I assume you've already got a good bedtime routine etc? Without writing a novel, I would just approach it firmly, gently and consistently. Make a plan of action and tell your LO about it well in advance (even if he doesn't seem to understand). Be prepared for things to get worse before they get better (ie to spend lots of time comforting LO in his crib if you don't want to cio again). It will be hard but it will be worth it! Also if you're planning to wean, I would definitely try not introduce either formula or wcm motn at that age. So you might want to start gradually reducing nighttime feeds in advance of weaning? Sorry if none of this is helpful, just rambling!

Following this post. Unfortunately I do not have any advice, just sympathy since I could have written this post about my 8 month old daughter. I just keep telling myself it can't last forever (right?!)

We are having so much trouble getting our 10.5 month old to fall asleep on his own. It was never the plan to have him sleep in the bed with us, but that was what has happened... we sleep trained at 5 months and 7 months, and I gave up after 3 weeks each time since the crying didn't get any better. I wonder where he gets the persistence from?! (Both DH and I are really stubborn.) We are now nearing 12 months and I am determined. to make sleeping in the crib work! I work full time and feel like I have made excuses for us because of that - he doesn't get enough time with me, he needs to breastfeed etc. which I believe! but 12 months is enough and DH and I need our time back. I am planning to wean by 12 months since I am done. He has never had formula but the pediatrician has given us the green light to not need formula at 11 months. Please give us some encouragement/advice if you have dealt with this!
