We have a small SIGG bottle for water. I was told the top spout part and cap can be run through the dishwasher but that the bottle part could not. So I've been handwashing it by using my finger with soap to get as far into the bottle as possible and then swooshing around soapy water inside.

But I'd like to find a bottle brush that can fit inside and thoroughly clean it. Our avent one doesn't do the job (too large to fit inside!).

Any suggestions?

We sing a little song and I do it every day at the same time even if she cries. If she cries, at least her mouth is open! She is getting bigger now (17 mos) so she can kind of listen if you explain things to her. I will confess that I have pinned her down while she cries to brush them before, but most days she is fairly calm by now...

I'm dealing with this too! DD doesn't mind the baby toothbrush, but it's still, she often just clamps down her teeth. I'm hoping if we try being more consistent at tooth brushing that she'll get the hang of it.

Our LO loved watching us brush our teeth so one day my husband used his toothbrush on him and he got a kick out of it. Now we just give him his own toothbrush and he will brush his own teeth. We also sing a little jingle that reminds him to actually move the brush around. After he's done we take the brush to do some extra scrubbing.

I would just be really consistent...let your LO watch you brush your teeth and try an actual toothbrush. I never liked using the finger brush!

My LO seems to enjoy sticking her hands in my mouth, so usually I let her "explore" my teeth while I brush hers.

I went with the baby toothbrush after I got bit hard with the fingerbrush, too. I seriously thought I was going to lose a nail one of the times.

He still clams up sometimes, but what I've done is I've bought a two pack of brushes and I let him hold and chew on one while I sneak the other one in. It works most times.

@cranberryapple: LO is almost 11 months, but we only started teeth brushing less than a month ago. I couldnt figure out how to really get a finger toothbrush into her mouth before then haha

I just squeeze my finger in and rush the brush lol. They've been doing well for like 6 months and now decide they aren't that into it. I hope I don't scar them for life or make them hate brushing their teeth. They are 13 mo now.

It took a few tries to get LO to be on board with brushing her tiny little chompers. What I did was let her just play with her toothbrush for a couple of nights in the bath, and then I brought in my toothbrush during her bath and showed it to her and really slow "brushed" my front teeth back and forth. Then I put her brush in her hand and brushed her lips gently until she opened her mouth, then I brushed her bottom teeth and her uppers (no teeth yet, just gums).

After a few days, she got the hang of it and now she goes back-and-forth with the brush on her own during her bath. Hope this helps!!!

My LO (9 months) hates opening his mouth for us to clean his four teeth, so we've kinda skipped doing it, but I know we should! We have a little finger brush but he keeps biting down really hard on my finger, and otherwise won't open up his mouth!! So stubborn! Any tips or tricks to get him to open up, and most importantly, he will grow out of this, right? Hahahaha.
