My sisters shared a bed. From 3rd grade to 7th grade I shared a room with my other 3 siblings. My brother and I had the bunk bed. My sister slept in a full size bed together. They didnt mind. If anything they liked it cause they always had a buddy.

I shared a bed with one sister or the other until I was probably 9. We had a full size bed at first, and then a queen size. All 3 of us would end up in the same bed until my older sister was probably 7?

My mom said it definitely kept us out of their bed, and I didn't really have a problem with it until right before I turned 9.

Ours are almost the same ages, and they’ve been sharing off and on for six months. I think it’s often comforting for them, so I encourage it. We are thinking of getting privacy pop tents for each of them in case they like the coziness or sometimes want their own space. I intend for them to share a room for a long time, and I’m happy for them to share a bed if they like it.

Tell me about siblings bedsharing!

It's starting to happen in our house and I would love others experiences.

DS1 will be 4 in Feb and DS2 is 2. When a caregiver is putting them to bed they often fall asleep in DS1's bed (twin on the floor) or DS2 will join DS1 in the night. They both tend to sleep through the night when they bedshare. DH and I both work evenings for a week or two at a time a few times a year (they have a lot of evening babysitters sometimes).

When they don't DS2 will end up in our bed a few times a night (we are working on this).

I was about to get a small loft bed for DS1 and DS2 would sleep under it. But I don't want to ruin a good thing!

Does anyone have experience with this?

we got our entire bedroom set from costco. com (bed frame, headboard, sideways dresser with vanity mirror, tall dresser, and two night tables). for everything, the price was really reasonable and what I liked about it is the price you see online is the price you pay (versus a furniture store where you have to pay tax, delivery fee per furniture piece, set up fee, etc). They came and set it up and everything.

I actually bought an upholstered bed online from overstock. It was kind of a big risk not seeing it in person, but I love it! Then we bought dressers and nightstands from a local furniture store. I didn't want everything to match exactly...

We have pieced our together. The fabric headboard is from West Elm and the furniture is from local shops. We still need another dresser. Now that there isn't a PnP in our room, it is so empty.

I spent forever trying to figure this out, because like you, our stuff was old crappy hand me downs that didn't match and I was sick of it wanted some grown up matching furniture. BUT, we are in a new rental, so I didn't want to buy anything expensive that might not fit in our next place (probably a house that we buy).

So, after way too much time researching and looking in furniture stores, we went with Ikea Hemnes for the dresser and wardrobe (the dresser is all real wood, at least, and it fit the space without being too expensive). We did get a pottery barn bed, though, which we will keep forever and ever, and may end up getting PB dressers down the line. I'm thinking the Ikea dresser could end up in this baby's big kid room, when the baby furniture goes to baby #2.

I had a hard time finding more modern looking stuff-- not super modern, but not big old traditional stuff either. So I ended up looking at Crate & Barrel and PB a lot.

DH's project this summer is the remodeling of our bedroom, and I"m hoping there will be some money for real bedroom furniture (our bed is his Ikea bed from college and our dressers are his parents first set from the 80s).

My question is, where did you buy your bed/dressers? Are they a matching set or did you piece it together? We'd love to buy something quality that will last us a long time because there won't be money for a long time!

Suggestions, please! Even better if it's quality and not going to break the bank!
