I didn't like the freemie cups - mostly because I need to do a lot of massage, hand compression that get good output while pumping.

I currently have two Medela PIS, so I thought I'd try something different this time. I was planning on going with the Spectra because I've seen that a lot of people really like them, but then I just saw my insurance will also cover the Freemie Hands Free Delux Pump. Which one would you go with?

Just wanted to stop back to update real quick...

Had mammogram yesterday afternoon. The tech couldn't feel any "lump" either, which honestly made me feel good b/c I haven't been able to feel it this entire time. She did two views and then sent me to wait. Came back and did a third view which was more squished but not painful.

Then I went back to wait. I was then told that I had an ultrasound in 30 mins (I hadn't known that) but apparently when the dr refers for a "lump" they automatically do both. So I wanted until I was taken for the ultrasound.

The tech asked where the lump was and I told her the area of question but told her that I had never really felt anything and no lump. She also didn't feel a lump! Again I felt better b/c this all means I didn't miss a lump on myself!

She did the ultrasound and no lump or issue was found. Just some dense tissue, which I've always had and always have known I had.....

So I was released with no need to follow up or anything. All clear

Thanks so much ladies for all of your comments, you really helped me not be nervous

Sorry to revisit this post. But to all of you that felt your own lump, was it obvious? And those who's dr felt it before you did.. were you able to feel it after??

I honestly can NOT feel the "lump" she was referring to. I have tried standing up, laying down, in the shower, clothed, unclothed..LOL??? TMI but I have dense tissue and that's all I feel. I guess that could be what she was referring to.

When she felt it in the apt, she put my hand there to feel and I told her I couldn't feel it but that was it....

My mom has always had a lump that they've watched, but it's just been fibrous. I have a lump that they're also watching that I found when I was pregnant. They did an ultrasound on it after I had the baby, but because I was breastfeeding, it was a little difficult for them to scan (boobs kept filling with milk). But, they scanned for a long time and didn't see anything concerning.... just fibroids.

Back when we were TTC, my OB found a lump during a checkup. I think the whole process took a month from finding it -> ultrasound -> biopsy -> lumpectomy. It was very stressful because at each step of the way they kept saying "I'm sure it's nothing, but we should go ahead and do xyz". But in the end, they were right!

You can laugh at me, but we were SO stressed about TTC that we had sex 24 hours after my lumpectomy, while I was still wearing a bandage. It was awful!! Worst idea ever!

@Ajsmommy: My OB is part of a medical practice associated with and located next to a major woman's hospital. This hospital serves all women's healthcare needs from having a baby to menopause, etc. About 90% of the babies born here are delivered in this hospital. Anyway, they have a major imaging center. I just walked on over with my orders. The radiologist reviewed everything right away. I didn't have to wait for results or anything. It was about 4-5 hours from when I called my OB to getting final results. I'm sorry it's not so straightforward for you! The waiting has got to suck!

I still have a lump that I first noticed a couple of years ago. It's pretty large. I also have the BRCA2 breast cancer mutation so I take everything extremely seriously! Ultrasound and mammo determined that the lump is nothing...just fibrous if I remember right.

I get screened yearly with both mammo and breast MRI and this year they found something suspicious (.8cm...I couldn't feel it...so I had to get a biopsy and it was also negative.

It's very likely that's it's nothing...but of course it's important to check everything out! Good luck.

My mom had a lump. I think it was just a leftover from a bad case of mastitis, but this was 30 years ago and medicine wasn't what it is today, so her doctor removed it just in case.

@Ajsmommy: I had a lump and my PCP immediately referred me to the cancer center. I was terrified. They did an ultrasound and biopsied it that day and it was benign. I was supposed to get it rechecked but then I got pregnant so they wouldn't check it. It got huge while pregnant and now is gone. Most likely it's nothing. Keeping you in my thoughts. I'm surprised though they're doing a mammogram first instead of just going to biopsy.

I haven't had this personally, but I my mom always had to have extra mammograms because she had dense breast tissue. Hopefully a 3D mammogram will give you a clean bill of health and you won't even need a biopsy!
