My 20 month uses a bun for meals. For a non messy snack we don't use them. She's a messy eater!

LO has always despised bibs so I stopped forcing it before 16 mos. She's 2 now and I still wish she would tolerate wearing one. Instead, I just don't feed her a lot of messy foods!

He was probably around 2. I would have liked to use them longer but they stopped putting them on him at daycare so he started refusing them at home too. He gets messy sometimes but I figure it's dinner, the clothes are coming off soon anyway.

I've never had any come apart, but they are muslin, so they do "shrink" a little. I never found that to interfere with functionality, though. I still use them when she eats out over her other bib so that any liquids don't sit against her neck/chin and irritate the skin. To me it seems like when you wash/dry them and they "shrink" (which in my opinion is pretty minimal) they actually become more absorbent.

@shopaholic: we use baby washcloth for sooo much, washing her eyes, face and hands with every morning, wiping up spit up, holding over a boob that randomly lets down and drying her bum off after every diaper change (helps prevent rashes). So we have tons but we got dollar store packs so didn't spend too much and we use them all.

Oh I recognize some of these usernames from Weddingbee! My LO is 12 weeks today. I have 15-20 bibs. I do laundry every 3-4 days depending on what's going on, but I recently went out to buy more bibs because I feel like we blast through them. I keep 3 bibs in his diaper bag constantly in case he spits up and soaks through it and I need backups. I've also accidentally dropped them on the ground and had to go to backups. My baby has about 7 bottles a day. Sometimes he's not too messy and we can use the bib again, but sometimes he spits up and then that bib goes into the hamper. I'd say I use at LEAST 3-4 bibs a day.

As for the washcloths, I have the A&A ones and in the beginning, it was actually too big to use on his little body. I also bought 2 packs of the Target Circo brand ones that are really thin. They work fine for us. I have maybe 12 washcloths, but I only use 2 for each bathtime (one for face and one for body) so I never run out.

I keep forgetting to put bibs on ds but he's already such a drooler at 12w. He also spits up so burn rags are a must. I ended up cutting some receiving blankets I got as hand me downs and am constantly running out if them. We also have a ton of washcloths and use 2-3 per bath every day. I actually like the smaller cheap ones better than the larger A&A ones we have. Don't really use those yet. Maybe when he's older

I was baby laundry every other day so one package of washcloths is fine, we have way too many. Bibs we honestly have 20+ and we need them, she's a spitter so we go through 5-10 a day! I would hold off until you know if you need them though. We hvae some pretty ones and some plain ones we got in a pack of 10 from Target.

We go through a ton of bibs because LO is teething. I also like have a lot of burp clothes since LO spits up sometimes and also our dogs steal them so they are sometimes hard to find.
