@peaches1038: i personally would only do fruit if I knew I could keep it cold. I would lean towards those pull apart breads that you can dip.

I make this French toast casserole in situations like that - make ahead night before then stick in oven while getting ready for the day. It generally keeps warm for a while in one of those insulated casserole carriers, but it is good at room temp too.

@peaches1038: Would a caprese salad hold up?? Just tomato slices, basil, buffalo mozzerella slices and olive oil/vinegar/sea salt drizzled on top? We did that recently and it was a much bigger hit than the time it took to prepare!

If you do fruit, make the fruit dip that's half whipped cream cheese, half marshmallow fluff. It's really yummy and makes fruit a little more exciting!

We are going to brunch at DH's coworkers house this weekend and I need something easy to make. We have gymnastics from 9-945 and will have to head to their place around 1030. I want something easy, yummy and that can be made ahead and served cold or at room temperature. I was thinking muffins or a fruit salad. Any other brilliant suggestions?!

Back to the drawing board, my husband said no to the breakfast pizza!

So I am thinking about just doing 2 apps (cut out the scrambled eggs on toast) and do the french toast...most of it can be done the night before or in the morning. It's only 4 of us plus my toddler, so it isn't a huge amount of cooking!

I think fruit for dessert is good in the AM! Or strawberry shortcake?

I made french toast, sausage and cut up fresh strawberries for LO and my breakfast this am!

That sounds like a delicious brunch!! I agree with @hilsy85: suggestion of making it more of a buffet/self serve style so that you can enjoy the brunch with your guests as well!

Sounds delish! My only concern would be with all of those individual things, that you would be spending too much time in the kitchen plating stuff, rather than being able to hang out with your guests! Can you do family style type stuff so people can serve themselves?

As for dessert, I don't think it's necessary with all the other yummy stuff you'll have!

We're having some friends over for brunch this weekend, I wanted to do something a little different, so I was thinking of doing a three course set up...bad idea?

Appetizers: scrambled eggs on toast, salmon/cream cheese on cucumber rounds, mushrooms on hash browns
Main: Individual French toast casseroles with praline topping, fruit salad with yogurt dressing
Dessert: no idea?

Or, should I just keep it simple and make one thing? I could do something like a breakfast pizza.

WWYD?
