My friend also breastfed both her kids and said she never burped them. I breastfed and burped both and it really seemed necessary to keep milk down and so they would drink a little more. Around 11 months with my second because if I didn’t it resulted in a mass puke incident after breastfeeding. But a burp made it safe, or safer...as I dealt with mass spit up (like a fountain) for at least a year. Until the last few weeks if you didn’t get a burp out of him he would for sure spit up. This is not happening so much now.
