@sslm: The dog is the fussiest one. The green cheek conure is probably second, and the cats and chinchilla are pretty easy. We'll have to see where the little parakeet falls in!

That's a lot of pets!!!!! Good things some of them are small and less work than others :)

My DH has an aunt that is an animal lover and they had multiple dogs and cats. One time she even brought a miniature pony home in the back seat of her car (good thing they live on a farm!).

@redsmarties: I couldn't imagine adding another cat or dog to the mix at this point. The cats are bonded, and our dog would not take to another puppy in the house.

Oh my goodness - 6 pets! That's crazy! I've been begging DH for a cat or a dog, but he's against it because we're both at work all day. The poor parakeet - how sad!

adding animals to our house! We just took in a blue parakeet that showed up at my parents' house. It is likely that someone got sick of taking care of the little guy, and let him go. My parents have a pair of love birds, so their chirping attracted the poor homeless parakeet. He was so scared, trapping him only involved leaving a cage with millet out, and he flew right in.

They certainly would have kept him, but DH and I have a very soft spot for abandoned animals. So now, roughly three weeks before I'm due, we now are up to six pets. At least parakeets are easy, and this one seems to be on the quite side!
