I personally stopped offering if she was gagging - it felt to me that she wasn't ready. He went from immediately spitting it out to chewing on it and spitting it out to swallowing some to swallowing most of it. </p> <p>He did gag a lot, especially at first (but never choked!) I gave him some roasted sweet potato fries and he wasn't all too interested. Munched it a little and spit it all out. From what I read in the book, this is pretty common the first couple of weeks.</p> <p>For those of you that did BLW, how long did it take your LO to figure out how to swallow the food? Did they gag a lot? </p>
