Main reason: Failure to progress-- pushed for 3 hrs after laboring down for an hour and DS didn't budge at all in the 4 hrs I spent at 10cm. DS was sunny side up and I just couldn't get him through my pelvis at the angle he was in. 2. Meconium in the fluid meant I had to get DS out fast and I wasn't able to push him fast enough. 3. After 3 hours of pushing, DS's heart rate fell to 80, then never got above 100 -- it dipped down with each push. That was the last straw. My LO was sunny side up and also tilted and her head was stuck sort of in the corner of my pelvis. It was putting pressure just on the back half of my cervix and making it swell closed again. After a few hours of rolling around trying to get her to move, her heart rate started going wonky and I was spiking a temperature (concerning for me and for her because there had been meconium in her fluid).
