@peachykeen: I used a FRER yesterday which was 11 DPO so yes, today is 12 DPO. With my chemical pregnancy and my pregnancy with my first I could only get a positive the day before my missed period.

My OPK's have definitely been positive. They are darker, or the same color. Leading up to my first "surge" I was getting two lines but got a definite positive on day 12, 13 then back to negative day 14 and back to positive day 18-24.

The first doctor I saw sense we moved drew my blood and only did my FSH and prolactin. In hindsight I wish I would've asked what he was drawing and requested a full panel! I've been wondering about cysts too.

@pureluck: oh my gosh, I would be fumming to! If I have learned anything during this process (we had to do IVF 3 times), it's to be an advocate for yourself! Don't let a doctor tell you that everything is ok without doing some actual testing. If you need suggestions on tests to take, feel free to PM me. I just know how I felt when I was wasting my time. If your current doctor isn't helping you, you have every right to find a new one that will.

oh and 17 days are sure as hell NOT normal!

@NorthStar: I appreciate that! I actually already have a visit scheduled. My cycles have been all over the place... Ranging from 17 days-31days. My previous OB thought I was having chemical pregnancies. We just moved and the first OB I saw told me that "17 day cycles are normal and we won't treat you aggressively right now since you have already had a successful pregnancy". Needless to say I was pissed! I'm a registered nurse and have worked mom/baby and in fertility so I think I also just run my brain too much. I need to let a doctor do the diagnosing!

Am I calculating correctly that you are 12 dpo? What kind of pregnancy test did you take? Are the OPKs darker than the test line or lighter?

In the past I have gotten lighter OPK lines during the luteal phase - frustrating and confusing and my period did come later that month. I later read that positive OPKs late in your cycle and a late period can indicate ovarian cysts (would make sense for me because I also had significant cramping at the time I was getting positive OPKs).

Hope you get your :bfp: pregnancy test soon!

@pureluck: If you are not pregnant with this cycle (I sure hope you are and your symptoms sound promising), I would recommend seeing an RE or an OB. With that much spotting, I would have them check your progesterone levels and look into a luteal phase defect. I say this because I've been there and done that..3 years later and I'm finally pregnant with #2.

What cycle day are you currently and how long are your cycles typically?

Hey girls! This two week wait is really getting to me. We are coming up on our year mark for trying for a second little one. Our first was easy peasy so this has been a whirlwind of emotions!

I need advice, thoughts, stories.... I ovulated on CD 12 with positive OPK and left sided cramping. My OPK was positive for 2 days. On CD 18 (6 days later) I noticed pink spotting. Just for the heck of it I did and OPK and sure enough it was positive. I have now been spotting for SIX days, and each day my OPK has been positive. My spotting has been pink, brown, peach, and a little red with mucus. My boobs have been SUPER sore and tingly. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what's going on with my body. Does anyone have a similar story? What was your outcome?

I'll do my best to post back when my two week wait is over too!

Did she have sex recently? Or maybe ride a bike? The cervix is tender and can bleed a little when irritated. As long as it's brown, I wouldn't be concerned.

I've had spotting this entire pregnancy due to a friable cervix. I'm 14.5 weeks. I spot brown or pink all the time, unfortunately. I usually call the doctor or go to the hospital if it turns red, but it's always my lovely cervix. If she's never had it before, I'd go get checked out... It can be totally normal, but its always good to have peace of mind!

I had brown discharge that turned pink and then period red for 14 straight days, between weeks 6 and 8. It was so stressful but the baby was fine! Some women just bleed. You can release some old blood around the time your period would be, or just randomly. If she's concerned, she should definitely call the doctor, but this can be normal. A cramp could be round ligament pain.

I had brown discharge my entire pregnancy and had a perfectly healthy baby girl. But my doc had me get an ultrasound EVERY time I had spotting so I would suggest your friend call her doc. I don't think going to the ER is necessary but she should call the on call doc and see what they say.

All the books say it's normal, but I would still probably go to the ER. I am so anxious about all of that! When I miscarried at 8 weeks, I had the slightest pink tinged mucus. Everything said it was normal, but I just couldn't let it go... And I was right... Not to scare your friend or anything, it's probably fine, but I would still go get checked out!!
