sell it in stock fabrics or anything, right? Did you check out the West Elm glider (Graham or something?) that looks similar? I wonder if they can do it sooner. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I don't think you are overreacting-- I'd be furious. But I am also sure that you and your baby will figure out a nursing situation that works for you, even if it's temporary. Which is not to say you should not make a stink-- you and DH should make the biggest stink you can!

I've had this kind of experience with a store where we bought our furniture from and it turned out that many other people had the same experience but no one was making a big enough stink about it so they were getting away with a totally clean BBB accreditation and having Yelp wipe the slate clean.

I totally understand your experience-- I had a similar experience but nothing close to what you went through (our custom upholstered glider arrived but they never called us to let us know it was ready. They ended up delivering it to us for free because it was sitting in their warehouse for weeks and my due date was fast approaching) and I totally understand your want to have THE chair you bought for when the baby arrives. And trust me, having a comfy glider is REALLY important. When your'e spending 24 hours a day soothing a baby to sleep and nursing it, a glider is so very key. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If I were you, I would hound them until they gave you some kind of gift card to their store, make sure your order is being rushed as much as possible, AND take the loaner chair and make them deliver and pick up for free. That way at LEAST you have a place to sit. It will suck having to avoid the loaner chair in pics but at least there will be somewhere to sit at 4am!

<description>&#60;p&#62;Albee baby really is horrible. We ordered our crib from them and it took forever to arrive. Way longer than they said. I was freaking out that we might not have a crib even though I ordered it like 5 months in advance. I kept calling and calling. I probably talked to those same horrible people. Anyway, we went to pick it up and the crib was in a few different boxes.  So we took what they gave us and guess what, they neglected to give us all the boxes! So we had to drive aaaaaaall the way back there the following week to pick up the rest of our crib. This was 3.5 years ago and there was a lot more to this story that I have since forgotten but that experience was horrible and I will never shop there again! Sorry you have to deal with them, too. :-(

I asked about a discount, but he said he can't on this chair because its the brand new Dutailier upholstered collections and they can't do discounts, the most he said is that they'd now deliver it to my house for free (which saves 100$), but you know...6 weeks after they said I'd get it. But with the awesome wooden loaner chair in the meantime! &#60;/p&#62;
